Dungeons and Dragons receives a large chunk of my time and attention these days. We're about to see a bunch of new material with the release of PH3 in mid-March, and preview excerpts are drifting out as we speak. I usually spend *ahem* adequate time pondering these new releases, and I thought I might share some of those thoughts.

I went to the PH2 release World Wide Game Day yesterday before VegFest, and ( tried out the new Avenger class )

Random House has added some books available for free download, including Red Mars, by Kim Stanley Robinson. While it's certainly not for everyone, I'm a big fan of this book. Be aware that it's the first in a trilogy, and that it does have some slow parts, a great deal of detail, and more than a little optimism. It also has some serious (if made ( Read more... )

I'm looking semi-passively at Netbooks, and I'd love to hear any actual experience people have with them. I have an eeepc 701, and I'm happy with the concept and so-so on the execution -- the actual keyboard turns out to be too small for the uses I want for it. Congratulations and thanks to Beginner's Luck, for finishing the Hunt and saving us all!

We've arrived in Boston. Left Seatac 1hour late, had to run for connection in MSP. That flight sat for an extra 40 minutes before takeoff, arrived net 20 minutes late.

Flying seems less fun and friendly, more troublesome and work. Northwest has a stupid (sadly common) policy about baggage now.

I'll be flying in to Boston next week, arriving Thursday evening and leaving the following Monday afternoon. Much of the time will be spent attending ZyzzlCon 3009, but I also really want to catch up with everyone while I'm in town.
