01-01 [Marik #1]: Animal Farm
Ruka points out flaws involving rules against D-Wheels.
01-03 [Yuusei #3] | ["Orion"]: Piercing the Heavens
Ruka meets her third Yuusei [yusei_sama]. It's Kamina-Yuusei. He's a womanizer and makes Ruka feel distinctly ill-at-ease. Doesn't help that he calls big sis Aki a bitch.
01-03 [God]: I don't want to go to Broadway!
Ruka and Kazuki Takahashi talk. Ruka does not want to go to Broadway. The contract never ends. Whoops.
01-06 [Yuusei #4] |["Perseus"]: the Third King
This and the following Yusei thread overlap a bit for chronology, but no one cares. Ruka meets Third King Yusei [vacant_descent], who's more like Yusei with a darkness than anything else. Turns out that this Yusei has red highlights, silver eyes, split personality. In his world, Jack is dead, which horrifies Ruka greatly. They talk a bit about Dark Signers Ruka's nightmare, and she discovers that this Yusei spends his free time slaughtering innocent people in Neo Domino City out of grief. Ruka, naturally, freaks out at him over this, but being Yusei, she doesn't want to just abandon him. Even if he kills people. She breaks her promise to Jin and tells Third King that if he can duel the person he wants dead, all he has to do is turn it into a deadly Game of Darkness and wager his life, and win, in order to kill the other man. Ruka convinces Third King to let Yusei come forward, after which there are hugs and friendship speeches. They're not very effective. After this, Ruka tells Third King about the Dressing Room, and Dark Signer Kiryu. Third King promises to protect her (d'aww). Then they go to the D-Wheel track, Third King picks out a new bike, and then rides around for a while. He is in a good mood and he's not killing people! Obviously, Ruka is magic. After a couple laps, he invites Ruka to ride sidecar bitch seat behind him, so Ruka gets to ride a D-Wheel! ... down a staircase! This won't end well
Third King drives his new D-Whell through the building (with Ruka clutching on for dear life) until they find his apartment. Ruka takes a short nap, Third King cooks dinner, and d'aww domestic. This is when Ruka retells yet again the story of Leonie and the Brain Break deck, almost immediately after which Ruka freaks out at Third King for screaming cards. After nearly getting strangled for trying to steal his cards, Third King relents, Ruka talks to the Junk deck for a while. She comes back out in a trance, bullies Yusei into coming out, and then passes out shortly thereafter. Woo.
01-06 [Yuusei #5] | ["Andromeda"]: Big Sis Yuusei
Ruka meets yet another Yusei [yusei_san], who is -- SURPRISE -- a girl! She's also been horribly injured during her Riding Duel with Kiryu. After surgery, Yusei and Ruka talk over ice cream about Yusei's duel. When Yusei describes Kiryu's Earthbound God, Ruka realizes that she remembers it from one of her dreams. She explains the dream to Yusei. Also, more ice cream.
01-06 [Necrofear]: Tagging Yuusei
Although this post is earlier than the arrivals of either Yuusei #4 or #5, this thread takes place after. Ruka wants the Yuuseis to get name tags, because holy crap three in one week is a bit much. Ruka has learned to avoid people with Golden Sticks because this means they can brainwash her, (thus, avoid 'Marlick'). Ruka explains Dark Signers, who are now officially on Necrofear's enemy list due to the fact Ruka is so awesome, Yuuseis should be named after constellations (except Yuusei #1. He should be Polaris), and Yuusei #3 would get along fantastically with Haou #1. Ruka should introduce herself to Fruit Kaiser (though be careful, one of the Kaisers is really a zombie goat), Haou is really just Super Powers (though if Ruka ever finds out the real story behind Haou, please tell Necrofear), and any man spotted walking around half naked and shiny should be sent to Necrofear. (olesia loves necrofear threads due to all the exposition. ♥!)
01-07 [Yuusei #5]: To the bikes!
Ruka takes Yusei up to the garage and Riding Duel Track. By the way, Death Isn't Permanent.
01-08 [Aki #3]: Digital Monsters?
Ruka meets a new Aki [kurobaramajou]! Oh, right, these first-time conversations are always incredibly awkward.
01-08 [Rua #3]: Paraphernalia
Rua wants some Jack Atlas merchandise for his room. Ruka helps him shop.
01-08 [Johan #sbkjladsfkjdfs fuck I don't even know | "Blizzard Blue"]: ANOTHER ONE.
Ruka meets, gasp, yet another Johan (skewed_gem). Curse their lack of ever wearing name tags.
01-08 [Aki #1]: HOLY SHIT OFF-SITE JOURNAL STUFF.
It is highly probable that you have not read this! Ruka bugs Aki on her own journal, wherein they talk about Yuuseis, Ruka explains everything that she's learn about what happened to all of them after the Fortune Cup, and introduces Dark Signers. Aki comments that they're just like her; Ruka says Aki's nothing like them. Aki asks how she can be so sure. Ruka answers. CHARACTER BREAKTHROUGH?
01-10 [Aki #1]: Lttle girl lost
Aki #2 is missing. Crap!
01-10 [Aki #2]: FOUND NOW RUN; [Yuusei #4]: INJURED ACK
Dressing room gets a visit from ccapac_apu. Little Aki is scared and frightened, so Ruka rushes in and rushes her into the building, orz. Comes back out to see Kiryu stab Yuusei #4, and there is much hesitating on leaving.
01-11 [POST]: Aftermath of Ccapac Apu
Yuugi #1: Blushing; Ruka asks Yuugi about his time with his other self, and how he managed to separate them. This likely won't work against Perseus Yuusei, though.
Mokuba #1: They talk about Ccapac Apu, the weird way the library works and how there can be books on anything, and Ruka should practice killing things with Laser tag. Not Death-T style. Also, murder isn't cool.
Divine #1: Dark Signers are mostly harmless. Riiiiiight.
Divine #2: Ruka has no idea who tiny Godwin is, and thus fails at helping Divine identify his tormentor.
Juudai #2: Ruka's first human Juudai (sullied_scion)! This is insane. Why is he only a child, orz
Yuusei #5: Andromeda-Yuusei and Ruka talk about Perseus-Yuusei. Andromeda is stubborn. Ruka is more so.
Atem #6: Ruka meets a cat (furrypharaoh)!
Rua #3: Rua misses out on all the cool stuff, like giant monsters and duel monsters and people dying.
01-11 [Spirit of the Breeze]: Like a Duel for Humans!
Ruka meets one of her cards, Spirit of the Breeze (breezespirit)! during which olesia frantically checks her fanfic notes to make sure that said card is actually in Ruka's deck. Ruka explains the nature of the dressing room.
01-12 [King Moke Moke]: Fighting the need to nap
Ruka senses yet another Duel Spirit, so she ventures out and meets King of the Moke Moke (epicmarshmellow). Ruka needs to meet this Motegi fellow.
01-12 [ON-SITE POST]: Newspapers
Ruka reveals newspaper articles about her past; asks questions.
Aki #4: Ruka meets a Queen (ankhetisis), who tells her about ka beasts and despairs at Asiatics.
Mana: They talk a little bit about this Aknadin the Wise character, and the history of Duel Monsters. Mana offers to show Ruka her ka spirit sometime. Yay!
Necrofear: Necrofear explains that Duel Monsters are really the "best bits of a person's soul" that had been sealed away and later turned into trading cards. Ruka wonders what her own might look like; Necrofear mentions that she may not want to try it, as the process might kill her, but if she dies could she pick up some of those lovely chocolate aphrodisiacs from Heaven? But don't eat them. She doesn't explain what they are or why, so now Ruka's curious. Also, Ruka needs to have a birthday. Why not late spring?
Rua #3: He says he remembers more stuff about her duel than the others, and Ruka admits that she thinks his doubles might have gone home.
01-12 [Yuusei #4]: Jars and flames
Perseus-Yuusei is playing with matches, so Ruka joins him. They talk about books, Dark Signers (there's one that's a Bakura, watch out!), Godwin, and Ccapac Apu. They need to build a self-replenishing fruit stand. Ruka criticizes Third King's protective abilities if he's getting stabbed and burned everywhere, and thus come the metaphors. Third King is a Jar, Yuusei is an Insect, and Ruka repeatedly brings up the fact that Bugs in Jars Do Not Survive Long. Ruka and Third King are both pretty stubborn, though. Ruka thinks it's DID. But how does this explain different eye colors. Eventually they go to the fireworks store. Yay.
01-13 [Bakura #3]: Cooking and things
Ruka meets Honeysuckle-Bakura yet again. Hooray! They talk a little bit about cooking and (Perseus) Yuusei.
01-13 [POST]: Playing with Fireworks
Yuusei #4: Ruka and Perseus start the festivities by lighting a whole bunch of illegal fireworks. FESTIVITIES: STARTED
Yuusei #3: Orion joins the party!
Bakura #3: Honeysuckle and Ruka talk about their family lives: parents always away on business, siblings, fireworks. Lots of general life conversation.
Serenity: Ruka has a long-distance conversation with the actress Serenity (toohighpitched). Bandages are really light!
Yuugi #1: Yuugi looks a little hesitant to join the party, so Ruka has to drag him over for fireworks. Turns out that he's jealous of Perseus for making Ruka laugh. Whoops. They talk it out, then light some fireworks together; after a while, Yuugi asks about her glowing arm. Ruka mentions that it's a sign that she's technically in danger from Dark Signers. They talk about not dying, and Ruka brings up a word she read from Necrofear earlier. Yuugi flips out. She explains the situation, and Yuugi explains. After some teasing (Yuugi's cute when he's flustered), they light more fireworks and wind up holding hands. Daw.
Yuusei #5: Andromeda comes out, worried that Ruka's lighting fireworks. She notices that Ruka's fingers are singed from matches from an earlier thread, and she HEALS THE BURN. Ruka is surprised, and wishes she knew how to do that. Too bad Andromeda can't teach her. After a moment, Ruka notices blushing, and starts teasing. Yusei says it's nothing she needs to worry about until she's older, Ruka word-drops again, and Yusei flips. Whoops. They change the subject and watch more fireworks.
Kiryu #2: Ruka finally meets the "good" Kiryu everyone's been talking about (demon_kiryu). They go to light fireworks, and when she finds out who he really is, Ruka clams up a little. She relaxes, and she and Kiryu talk about Yuusei, Jack, and Satellite as a whole. When Ruka mentions that she has way more friends in the dressing room than she does at home, Kiryu tells her she has one more. Ruka really hopes this Kiryu doesn't go dark.
Mana: They go to set off some fireworks, and Ruka grills Mana on what summon ka spirits is like. Then she gets to meet Black Magician Girl. So cool. It's a lot of technical information, but Ruka would be totally down with learning how to summon ka.
Kiryu #1: Dark Signer Kiryu shows up. Ruka flees.
01.14 [Various-due-to-Party]:
Mokuba #1; Rua #3: Attempts at Laser Tag
Yusuke: Someone Ruka hasn't ever met before, Yusuke (shotasuke). He's seven, and he's lost his favorite card. Ruka promises to be on the lookout for it.
01.16 [Jack #3 | Ceres]: Another King!
Ruka meets a new Jack (speed_wings), from before the Fortune Cup! This should be an adventure.
01-16 [Rally #2]: Reverse Trap!--
Ruka meets her second Rally (also_a_trap), who's a girl this time. They talk a bit about dueling and stuff. FEMALE FRIENDS, YAY.
01-17 [Kuribbon]: KURIBON!--
Ruka runs into Living Manifestation Kuribon (ribbon_kuri)! Kuribon gets Ruka caught up to what's been going on since Yuusei left for Satellite, thereby catching Ruka up with the whole debacle at the Arcadia Movement, the Earthbound Gods, Misty Lola as a Dark Signer, and Aki's in the hospital! Divine #1 joins the party to save his reputation. And Ruka suspects that Dark Signers can hide their identities now. Augh.
01-17 [Yuusei #4]: You are a terrible jar--
Third King Yuusei has a burned arm thanks to a run-in with Ccapac Apu; she drags him to the hospital. He tells her about said run-in, and she flips a bit. They have a bit of an argument, but after Ruka stops out into the hallway and Yuusei gets his arm wrapped up, they go to the pet shop to look at kittens. Until Ruka freaks out at spider displays. Whoops.
01-18 [Jack #4 | "Eris"]: You're Perseus's Jack!--
Another Jack (blazing_ascent)! He comes in injured, and while Ruka tries (and fails) to get him to the hospital, she learns that he's the Jack from Yuusei #4's world! He explains what's been going on with him -- Dark Signer Puppet, hiding out, all that jazz.
01-18 [Aki #4]: I'm not dead! D=--
It's Crazy Mecha Aki (rin_kosuke)! Ruka overhears her name and wanders over; this Aki immediately falls to the ground in tears. What? Turns out that in this Aki's world, she and Yuusei had been mind-enslaved by Godwin, who had forced them to kill their world's Ruka. Whoops. Ruka tells Aki that there's no way Ruka can blame her for what happened; shortly afterward, Ruka gets caught at being not-Aki's Ruka, and then there are some epic Not Quite Kamina-esq friendship speeches going around.
01-18 [Yuusei #6 | "Aquila"]: This is new.--
Yet another new Yuusei (neuromimetic)! He's got a metal arm and wings. Ruka is not used to this, but she adjusts quickly.
01-19 [Yuusei #7 | "Hydrus" ]: MORE INJURED PEOPLE--
ALREADY? Yuusei influx, ahoy! (scrap_marker)! He's injured, and Ruka's attempts to get him to the hospital are not met with success. But, hey, hover-gurneys.
01-19 [Carley #1]: DARK SIGNERS. FUCK--
Ruka meets Dark Carley (darkfortunelady). Birthmarks go haywire. They have an oddly amicable chat, though. Until Ruka interrupts a duel already in progress. Dark Carley versus Ruka? Over Divine?! They go several rounds without making any impact, and Divine runs away after a while. A few turns later, Ruka convinces Dark Signer Carley to drop the game, and they go down for Depressing Ice Cream.
01-19 [Crow #3]: Ruka is President of the Welcoming Committee--
Crow number three (m_for_mischief) comes from just after delivering Yuusei safe at Macha's place. Ruka's glad to know he'll be all right in the home dimension, too.
01-20 [Tristan]: The Future of Dueling--
Ruka corrects Tristan Taylor (myvoicegivesme) on the finer points of eye anatomy, and on Riding Duels. He starts the conversation wanting D-Wheels banned; he ends it speculating giving it a try. Clearly, Ruka wins at persuasion.
01-21 [Divine #3]: Why are there Sparkly Vampires in my YuGiOh?--
Ruka meets Teenage Vampire Divine (sparkly_psychic). He proves very quickly that he fails at subterfuge, stating bluntly that he can read minds. Oh yeah? Well, Ruka accidentally turns into a psychic vacuum and sucks his soul into her Mental Sphere Duel Monster Spirit World. He gets told to Get Out Now, and threatened by a unicorn. He leaves. Ruka: 1; Divine: 0.
01-21 [Jack #4]: Hospital visits--
Ruka visits Jack in the hospital. While he's unconscious, she snoops to read his deck, and has a painful and revealing conversation with Red Demon's Dragon. When she comes out of it, Jack's awake. They talk about his dragon, hers (and her lack thereof), and other small matters.
01-21 [Pegasus]: Your game?--
Ruka explains the appeal of Riding Duels. Then realizes who she's talking to. Um.
01-21 [Ruka #2]: OMG A FUCKING DOUBLE--
Ruka meets her first double (littlesigner). Turns out she's the Ruka from Aki #4's world. Ruka explains the situation of the dressing room to her double, and over a course of questions and leading to the hospital room, learns that her double would also forgive Aki. Good! Ruka tells her that her double's own-world Aki is here. Yay.
01-23 [Necrofear; Rally #1; Yuugi #1]: Wherein Ruka Fails at Being a Girlfriend--
Starting off the day with Lady Necrofear, who sets Ruka's mind at ease regarding the upcoming dance. Ruka flushes and edges around the subject of boys when brought up; there's someone she wants to go with, but she won't say who. This is when Rally #1 shows up. He's nervous, fidgeting, and falls over. He asks something, and Ruka replies "Yes?" without hearing the question. Whoops. Ruka has acquired one awkward date to the Valentine's day ball! WHOOPS. So of course only five minutes later Yuugi shows up to ask her, too. SHE EXPLAINS THINGS AND IS HORRIBLY EMBARRASSED, ORZ. Yuugi seems okay with it, though. Ruka is a sucky girlfriend. AT ELEVEN TWELVE.
01-24 [POST]: Delicious Cookies are the Perfect Apology!
Ruka wants to make up to Yuugi for being a jerk and saying yes to Rally regarding the Valentine's day dance; bakes cookies. Yuugi #1 : TO BE FILLED IN WHEN I AM NOT BRAINDEAD.
