Sunggyu spent that Saturday morning silent. At the breakfast table, Myungsoo tried to stir up some conversation, gaining nothing in return. Sunggyu was obviously giving him the silent treatment and when Myungsoo commented on how immature that was, he received a death glare. After his brother took a shower and grabbed his keys, he headed out without telling Myungsoo about where he was going or when he would be back. When the door closed, their mother stepped out, having had woken up a few minutes ago. She gave Myungsoo a questioning look and the latter just shrugged and went up to his room.
It was a cold and chilly day, but Sunggyu walked all the way to Woohyun’s house anyway, through all the icy wind.
Woohyun opened the door to the sight of Sunggyu with his hands in his pockets. He immediately sighed and stepped back to let him in. ‘I thought we’ve established that if you wanted to come over, you’d call me so I would pick you up,’ he commented.
Sunggyu stepped into the warm house and found the couch, yet speaking a word to the younger boy.
‘I’ve told you before, this area is dangerous,’ Woohyun nagged weakly, knowing Sunggyu would never listen to him. Sunggyu was a guy and had pride after all. Plus, he was as stubborn as a four-year-old. Naturally, Woohyun walked into the kitchen to make hot chocolate on the stove. He’d pretty much perfected the art of hot chocolate brewing over the first two thirds of the fall season. When Woohyun was done, he brought over the steaming cups and placed them on the coffee table.
‘Myungsoo slept with Sungyeol last night,’ Sunggyu blurted out, staring blankly up at the other.
Woohyun froze. ‘What?’
Sunggyu didn’t give Woohyun any time to process the information and instead asked as soon as Woohyun’s mouth closed, ‘Do you really think Myungsoo likes him?’
‘He slept with him?’ Woohyun snapped.
‘Yes,’ Sunggyu huffed, still with the blank expression on his face.
‘…And Sungyeol let him?’
‘I don’t see how else it would work out,’ Sunggyu chuckled somewhat bitterly. Woohyun then nodded and sat down beside him, scratching his head as he listened. Sunggyu mumbled, ‘You haven’t answered me.’
Woohyun glanced at him.
‘Do you really think Myungsoo likes Sungyeol?’
Woohyun shook his head and hung his jaw open. ‘I don’t know, not anymore,’ he replied honestly, ‘But Sungyeol… Sungyeol really likes him if he is willing to fuck with him even if he knows Myungsoo is a hornbag.’
After slumping into the leather, Sunggyu groaned in exasperation. The situation was complete insanity. ‘What are we going to do?’
‘Well, how have you been treating to Myungsoo since you found out?’ Woohyun questioned, since it was already Saturday afternoon.
Sunggyu scoffed, ‘Ignoring him without fail.’
‘What should I do about Sungyeol then? He hasn’t been replying to my texts,’ Woohyun mentioned dejectedly, tapping his fingers on the glass of the table before him.
Sunggyu let out an audible sigh. ‘I guess we’ll just have to wait to see how Myungsoo treats Sungyeol on Monday,’ he proposed.
The silence grew in their conversation’s place. It only enhanced Woohyun’s thoughts, made him overthink just a tad bit. Woohyun watched Sunggyu press his lips together in thought - Sunggyu may not have been direct about it, but Woohyun knew he was concerned and he was thinking the situation over and over in his head. He inspected his face in more detail, noticing how pale and tired he looked. Maybe Sunggyu couldn’t go to sleep last night due to worrying about what he had witnessed. You may say he was being a little ridiculous, but Woohyun felt like he would do anything in the world to solve all of Sunggyu’s problems. He wanted to help - he really wanted to help - but in all honesty, there was nothing Woohyun could do. The only thing Woohyun thought would help, even if it was only temporary, was getting Sunggyu’s mind off his brother.
‘Let’s go job-hunting,’ Woohyun announced all of a sudden, standing up.
Sunggyu tipped his head. ‘What?’
‘Let’s go… find you a job,’ Woohyun added, grabbing two jackets - one for Sunggyu, because Sunggyu had yet learnt that thick clothes keep you warm, and one for him - and pointing towards the door.
Sunggyu felt a bit apprehensive but left anyway, abandoning the two cups of hot chocolate.

Yongguk’s parents were all over Sungjong as soon as the pair strolled through the door. Maybe it was because they thought Sungjong was cute - Myungsoo would strongly disagree - but they were doting on him constantly and Yongguk somehow got pushed into the shadows. The two didn’t mean to stay at the house for long; Yongguk had forgotten his wallet and needed the money to pay for lunch, even though Sungjong insisted he could shout for that day. However, Yongguk’s parents had somehow prolonged their stay and made them club sandwiches for lunch, tending to Sungjong’s every need.
When the parents had left to the kitchen, Sungjong leaned over to Yongguk and whispered, ‘Why do they like me so much?’ He was clearly not expecting such caring treatment because, well, Sungjong was their son’s boyfriend and that usually didn’t go down well with parents. Yongguk shrugged and answered quietly, ‘My parents don’t want you to leave. They just love the fact that their son is in a relationship, they don’t care with who.’ Sungjong pressed his lips into a thin line, a bit disappointed because he thought it was because of his charms. But whatever. Yongguk’s parents liking him was a good thing.
After a very fulfilling lunch, Yongguk gave Sungjong a tour of his house, eventually leading him to his room. Sungjong ended up playing with Yongguk’s collectable toys and teasing him about his childhood photos. They eventually became exhausted, probably from all the digesting they were doing. They somehow ended up lying comfortably on Yongguk’s bed, spewing nonsense until the conversation took a somewhat serious turn (or just about as serious as two teenage boys could get).
‘What do you want to do? After school, after all this shit is over, I mean,’ Sungjong asked, pressing his ear against Yongguk’s chest where he could hear and feel his heartbeat.
‘I have no clue,’ Yongguk scoffed.
Sungjong propped himself up on his elbow and stared down at the other. ‘Really? But we’re in senior year now. You should have some vague idea about what you want to do,’ he badgered.
All he got in return as a lazy shrug.
‘Don’t you want a good future?’ Sungjong snapped, pouting a little.
Yongguk just sheepishly smiled up at the younger boy, gums showing prideful as he stated, ‘I do. I want you to be my future.’
Sungjong snorted, ‘That’s really corny.’
There was another shrug before Yongguk pulled Sungjong closer, to lie on top of him again, missing his warmth. ‘You like corny things.’
Sungjong’s eyebrow quirked a little. ‘So you’ve noticed.’
‘How ‘bout you? What do you want to do?’
‘Something to do with people…’ Sungjong answered, honestly still contemplating what career path he was heading to. ‘Not kids though. Goddamn, I hate children.’

Miss Lee was rummaging through all the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen, looking for something. She eventually gave up and placed her hands on her hips, huffing the hair out of her eyes. She then called out to Howon, who was sitting on the couch in the living room, ‘Howon, have you seen the filleting knife? The small one that is tapered at the end with a blue handle?’
‘No,’ Howon answered frankly, tugging at the sleeves of his shirt.

It took hours and hours, a few snack stops, and a lunch break for Sunggyu and Woohyun to find a suitable place with hours Sunggyu could squeeze in. They found a little bookstore that needed some casual assistance. Sunggyu was only going to work on weekends, ten to five (The hours would change depending on if they needed him and if he was busy or not.), and was going to be payed a lot more than he could’ve asked for. The manager offered for him to work after school but Sunggyu politely declined, making Woohyun smirk because he had a suspicion it was to do with their phone calls. The manager handed Sunggyu some paperwork he needed to fill out before he had to close the store, since it was already eight o’clock.
As Sunggyu sat in the passenger seat of Woohyun’s car, the latter concentrating on driving, he had some concerns about his new job which he’d be starting tomorrow.
‘But isn’t it a bit far?’ Sunggyu mumbled, noting that it was about a ten minute drive from his house. He assumed walking would take ages.
Woohyun steadily spun the steering wheel and replied, ‘It’s not that far. I’ll drive you to work.’
‘I could take a bus,’ Sunggyu offered.
‘The nearest bus stop is pretty far,’ Woohyun retorted, shaking his head.
‘It’s one street away,’ Sunggyu scoffed, rolling his eyes.
Woohyun shook his head again, grinning toothlessly. ‘I’ll take you, since you wanted me to help you out,’ he insisted.
Sunggyu looked towards the floor of the car, at his feet, and smiled to himself as he thought. Woohyun noticed the quiet and just went with it, turning on the windscreen wipers as it started to rain a little. When they stopped at a red light, Woohyun impatiently tapping his fingers away at the wheel, Sunggyu commented quietly, ‘I really appreciate it.’
Woohyun looked at him and rose his eyebrows. ‘It’s no problem. The place is on the way to my house anyway.’
‘No… I meant I appreciate you distracting me and taking my mind off Myungsoo,’ Sunggyu replied, smirking lopsidedly at the other.
Woohyun twitched his head and said in slight awe, ‘So you noticed.’
Sunggyu scoffed and smacked his head playfully, not intentionally hurting him.
‘Well, what else could I expect from Paran’s top ranking student, Mr student body president,’ the younger boy sniggered, liking the mischievous look Sunggyu was shooting him.

Woohyun was lying on Sungyeol’s bed with Sungyeol, hugging him from behind. It wasn’t abnormal for them to be like that. It was always how Dongwoo, Woohyun and Sungyeol would comfort each other since they were little. Dongwoo used to be a crybaby (Well, more so than now) and the other two would comfort him every time he cried. Sungyeol and Woohyun missed Dongwoo.
Sometimes they would fall asleep together like that. Their parents didn’t mind. Their parents knew how close their bond was… Although Woohyun was still a little scared of Sungyeol’s parents. How Dongwoo got along with them so well always escaped him.
‘Sungyeol,’ Woohyun sighed, snuggling the side of his face closer into the crook between Sungyeol’s shoulder blades.
‘Hm?’
Woohyun yawned, ‘Is Kim gonna take you seriously?’
Sungyeol blinked a few times. ‘I don’t know.’
After a moment, Woohyun sat up and stretched, leaning his back flat against the wall. He concluded, ‘We need Dongwoo. He’d know how to make this fucked-up situation look like sunshine and chocolate fountains and baby elephants that fart rainbows.’
Sungyeol laughed because it sounded like something he would say.

Dongwoo said:
He’ll be okay. Two weeks isn’t that long…
Sunggyu said:
But it’s more than enough, isn’t it?
Dongwoo said:
What do you mean? @_@
Sunggyu said:
Nevermind.

By the time Monday came, the majority of the school had heard about Myungsoo and Sungyeol. By the end of first period, the majority had informed the minority and so every single soul knew of what went on between them on Friday night. Sungyeol was far from pleased, but in actuality, he was more concerned about how Myungsoo was handling it. He had sat through chemistry with dozens of pairs of eyes on him and the only reason he didn’t throw a fit about it was because he was too concerned over how Myungsoo was coping. Soon enough, first period was over and he had literature, meaning Myungsoo was going to be with him and they could talk it over.
As per usual, Sungyeol took a seat first as his chemistry classroom was closer. When Myungsoo walked in, everyone’s eyes were on the two and Sungyeol could’ve sworn it looked like they were expecting something juicy to happen. And maybe it did, depending on how you looked at it, because Myungsoo didn’t even blink at the sight of Sungyeol staring at him. He didn’t even give him a second glance and sat far away from the other, completely ignoring his existence.
Sungyeol tilted his head. Just when he was going to stand up and walk up to the other, he felt someone tugging his sleeve and forcing him to sit down. He looked at the other student in confusion and allowed them to talk first.
The boy asked, ‘Did he keep calling you baby or gorgeous or beautiful?’
It took Sungyeol a while to understand what he was talking about, but when he did he nodded, overlooking how awkward the topic of Myungsoo and him having sex was.
The boy then scoffed, ‘Of course. He didn’t want to say the wrong name.’
Sungyeol’s eyes widened. He then gazed over to the front, to where Myungsoo was sitting. Myungsoo was laughing with his friend, acting like nothing happened, acting like nothing was happening.
‘Don’t take it personally,’ the boy beside Sungyeol said casually, ‘He avoids all his one-night-stands.’
It fucking hurt and Sungyeol knew he was stupid for not seeing it coming.

After putting his things in his locker, Sunggyu walked over to the nearest restroom to wash his hands. That lesson, they dissected a lamb’s heart and even though they all wore gloves, Sunggyu was still sceptical. When he walked in, he spotted Woohyun leaning his backside against the sinks and staring at the closed cubicle in front of him.
When the younger guy noticed Sunggyu, he scoffed, ‘You always have the best timing.’
‘Were you talking about me again?’ Sunggyu mused dryly. He then looked at the closed cubicle, spotting the all too familiar furry high-tops. ‘I was wondering why you rushed out of class so fast.’
Woohyun countered, ‘I was wondering why you didn’t.’
With an eye-roll, Sunggyu ignored him and shifted his attention to the toilet cubicle. ‘Sungyeol,’ he called softly, ‘How are you feeling?’
Sungyeol sounded like a robot. ‘I’m fine.’
The answer made Sunggyu frown. He then leaned over to Woohyun and whispered, ‘How long has he been in there?’
‘About ten minutes or so,’ Woohyun whispered back.
Sunggyu twisted on the faucet and asked over the noise, ‘Are you constipated?’
Immediately, Woohyun shot him a horrified look through the mirror.
‘What? It’s a valid question,’ Sunggyu spat innocently, scrunching his nose at the younger boy.
When Sunggyu went to get some toilet paper to dry his hands, Woohyun rubbed his face and sighed, ‘Your brother went too far this time.’
Sunggyu tilted his head at him and gasped sarcastically, ‘Oh? You think?’
‘Well, I’m sorry I didn’t notice before. The guy’s a charmer,’ Woohyun sneered.
Sungyeol commented bitterly from inside the cubicle, ‘He’d make a great actor.’
Woohyun and Sunggyu instantly softened, feeling a little guilty for no particular reason. Perhaps it was because Myungsoo was Sunggyu’s brother that made Sunggyu apologise earnestly, ‘Sungyeol, I’m extremely sorry on his behalf. Trust me, if things get any worse I will deal with whoever’s bothering you to the best of my ability.’
‘It’s okay… I should’ve saw it coming.’
Sunggyu then grabbed Woohyun’s wrist, surprising the other. He then turned it over and peeked at his watch. Sunggyu let him go. ‘I’m required at a meeting in about two minutes. Will you be okay in Woohyun’s hands? I could ask Howon to look over you too,’ Sunggyu mentioned.
Sungyeol answered quietly, ‘It’s okay, he’ll take care of me.’
‘He better,’ Sunggyu warned, glaring at Woohyun who just stood there and took it.
-
Near the end of recess, Sungyeol finally regained the courage to get out of the restroom. Woohyun stuck to his side like glue, scanning everything in front of them. He saw a couple of sophomores sniggering as they saw Sungyeol, so his protective side took over. He glared at them and barked dangerously, ‘Get the fuck out of here.’ They immediately quietened, but looked at him without fear nonetheless. Woohyun had no intentions of letting anything get physical and he knew Sungyeol would hate it, so he kept his hands to himself.
As they walked further down the hall, he saw a junior looking at Sungyeol oddly. Woohyun growled, ‘The fuck are you looking at?’
Sungyeol smiled a little - It had been a while since he saw Woohyun stand up for him.
They took a turn, walking past a group of juniors notorious for being sassy little shitheads. Woohyun recognised two of them from the time at the café with Sunggyu - That pushed him a little to the edge already, but one of the group was stupid enough to laugh out loud, ‘Another victim, ha?’
Woohyun stepped up to him, glaring at him from a close distance. ‘What did you say?’ he snarled lowly, threateningly.
The other student didn’t waver, but Woohyun could see the glint of fear in his eye. He then stepped away and went back to Sungyeol, gripping onto his sleeve and hauling him away. They walked downstairs and eventually ended up where everyone’s lockers were.
Not exactly the smartest of ideas.
There were students everywhere, all in their little groups, yacking about things no one really cared about. But when the two boys stepped in, they silenced. Sungyeol was now the centre of attention and he just hung his head low and bit his lip. Woohyun balled his fists, pushing Sungyeol to walk through. As they staggered through, Woohyun heard Myungsoo’s name being thrown around and it made him grunt, with his eyes piercing, ‘Want to come any closer, punk?’
This somehow made everyone whisper more, making some of the nasty comments loud enough for the two to hear. Woohyun licked his lip and exhaled audibly. Sungyeol noticed and shot him a knowing look that made Woohyun shove his fists into the pockets of his blazer. Honestly, Woohyun was struggling to keep his fists from meeting anyone’s jaws and stomachs at that moment.
Suddenly, the whispering silenced and was replaced by slow footsteps.
Woohyun’s brow furrowed and he turned around in curiosity, to where the sound was coming from. When he saw who it was, he smirked - Student body president, Kim Sunggyu.
‘I don’t think this type of behaviour is acceptable,’ Sunggyu remarked smoothly, unfazed by all the staring he was receiving. He then halted his steps and stood in the middle of everyone, glancing around the crowd. His lip quirked as he said in subtle-but-not-so-subtle warning, ‘Gossiping and spreading rumours falls under bullying, and all bullying-related incidents are dealt with by me.’
After that comment, there were a few awkward clearing of throats and coughs. Then everyone went back to talking with normal voices about whatever the hell pleased them. Sunggyu casually walked past and as he brushed shoulders with Woohyun, he murmured in a singsong voice, ‘You’re welcome.’
Woohyun grinned to himself. Fuck, Sunggyu could be sexy at the weirdest of times.
-
Sunggyu was tapping away at his phone fourth period. Physics wasn’t one of his strongest subjects, but he was still ahead of everyone else and so he didn’t really care about reading through the textbook - not that he ever cared. As everyone was having some silent reading time (which wasn’t a rare occurrence since their teacher was kind of a lazy, procrastinating bitch), Sunggyu heard cackling and other strange noises from next door. He knitted his eyebrows together at the ruckus and excused himself from the classroom so he could check on next door.
After a quick knock, Sunggyu came into the art room and his eyes quickly found Sungyeol seated beside Yongguk at the back row. Sunggyu knew the students weren’t attacking Sungyeol in any way, but he saw that Sungyeol was looking somewhat down and decided that he’d cheer him up a bit with a little show.
The art teacher loved Sunggyu to bits and therefore grinned up at him and cooed in a high-pitched voice, pushing her glasses up, ‘Yes, Sunggyu?’
‘If I may, I would like to inform your students of something of great importance,’ Sunggyu requested with a small smile.
She gladly nodded and gestured him to the front. ‘You may.’
Sunggyu took in a sharp intake of breath before announcing with a scornful smile, ‘You little brats are being awfully loud. If I hear your hyena-like tribal chanting from next door again, I will contact you personally at lunch time.’
The classroom fell silent and Sungyeol snorted a little. Sunggyu tipped his head and said to the teacher politely, his threatening self nowhere in sight, ‘Thanks. I’ll be on my way now,’
He left and Sungyeol found peace in the silence for the rest of the class. He hated loud places, after all.
-
For some diabolical reason, Sunggyu and Woohyun’s threatening had spilled through the drain. Everyone was talking about Sungyeol and Myungsoo without a break. After stepping out of fourth period, Sunggyu witnessed all the gossiping, all the twisted stories, and it made him furious that they were doing this to Sungyeol. He told himself he needed to do something about it.
On the other hand, Myungsoo was absolutely fine. Myungsoo was at his locker without a care in the world, just minding his own business. He was accustomed to this type of treatment - everyone talking about him and not at him. He honestly didn’t give a shit. It’d happened so many times before he lost count.
Just as he closed his locker, he felt someone directly behind him. And so he turned around to meet eyes with his brother.
‘Kim Myungsoo,’ Sunggyu said bluntly, looking expressionlessly at his brother.
Myungsoo smiled a little - He couldn’t help it. Sunggyu hadn’t spoken a word to him all weekend and it was nice to hear his voice again. ‘Hey hyung,’ he greeted sheepishly.
Sunggyu didn’t reply and instead stared at him with a cold look Myungsoo had never seen before.
‘Hyung…?’ Myungsoo said nervously, feeling dread slowly creep up on him.
Sunggyu demanded in the same tone as earlier, ‘Meet me behind the bleachers in twenty minutes.’
Myungsoo’s eyes widened.
‘Even if you are only a second late, you’re dead.’

AN\ I love cliffies, don’t you? ;D I could just imagine this whole fic as a cheesy Korean drama with Sunggyu and Woohyun seeing the OST
