A few months had past and it was now Christmas. Luke was coming to terms with everything that had happened over the last few months; especially the heartache over losing Reid. But Luke was finally in a good place. Everyone was moving on, and trying to accept what Chris had done.
Luke was coming out of his bedroom of his own apartment into the kitchen; he wore a pair of old pants, but had left his shirt off. He was getting ready to go over to the Farm, wanting to spend Christmas with his parents and siblings, when he heard a knock at the front door.

Reid walked in and let the door close behind him. Luke held onto Reid and hugged him tight “I never thought I would be able to see or touch you again”

Luke looked deep into Reid’s eyes, and he ran his hands along Reid's chest, his fingers falling down to his shirt buttons, trying to get them open.
“God I hope this isn’t a dream?”
“I promise you Luke, all the bad that happened, is not happening again”

Reid came back to Luke because Luke’s love was pure love and not lust. Reid was never meant to die; he was supposed to help Chris but Chris used Reid’s help to only selfishly help himself. With Reid’s old rival all willing to help destroy Reid, in the end Chris ended up dyeing for selfish reasons and the heart got restored to its rightful place in Reid Oliver’s chest.
