What would you have done?
My car was in the shop this morning.
I had a dental appt. around noon, 1.4 miles from my office.
The shop *never* has my car ready before 2 PM.
I needed to get in a 1.5 mile run for my training program today.
The temp was 75 and it was partly cloudy.
I ran to and from the appointment, of course. 2.8 miles total. Scored a PR for 1 of those miles (8: ( Read more... ) -
Marathon Training Week 2 with bonus Boston coverage!
A day late, but nevertheless:
Mon: rest (walked around Boston Convention Center and Back Bay, probably 2 hrs worth)
Tues: 1.5 miles (Charles River Esplanade, Mass Ave Bridge) + 45 min walk + 15 min elliptical + weights + at least 3 more hrs walking (Southie, Museum of Fine Arts)

PSA: I'm going on a business trip this morning and won't have Internet access. I will be back online by Friday, wading through the work and home emails. :-)

So what did YOU do at lunchtime?
I walked 0.5 miles, ran 3 miles, and walked 0.5 miles. A fine way to spend 40 minutes. Now I'm eating a well-deserved and healthy lunch.
The weather is perfect for running...a bit windy for my taste, and it always seemed that I was running into the wind, but I'm far less sweaty looking for my 2:00 meeting so it's still a win. LOL

My first race!
Yesterday morning I ran a 2-mile race, my very first of (hopefully) many!
The start/finish line was 1 mile from my house (the course is actually a favorite route of mine), so I walked there at a good clip to warm up. The weather was clear and sunny, and about 55 degrees. There were several hundred runners (most there for the concurrent 5-miler ( Read more... )
