Luke brings Reid’s stuff to his room and puts them down on the bed, looking though the photos. Luke blinked when he came across a letter that said “LUKE” He opened it and saw that it was a letter Reid had written to him.
Luke -
I just wanted to tell you that I fell in love with you the first moment I saw you back in the hospital. I know I was a total jerk to you, but that is because I loved you, and it scared the hell out of me. I promised myself I would never fall in love again. Then you happened.
I wanted to tell you I am sorry about Noah, I know he was your first love and I can respect that. I guess I was just jealous of the love you shared with Noah when I first came to town.
I just wanted to tell you that making love to you was the best thing; you have made me into a better person Luke. I wanted to make sure you were safe and I wanted to take things slow and to be careful, I didn’t want to hurt you.
I just wanted to tell you that I have thought about it, and I want you forever Luke, if you’ll have me.

Luke started to cry when he finished the letter, He knew from his dream that Reid wanted to spend forever with him but he couldn’t trust that dream could he? Was it a sign from Reid? Or was it just because he was so fucking drunk and crazy, missing Reid so much that his mind made all that up? But this letter proves it, Reid loved him so much, and he even thought about spending the rest of his life with him.
Luke had the box that he found the letter on his lap, and at the bottom box was a smaller box. Luke put the letter down on the bed next to him. He lifted it out and breathed deeply, he knew what the small box was, and Luke wasn’t stupid. He opened it and found another small letter; he took the letter off the ring that was sitting inside the box.
Reid -
This was my ring that your father gave me when we got engaged. I want you to take this ring and find someone you love and give it to him. I am so proud of you Reid; you’re everything I wanted and more. You deserve to find the one that makes you happy.
Mom
Luke started to get emotional again. He put the second letter down on top of the first one, and took the ring out of the box, he looked at it. It was a silver band. Very simple. Luke remembered a story that Reid told him about his parents, “My Family is simple, they didn’t want to all the bells and aisles when it came to their engagement or wedding.”
Luke couldn’t bear to try on the ring even if he wanted to. Just then Holden came and knocked on the door.
Luke looked up at him.
“Luke you ok?”
“Reid...he umm...” he lifted up the first letter and gave it to Holden to read.
“This is beautiful Luke”
“I … don’t know what to say...”
“Did you ever think about marring Reid or even moving in with him?”
“We were serious but this I had no idea...”
“If Reid didn’t die“, Holden sits on the bed, “and he asked you would you move in with him or even have married him?”
Luke looks down at the small box he was holding and breathed in “Yes”
Holden smiled and handed Luke back the letter, Holden noticed the small box in Luke’s hand.
“What’s that Luke?”
“Oh” Luke lifted the box and handed told him what was inside while he opened it .
“It’s a ring”
“A ring?”
“Yeah” Luke smiled “I guess Reid’s mother gave it to him and wanted him to give it to someone he loved”

It is the beginning of October and Luke is moving forward. He was going back to work, more than ever and he even wanted the Neurosurgeons wing to be named after Dr. Reid Oliver.
Chris was COS at the hospital and the board had no problems with it. Luke worked with the hospital off and on, Luke’s foundation was doing well, he reached out to other people to make his company world known and even the Grimaldi shipping as well. By mid October Luke’s foundation and Grimaldi shipping was one of the world biggest company in the United States.
Luke and Chris were getting along better. Katie moved out of her house in October as well to move in with Chris. Luke moved into his own apartment. Casey moved into his own apartment but didn’t marry Allison, she moved away. Casey got a new girlfriend who both Luke and Casey hanged out with. Noah happily lived in LA working on films like crazy. Noah even made a coming out story about himself and dedicated it to everyone in Oakdale, and to Luke.

One night Chris was sleeping with Katie and dreamed about Reid.
Reid was helping him with his heart, making sure the meds were right and that no one was wondering what was going on, Reid lied for him, he lied to Katie, he lied to Luke, he lied to Bob. Chris started to feel guilty again.
Now Chris was standing on the side of a road, what road he had no idea. He could see lights from afar. It was Reid, he was driving. Chris wanted to stand in front of his car so he would stop; Reid was still alive and if Chris would stop Reid, then Luke didn’t have to lose him. But Chris couldn’t move, and Reid dove past him. Chris yelled for Reid but that didn’t affect anything.
Suddenly Chris wake up and sat up in bed and breathed in deep and fast like he was running a marathon. Katie wake up and asked Chris “What’s wrong?”
Chris looked at Katie in shock.
