Title: A Place In The Sun

Summary: Ueda finds himself on a bus going to who-knows-where, and his traveling partner is none other than Nishikido. What does the summer and this trip have in store for them?
Warnings: Nothing really, except for some silliness and maybe some out of character… and maybe some bad grammar and misspelling.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot, but I sure wish I owned more...
A/N: Okay, so somehow I managed to get time and write for you all even though I have lots to read for school. And please excuse me for the silliness in this one; I really don't know what came over me when I wrote this chapter…

Chapter 21
The lunch had gone through peacefully in the company of Akame, Nakamaru, Junno, Yamapi and Shige. The food had been great but there had been one thing that had been a bit uncomfortable and that the suspicious looks that they had received from their company when they had both turned up with scarves around their necks. And it surely was stranger now that the sun had come out just in time for lunch. Kame had just given them a big grin, since he was the only one, well except for Ninomiya; Ueda figured, that was aware of the development in their relationship and he probably knew what they were trying to hide. Well Ueda was trying to hide it, Ryo had wanted to walk out and proudly show everyone the mark that had been planted on him, but Ueda had protested. He had forced a scarf around Ryo's neck and since he was stronger Ryo hadn't been able to fight back. So now they were both covered with scarves making them sweat more than everybody else in the summer heat.
"Ne, what do you guys say about going to the beach for a few hours?" Yamapi asked when they got out from the restaurant. "I mean the sun is out and it doesn't look like it will run away from us again"
"I'm in" Jin said and smiled brightly as he a purple pair of the sunglasses that he had bought earlier. "How about everyone else"
"I don't think so" Ueda answered as his hand subconsciously started to fiddle with his scarf. "I'm not really in the mood"
"Aw come one Uepi" Junno pleaded. "Don't be such a spoilsport"
"Yeah come on" Ryo said putting his arm around Ueda's shoulder. "You don't have anything better to do now do you?"
Ueda turned his head and glared at him before he pushed the arm away from his shoulder.
"I said that I don't wanna go and that's that" Ueda said and started to walk away from the others leaving them all dumbfounded. Ueda hadn't meant to get that annoyed but he seriously didn't feel like letting everybody see his hickeys. They would be teasing the living daylight out of him and Ryo too, didn't he realize that?
He hadn't walked that far when he heard someone running up behind him and soon a hand crashed down on his shoulder. Ueda stopped and turned his head slightly to see that it was Kame with a big grin on his face.
"Are they really that bad?" Kame's asked.
"What do you mean?" Ueda tried to play dumb but of course Kame could see right through him.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about" Kame said and started to fiddle with Ueda's scarf. "They are the reason you don't wanna go to the beach right?"
Ueda didn't answer he just continued on walking but Kame followed him and wouldn't let the subject go.
"You know I can help you cover them." Kame said. "I have an amazingly good foundation that you can borrow. Ryo can borrow it as well"
Ueda stopped again and faced Kame with a skeptical look upon his face.
"Don't give me that look" Kame said put his hand back on Ueda's shoulder. "It really is amazing, and waterproof as well. I wouldn't be able to walk around like this if I didn't use it"
Ueda still didn't say anything but his raised eyebrows and widened eyes said it all, he was surprised and maybe a bit confused.
"Yeah, what can I say, I have to hid the places Jin's been visiting" Kame smirked "Or I would look like a map over the Okinawa islands"
"Oh…" Ueda finally uttered and then he started to walk again and Kame followed after him.
"So, if you let me take a look at them" Kame continued on the subject. "I'm sure it's nothing too bad."
" I'll let you have a look back at the hotel" Ueda said a moment later. "Okay? But no teasing!"
"Of course" Kame said with a grin. "So… how did it happen?"
"What?" Ueda said dumbfounded, and he wasn't acting this time.
"You know; Ryo and you finally getting together" Kame explained with a smile. "It must've been sometime last night, right?"
"Oh," Ueda said and almost blushed again for the second time that day. "Yeah, last night after Ryo kicked Yamashita-kun, Taguchi and Nakamaru out from our room" Ueda smiled at the memory and then the dame broke and he told Kame everything. Everything that had happened from the point they had gone out after gas and up till now. Well he let out on the more specific details since he thought they were too personal to share.
He talked and talked, and when he finally had reached the end of the story he realized that they were standing outside Akame's hotel room and he blushed slightly. Kame just smiled and the let him inside before he dragged him into the bathroom closing the door behind them incase Jin would arrive back. And since everybody probably would come back to grab their beach equipments something like that would much likely happen. He pushed Ueda down to sit on the toilet seat before he started to look though his vanity bag.
"Aha!" he said in triumph seconds later as he took out a small container with what Ueda presumed must be the foundation that could work miracles.
"Now, take of the scarf so that I can examine the damage" Kame grinned as he faced Ueda.
"I said no teasing!" Ueda glared at Kame but did what he was told and slowly pulled away the scarf.
"Oh" Kame said as the hickeys were revealed in front of his eyes. "Ryo surely know how mark his things"
"Shut up!" Ueda said through gritted teeth. "And just start working"
"It's only those three that needs to be covered right?" Kame asked as he opened the container and started preparing for the task ahead. "There are no marks on any other part of your body, right?"
"No!" Ueda said a bit offended "We haven't done anything that X-rated"
"Okay, no need to get offended" Kame smiled and kneeled down in front of Ueda. "I was just making sure. Of course you haven't gone that far yet. After all you're the first man that Ryo's with, right? And he probably wants to take it a bit slow. Now stretch your neck as much as possible so that I can see better"
8 minute later Kame had managed to cover it all up and there was no signs of the hickeys anywhere on Ueda's neck.
"So, you can take this with you to Ryo if you want" Kame said standing up and handed the small container to Ueda. "I'm sure you've given him some good bites as well and anyways I have another with me so you can keep this one."
"Oh, thanks" Ueda said accepting the gift as he got up from the toilet seat. "So, well I guess I'll be leaving now"
"Yeah" Kame said and opened the bathroom door at the exact same moment that Jin arrived back.
"What were you two doing in there?" Jin asked suspicious as he saw Ueda standing behind his boyfriend.
"Nothing that you should bother your sweet little brain with" Kame smiled as he walked up to Jin and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. "I just helped Ueda out with something"
"Yeah" Ueda smiled slightly. "And I will be leaving now. Ryo is back as well?"
"Yeah, we're all meeting up for the beach in about twenty minutes" Jin said wrapping his arms around Kame and Ueda couldn't help but smile at the sight in front of him.
"Okay, thanks" Ueda said and opened the door. "See ya"
"Bye" Kame and Jin replied back as Ueda left them alone.
"Where you've been?" Ryo asked and stopped packing his things together when Ueda walked into their room a few minutes later.
"I just got us something" Ueda said and took out the container he had got from Kame from his pocket. "Kame gave it to us"
"What is it?" Ryo asked walking up and eyeing the container with suspicion.
"Some kind of miracle foundation" Ueda answered. "It's great for covering marks"
"Oh" Ryo said and grabbed the container from Ueda eyeing it more closely but suddenly he adverted his eyes at Ueda again with by wide eyes. "Kamenashi know about us?"
"Oh, uh, yeah" Ueda answered as he started to fiddle with his hair nervously. "I… he noticed the hickey earlier… and uh well you're not the only one who's had someone knocking some sense into you…"
"Ah… so that's what you two been doing" Ryo grinned and handed the container back to Ueda. "Help me cover these things up now will you?"
"Huh?" Ueda asked surprised over that Ryo didn't put up any resistance when he just a while ago hadn't seemed to care if someone saw the marks.
"I'm doing it for your sake" Ryo smirked and made his way into the bathroom. "So smile and be happy. And I really don't feel like arguing right now"
Ueda blinked a few times before a smile appeared on his face and he followed Ryo into the bathroom.
"Ah, you decided to come!" Junno beamed when Ueda and Ryo arrived down at the lobby. He standing there waiting with Yamapi and Shige with his red beach ball under his right arm.
"Yeah," Ueda smiled at their friends before he turned his head to face Ryo and their eyes locked for a brief second. They shared a quick smile and then he faced their friends again. "I realized that if I didn't come with you guys I would have anything to do, in other words I would be bored out of my mind."
"So Jin and Kamenashi haven't turned up yet?" Ryo asked.
"Obviously" Shige answered and Ueda noticed how Shige seemed to give them a searching look, a suspicious look. "Why aren't you wearing your scarves anymore?"
"Yeah, I noticed that too!" Yamapi cut in. "You seemed so keen to wear them before"
"If you haven't noticed we're on our way to the beach" Ryo rolled his eyes. "We're not as stupid as to wear something like that to the beach, not in this heat at least. Bakas!"
"But… then why were you wearing it before?" Shige asked his eyes going back and forth between them.
"We do not have to defend our choice of clothing to you" Ryo smirked and wrapped his arm around Ueda's shoulder. "And anyway didn't we look drop dead gorgeous in them? So if you so desperately need to have a reason there you got it"
Yamapi, Shige and Junno didn't know what to reply to that and if they finally came up with a good comeback they didn't have time to say it before Akame showed up with bright smiles on their faces and slightly ruffled hair and swollen lips.
"Let's get going ne?" Jin beamed as they joined the group and knocked the red ball from Junno. "The beach is waiting for us"
"You're sucha kid sometimes" Ueda commented before he grabbed the ball from Jin and handed it back to Junno "But you're right, the beach is waiting. The last one to the beach is a turtle" and with that Ueda grabbed a hold of Ryo's hand and made a run for it.
"Hey!" Kame said offended by Ueda's last comment and rushed out after them. Jin, Yamapi, Shige and Junno didn't quite grasp on what was going on but thought it was best to just follow the other's and made a run for it as well.
"What did we run for?" Jin panted as he, Yamapi, Shige and Junno arrived at the beach. Yamapi and Shige were slightly out of breath too, but Junno looked like he hadn't been running at all.
"I just felt like it" Ueda smiled as he pulled of his t-shirt and threw it down at his bag. "I haven't really been running for days"
"But we ran yesterday" Ryo commented kicking of his flip-flops.
"That doesn't count" Ueda replied. "We ran cause of the rain"
"So what you mean" Jin cut in flabbergasted, his breath back to normal again. "Is that I ran like crazy just because you felt like it? And in this heat?"
"Yeah, but doesn't it feel great? And it will be so much more refreshing taking a swim now" Ueda smiled grabbing a hold of Ryo's hand. "Let's go"
Ryo nodded and then they made a run into the sea leaving their friends behind on the beach staring after them.
The water splashed around them and their laughter rang in the air. Ryo was the first one to fall over but since he was holding Ueda's hand he dragged him down with him and they ended up under water, Ueda slightly on top of Ryo.
"You're it" Ueda said as he got back up from under the water and started to run away from Ryo.
"What's with your playfulness all of a sudden?" Ryo said a bit confused brushing his hair out of his eyes and then he started to chase Ueda.
"You don't like it?" Ueda asked looking at Ryo from over his shoulder only to realize Ryo had almost caught up with him already.
"It's not that I don't like it" Ryo said throwing himself forward at Ueda and got a hold of him around the waist making them both fall back under water again.
"Cause I do" Ryo said with a smile as they got back up again, his arms still around Ueda's waist. "It's just a bit strange"
"Yeah, well I guess I'm just in a good mood" Ueda said turning around in Ryo's arms to face him. "I mean how could I not be? It is summer and I'm on the beach with someone that I lo- I mean like"
"You said you like me" Ryo grinned pulling Ueda in a bit closer.
"Who said I was talking about you" Ueda teased and playfully hit Ryo on the upper arm.
"Who else would you talk about Princess?" Ryo said and leaned in for a kiss but Ueda stopped him by putting his hand over Ryo's mouth.
"You can't kiss me here, we're in public" He hissed and freed himself from Ryo's arms before he gave him a slight pat on the shoulder "You're it again"
"Hey!" Ryo cried out as Ueda started to run away from him laughing.

"Who else would you talk about Princess?" Ryo said and leaned in for a kiss but Ueda stopped him by putting his hand over Ryo's mouth.
"You can't kiss me here, we're in public" He hissed and freed himself from Ryo's arms before he gave him a slight pat on the shoulder "You're it again"
"Hey!" Ryo cried out as Ueda started to run away from him laughing.
