I hopped on here today to post an exciting bit of real-world news, and suddenly realized that I hadn't even seen my Friends page for nearly a month. Ayup, almost all of September has come and gone without my paying attention.

( Some of it is my own fault, the rest I blame on stress. )

Well, as much as I'd like to pop on here and bellow on and on about how wonderful life is and I have a new job and all that -- no. No, that isn't going to happen today. Ya know, it's funny -- years of schooling, 2 degrees and a $48,000 school loan in WV means "We can't hire you . . . you're overqualified!"

I can hardly hardly believe I'm saying this, but it seems that after years of technological advances, the best use Humans have come up with for a computer appears to be as glorified time-wasters. And of those many 'visions of the future', the worst of them all is Facebook.

20 years ago yesterday, my life was changed in oh so many ways. Looking back on it, even after all the insanity he caused during his final teenage years, I wouldn't change a thing. Everything he and what he brought into my life was worth it, in my opinion.

Happy Birthday, Boy Wonder. :D

So today was my cousin's funeral, and I knew it was going to be rough. Actually, rough isn't the right word for it -- my family is a tight knit bunch, and any loss by one is a loss felt by all. ( Break out the tissues )

Long ago, when my sister and I were growing up on the farm, we often were given the duty of entertaining/watching the whole flock of cousins visiting grandma. ( We were the oldest of the grandchildren. ) Which was fine, because all of us got along well and enjoyed playing fantastic games in the vast basement of my grandma's house. I saw the new Harry Potter movie the other day and, if you are a fan of the book, then you'll like this one. If not -- then don't bother to see it because it is a fairly faithful representation of the book.

Well according to those ghouls who know, Michael Jackson died of a heart attack today. Although I thought the man hmself was a tad . . . odd . . . I loved his music. Almost all of it. It's a damn pity he probably won't be remembered for his music but for the odd vagrancies that dogged his life in later years.

It's no surprise to anyone that I rather dislike working midnights. Aside from costing me my health, I suspect it also contributed to my marriage dissolving and my family breaking up. Nonetheless, I always strove to perform my job to the best of my abilities for the last 11 years.

After tonight, that won't be a problem. I was fired.
