From this article, I learn about the transformation of translation which originally only a mere of delivering texts in another language considering a translator’s familiarity towards the texts style such as sentence structure, diction, and tone. Recently, many researches show that translation is ‘no longer a word for word substituttion’. Today, it is an activity of reproducing meaning in regard to both source language and target language, and also translators’ creativity. It means that translators, in the process of translation, must consider the language’s semiotic sources of the text such as cultural, historical, and social modes, and the understanding of the peope of the target language in their work. In short, creativity is the key for translation nowadays.
Therefore, it is very significant for EFL teachers to introduce the culture English speaking country and to make their students familiar with it in order for them to gain better understanding in learning English language. Teachers need to accustom and guide the students to explore their own creativity in interpreting the meaning of a word, phrase, or sentence in teaching and learning activity.
