That night, Dongwoo had dragged Howon to his house. Honestly, Dongwoo was terrified to be home alone and his parents having a date night didn’t exactly help his fears. Having Howon there helped though. It helped a lot.

Howon took it as a perfect opportunity to talk seriously with the older boy, since they were alone. What Sunggyu had told him had been on his mind since lunch and he had hours to think it over. Perhaps Dongwoo would get bored of him.

As soon as Howon sat on the couch, he asked, ‘Do you love me?’

Dongwoo almost rolled off the couch from shock. ‘W - What?’ he sputtered, not sure if he misheard of not.

‘Do you love me?’ Howon repeated, still with the straightforwardness that had Dongwoo stunned and thrown off balance.

Dongwoo looked at him, at every detail. Howon was being serious - He was always serious - and Dongwoo knew very well that he could never lie to the other. He couldn’t lie to anyone, really. Howon would know the answer without him speaking, but Dongwoo replied anyway, quietly with a hint of blush on his cheeks, ‘Yeah…’

Facing the switched-off television, Howon gazed at Dongwoo through the dark reflection. Howon had no clue what love was or what it felt like, but Dongwoo made him feel something he’d never felt before. Dongwoo was the only one who made him feel and if that wasn’t love, Howon didn’t know what love could possibly be.

‘I love you too,’ he said, hoping it was the right thing to say and it was what Dongwoo wanted to hear.

Dongwoo immediately smiled, laughing nervously. His fingers met Howon’s sleeve, tugging the thin material up. His fingertips trailed along the scars gently, leaving an almost tingling feeling on Howon’s skin. ‘So what does this mean?’ he murmured softly, his fingers finally lacing with the younger boy’s.

‘Are we dating or are we past that stage?’ Howon asked with that same expressionless tone.

Dongwoo raised an eyebrow at him. ‘Is that what this is about?’ he questioned. ‘Howon, I don’t care what we’re labelled as. If someone asks what you are to me, I would just tell them that you are someone who is very special and someone I treasure a lot.’

Howon’s brow furrowed. He then felt his hand being lifted up and Dongwoo’s soft lips run along his scars, making Howon remember that Dongwoo was the reason he stopped.

‘We don’t have to be categorised,’ Dongwoo whispered against his skin, smiling sweetly as Howon’s fingers twitched from his skin being tickled by his breath.

Howon’s expression softened as he stated, ‘But I want to call you my boyfriend.’

It was kind of a big step for either of them - It had been a while since Dongwoo dated and Howon never had a boyfriend before. And for Howon, it was his first time opening up to someone new. He’d only talk to Sunggyu and Sungjong, but Dongwoo came along and changed everything. Rather than it being foreign and scary, it was exciting and actually really comfortable.

It was happiness.

‘If that’s the case then I’m your boyfriend and you are mine. You’re not allowed to hug anyone else now,’ Dongwoo chuckled jokingly, latching onto Howon’s arm tightly.

Howon mentioned in confusion, ‘I don’t hug people…’

‘Exactly,’ Dongwoo sniggered, kissing his boyfriend’s cheek.

They spent hours that night just talking and running their bare fingertips against each other’s skin. They didn’t kiss much, only gentle swipes of each other’s lips followed by Dongwoo giggling at the weird sensation. They hugged a lot though, Howon letting Dongwoo straddle him and wrap his arms around his neck. Dongwoo was warm in his arms. He was comforting. He made him forget to check the clock. By the time they realised it, it was midnight and Howon’s mother was texting him about his whereabouts. Howon didn’t mind staying at Dongwoo’s house, knowing that Dongwoo hated being home alone, but Dongwoo insisted Howon go home and look after his mother.

Dongwoo walked Howon over to the door after he put his shoes and coat on. As Howon was about to bid him a goodnight, Dongwoo crashed his lips onto his, seizing the opportunity to kiss the other properly. Howon stiffened at the contact, taking note that Dongwoo was being a lot more forceful than the last time they kissed. He also took note of the use of tongue.

Dongwoo’s hand found refuge in Howon’s hair, keeping the other close, while the other hand slid down to Howon’s chest. His head tilted, allowing his tongue to drive through Howon’s lips, but Howon was relenting. Dongwoo smirked and instead pressed his tongue against Howon’s teeth, making the other grip his waist tighter.

Another ten minutes or so were used up at the door, tasting each other, before Dongwoo pulled away, letting Howon breathe.

It took the younger boy a moment to regain his senses. ‘G - Goodnight,’ Howon stammered, somewhat in a daze.

Dongwoo laughed and finally let him out. ‘Goodnight.’

-

During third period, Sungjong and Woohyun were arguing about God knows what, irritating their math teacher to no end. Usually, the two boys would sit with Myungsoo, but Myungsoo was being weird and sitting in the corner of the classroom and not communicating to anyone. Woohyun found that strange because Myungsoo would normally flirt and muck around with just about everyone.

Just when the teacher was about to separate Woohyun and Sungjong, the door to the classroom opened. When the students saw who it was, they all silenced.

Woohyun smirked immediately, seeing Sunggyu roll his eyes at him as he approached the teacher. ‘Excuse me, but may I please borrow two of your students?’ the student body president requested politely.

The teacher clicked his fingers and sighed in relief. ‘Perfect. Nam Woohyun, Lee Sungjong, go. You’re annoying me,’ he spat.

When they stepped out of the classroom, they saw Sungyeol and Dongwoo waiting for them in the hallway.

‘Why are you guys here?’ Sungjong questioned, giving Dongwoo a hug just because.

‘I had a free period and I was bored,’ Dongwoo chirped.

Woohyun put Sungyeol in a headlock and asked, ‘You?’

After screaming and kicking everything, Sungyeol managed to get out of Woohyun’s hold with no hard feelings. ‘I hate math, but I love Sunggyu,’ he cooed, making Sunggyu smile.

Sunggyu began walking down the hallway and the other boys naturally followed behind. Woohyun quickened his pace to walk alongside him, asking, ‘Why did you call us out, anyway?’

‘There’s an assembly fifth period and I need help with the chairs.’

-

The chairs weighed a fucking ton.

When they stepped into the theatre, Sunggyu instructed the boys on how the chairs were to be set out and where. The problem was, Paran had a lot of students and they all just had to be born with asses.

After a few rows were complete, Dongwoo was already sweating. ‘Isn’t the committee meant to do this?’ he panted, setting two more chairs down to complete another row.

Sunggyu had his blazer thrown onto the stage and his tie thrown over his shoulder. He unfolded another chair as he explained, ‘I’m in charge of assemblies, so usually I do this myself.’

Sungyeol frowned at him.

With a chuckled, Sunggyu added, ‘The school is getting new chairs soon, since the old ones were falling apart. Once they are installed, they’re there permanently. This is the last time I’ll have to do this, so don’t worry.’

‘Well, I can see why your punches are so hard,’ Sungyeol commented, ‘Not as hard as Woohyun’s, but still hard.’

Sunggyu lifted his head up and met Woohyun’s eyes. ‘Oh really?’

Woohyun waved his hands in denial. ‘No -‘

‘Yeah! Sungyeol’s ex-boyfriend went bye-bye in one punch,’ Dongwoo exclaimed, jumping up onto the chair and hopping on Woohyun’s back, ‘Sungyeol and I are lucky we don’t piss Woohyun off.’

Woohyun rolled his eyes and corrected, ‘You do piss me off. In fact, right now -‘

‘Woohyun could probably kill with three punches, now that I have calculated it in my magnificent brain,’ Sungyeol bragged, tapping his skull with his finger in emphasis.

Sunggyu looked over at Woohyun again with a small smile.

‘See what I have to put up with?’ Woohyun hissed, throwing Dongwoo off safely onto one of the chairs. Sunggyu had to admit that Woohyun had some great strength there. And strength meant muscles too, right?

As Sunggyu strolled passed Woohyun, he whispered, ‘No matter what you say, they’re still adorable.’

They continued in silence, all working on different areas of the theatre, making sure the seats were in neat lines. When they had just a few more rows to go, Dongwoo accidentally knocked over a chair and it fell onto Sunggyu’s leg. Woohyun saw Sunggyu’s pained expression and jumped over the seats to get to him.

‘You okay?’ he muttered, pushing Sunggyu to sit down and picking up his bruised leg. He then rolled up the trousers and inspected the damage.

Sunggyu leaned down the tug the fabric back down, insisting, ‘I’m fine.’

Woohyun didn’t relent and continued to pester him, ‘Want to get an ice pack?’

‘No, it’s fine,’ Sunggyu insisted more sternly this time, standing up to show it was okay.

Sungyeol snickered at the scene and teased, ‘Sunggyu-hyung doesn’t like touching. He thinks it’s weird.’

The oldest student’s eyes narrowed and then he turned to Woohyun and stated, ‘I change my mind. Dongwoo’s cuter.’

They carried on after that, eventually making it up the stage where the seats were set out differently, behind the podium. Woohyun easily picked up a chair and threw it over his shoulder, placing to onto the stage. ‘What’s this assembly for again?’

‘We have a whole school assembly every two months. Selected people get awards and recognition and such. Not exactly a big deal, but the school board treats it like a formal occasion,’ Sunggyu answered, straightening the rows. The ones of the stage were the most important, after all.

‘It sounds boring,’ Woohyun scoffed.

‘Well, we do miss a period of class for the event,’ Sunggyu argued. He then lifted his head and smirked at the younger boy, saying smoothly, ‘I’m going to be on stage the whole time, so I’ll try to entertain you.’

Woohyun thought to himself, ‘He’s a fucking tease.’

‘Just kiss already,’ Sungyeol groaned.

Sunggyu snorted, ‘Dongwoo’s definitely cuter.’

-

At the start of lunch, Woohyun gestured Sungyeol to follow him to an unknown location. Sungyeol secretly followed, pretending he was just going in the same general direction. The two boys eventually stepped into the emergency staircase, Woohyun hands in the pockets of his trousers.

‘Grasshopper,’ he said as he turned around to face the younger boy.

Sungyeol tipped his head. ‘Yes, sensei,’ he replied.

The corner of Woohyun’s lips lifted as he stated, ‘I have a challenge for you.’

‘Whatever it is, I accept,’ Sungyeol said confidently, excited to be given a challenge after such a long time.

‘The assembly… Certain people get awards, right?’ Woohyun sighed in thought, pacing back and forth with his chin in his hand.

‘Yes.’

‘I want you to bend a few wires.’

‘What do you mean?’

‘We don’t know who’s already on the list and if we take out anyone it would be obvious, but we could always add to it. Add one person.’

Sungyeol crinkled his eyebrows together. ‘Who?’

-

‘Hi,’ Dongwoo giggled, seeing Howon at his locker.

Howon gave him a small smile in return, closing the door securely.

Without a word, Dongwoo jumped onto him and wrapped his arms around his neck. They had a stupidly pink aura around them that made Sunggyu cringe. Dongwoo sang into Howon’s ear, ‘Did you sleep well?’

Howon replied with a nod and his arms wrapped around the older boy’s waist, holding him tighter.

Sunggyu shook his head at the scene and muttered to Woohyun, who was beside him and watching the new couple too, ‘It’s interesting how they’re almost as barf-worthy as you.’

‘Almost?’ Woohyun sneered in disbelief. Sunggyu was mean at times.

Sunggyu leaned over to him and whispered with a glint of playfulness in his eyes, in a deep voice, ‘Actually, they’re far from it.’

Woohyun’s breath caught in his throat and he choked a little at Sunggyu’s seductive toothless grin. After regaining his composure, Woohyun murmured back, matching Sunggyu’s expression and tone of voice, ‘Have I ever told you how sexy you are?’

‘I think you’ve mentioned it before,’ Sunggyu answered, unwavering.

Unexpectedly, Woohyun pushed Sunggyu into the lockers and placed his palm flat against the metal, trapping Sunggyu as he whispered hotly in his ear, ‘Well, just a reminder that if you don’t be careful, next time I’m taking you to work, we might have to take a pit stop so I could fuck you senseless in the backseat.’

Sunggyu shoved his face away and scoffed, ‘You’re unbelievable.’

As Sunggyu began walking away, Woohyun called out, ‘But you like that, don’t you?’

And so Sunggyu flipped him off for the first time that day.

-

The assembly had been going for half an hour and most of the West campus students were on the brink of sleeping. Woohyun had forced himself to stay awake for the awards, until he realised the list went from freshman to seniors. He drifted in and out of sleep until he heard that the seniors were going to be announced. He immediately slapped Dongwoo awake, laughing about how he choked on his own tongue for a while.

The principal read out the first name, ‘Yoon Doojoon, for his potential in sports, his leadership as the school’s new soccer captain, and his politeness as a new member of our school community.’

Doojoon then walked onto the stage and shook hands with the principal. He then walked passed and shook hands with Sunggyu, who handed him the certificate.

‘Congratulations,’ Sunggyu said into his microphone - Woohyun fucking loved how his voice sounded through the speaker. He then smiled sweetly, tilting his head a little, and Woohyun could’ve sworn there were a few sophomores in the first few rows who swooned.

‘Thank you,’ Doojoon said, stepping into line.

Dongwoo rested his head on Woohyun’s tensed shoulder and pointed out, ‘I have to admit, Sungyeol’s cousin is pretty good-looking.’

‘Shut it,’ Woohyun growled. Jealousy sure wasn’t pretty.

The principal read out the next name, ‘Lee Sungjong, for his excellent history grades and improvement in politics.’

Dongwoo and Woohyun shot out of their seats and began cheering Sungjong’s name, whistling and trying to create a chant to embarrass their younger friend. (Yongguk was in the row in front of them and turned his head around to mouth threats and curses.) The teachers shot glares at the both of them, not that they cared. They were West campus and they didn’t give a shit about what teachers thought.

Woohyun enjoyed the sight of Sungjong’s reddened face when he stepped onto the stage and received the award. Sungjong deserved the embarrassment, in his eyes.

‘Congratulations,’ Sunggyu said, patting Sungjong’s shoulder.

‘Thank you, hyung,’ he sighed, annoyed at the two in the audience.

Without further ado, the principal carried on, ‘Lee Sungyeol, for his improvement in psychology and literature.’

Woohyun and Dongwoo did the same as they did to Sungjong, except this time, Sungyeol indulged in the applause and took a big bow, making everyone laugh at how silly he was.

‘Congratulations,’ Sunggyu chuckled, handing him the certificate.

‘Thanks, hyung!’ Sungyeol chirped before jumping onto Doojoon and almost making him tumble backwards.

‘Lee Howon, for…’ the principal pushed his glasses up and squinted to read the text in his hands. He read it out unsurely, ‘Because he’s the man?’

Woohyun began clapping, dying of laughter because Sungyeol was an amazing grasshopper.

‘I can’t believe he actually did it,’ Dongwoo giggled, showing a thumbs up to Sungyeol who showed it back from the stage.

‘Sungyeol’s seriously amazing,’ Woohyun complimented, saluting Sungyeol. They watched as Sunggyu awkwardly handed a confused Howon the certificate that read Lee Howon deserves this because he’s the man, yo~ ^o^ and shook hands with him.

The next name came, ‘Kim Myungsoo, for his improvement in psychology and literature.’

Woohyun and Dongwoo only applauded as the rest of the school did, knowing it would be awkward with both Sungyeol and Myungsoo up there because, well, Sungyeol was fucking in love with him.

Sunggyu didn’t smile this time as he congratulated and shook hands with the recipient.

Myungsoo swallowed thickly and his eyes darted around. With a deep breath he requested, ‘Gyu-hyung, can I please borrow the mic?’

‘Excuse me?’ Sunggyu exclaimed, watching as his brother snatched the microphone from his hands.

The audience began whispering to each other until Myungsoo shushed them. ‘Everyone, please be quiet.’ He announced, ‘I have something to say.’

Woohyun snapped, ‘What the hell is he doing?’

‘I have no clue,’ Dongwoo replied, shaking his head slowly as they both watched attentively at what Myungsoo was going to do.

Myungsoo turned around and saw as Sungyeol flinched at him. ‘Lee Sungyeol,’ he called softly. ‘I love you too.’

The whole school froze.

‘W - What?’ Sungyeol stuttered, not sure what was happening.

‘That night… You told me you loved me… I’m finally replying.’

Sungyeol’s eyes watered at the bright lights of the stage, his heart racing at the audience with their eyes on him and Myungsoo’s sudden confession. His fingers twitched as he saw the genuine look on Myungsoo’s face - the crinkled eyebrows and non-existent cheeky smile that used to be there all the time. He didn’t know what to do or say, so he waited for something, anything, to stop this.

‘I love you too,’ Myungsoo repeated almost desperately, ‘I love you, Sungyeol.’

And with that Sungyeol remembered all those times Myungsoo hugged him and kissed him and told him he was adorable… And how those things meant nothing to Myungsoo at all.

‘So?’

‘So…’ Myungsoo trailed off, taken aback by Sungyeol’s suddenly snappy tone.

Sungyeol began tearing up as he scorned, ‘Why do you deserve me to care whether you love me or not?’

He then ran off stage and out of the theatre, bumping shoulders with Myungsoo in the process. The whole school could practically hear Myungsoo’s heart shatter as he passed.

-

What Sungyeol didn’t know was, Howon ran after him. Sungyeol ran into the nearest restroom with Howon trailing him closely. Once the door shut and Sungyeol noticed someone was there, he grabbed onto them. He didn’t care who it was, as long as they weren’t that jerk, Myungsoo. Howon let Sungyeol embrace him and cry into his shoulder. It was a strange feeling to Howon - He didn’t know how to comfort people.

‘I hate him… I hate him so much,’ Sungyeol sobbed, his voice choking from the tears as his grip tightened around the back of Howon’s blazer.

Howon knitted his eyebrows together. ‘Why?’

‘I hate him for confusing me like this,’ Sungyeol mumbled, continuing to cry because Myungsoo hurt him so much.

-

‘I’m sorry.’

‘Why?’

‘I hugged Sungyeol today.’

‘Howon, you’re allowed to hug people.’

‘But yesterday -‘

‘I was kidding, silly. Are you coming over tonight?’

‘Do you want me to?’

‘Do you want to?’

‘…Yes.’

-

‘The assembly today… Wow,’ Woohyun exclaimed, staring at his ceiling.

Sunggyu laid on his bed and sighed, recalling the assembly. ‘I know what you mean,’ he huffed, blowing the hair out of his eyes.

Woohyun sat up and praised, ‘Your brother has balls.’

‘My brother’s completely insane and self-destructive,’ Sunggyu scoffed, not exactly amused at what went down that day. Myungsoo didn’t say a word afterwards and went straight home and straight into his room. He didn’t eat dinner either, so Sunggyu naturally nagged him. He didn’t answer, however, and remained in his room doing what every teenager does - wallow in self-pity.

A subtle smile graced Woohyun’s lips. He was actually extremely proud of Myungsoo for doing what he did, not that what he did would reverse anything or make anything better. But nonetheless, Woohyun thought the guy was finally growing up a little. ‘But he’s kind of romantic, don’t you think?’ Woohyun mentioned.

‘Call it whatever you want,’ Sunggyu snorted, ‘I call it insanity.’

-

As Sunggyu walked out of his room, he noticed Myungsoo’s door slightly ajar. Without thinking, he opened it and saw him lying on his bed, playing a racing car game on his portable device.

‘You had a lot of courage to do what you did today,’ Sunggyu said, alerting his brother of his presence.

‘Courage had nothing to do with it. It just came out,’ Myungsoo spat, turning his game off and placing it on his bedside table.

Sunggyu’s lips pressed into a thin line at that answer. ‘So you meant it.’

Myungsoo finally gave him some eye contact.

‘Because you didn’t think, it means you didn’t lie, right?’

It was logical and things like this were never meant to be logical, but Sunggyu was right. He aced psychology, after all.

‘You really do love him.’

Myungsoo shook his head and chuckled to himself bitterly, ‘But there’s nothing I can do about it now.’

Sunggyu smiled and walked over, sitting on the edge of his bed. ‘Oh Myungsoo, there’s always something one could do,’ he persisted.

‘Like what?’

‘Like not toy with people anymore.’

‘Done. What else?’

Sunggyu placed a hand on his head, ruffling his messy hair, and answered simply, ‘Wait.’

‘For what?’

The older of the two brothers stood up and sighed, ‘To see if Sungyeol thinks you’re worth all the shit you put him through.’ He closed the door behind him, leaving Myungsoo to slowly untangle his thoughts from his desires, his wants from Sungyeol’s wants.

-

‘They’re calling you the one that changed the almighty Myungsoo,’ Woohyun mentioned, arm wrapped around Sungyeol’s shoulders as they stepped through the school gates.

Sungyeol was pouting, his arms crossed tightly over his chest as he stomped. ‘I’ve heard,’ he snapped.

‘Still mad at him?’

‘Yeah…’ he mumbled, ‘How about you?’

‘Yeah,’ Woohyun sighed, ‘I still want to beat him up.’

‘He wouldn’t last one punch from you,’ Sungyeol said, still with the angry pout. They stepped into the school building and expectedly, everyone was watching Sungyeol. He didn’t even care anymore, so he ignored them.

‘Aw really? I think that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me,’ Woohyun cooed, pinching Sungyeol’s cheek, making him squirm and flail everywhere until he got off.

They separated to their lockers - not that Woohyun had anything to shove in there anyway. He still refused to do assignments and homework because he was Nam Woohyun after all. He had a reputation to keep.

He looked down the row of lockers and saw Sunggyu at his. ‘Hey cutie,’ he greeted sinfully.

Sunggyu got his textbooks and tipped his head to the side as he replied, with a challenging smirk, ‘Dig a hole and die in it, idiot.’ He then walked away with Howon, leaving Woohyun to watch him and check out his ass for the umpteenth time. It was funny how Sunggyu was yet to notice that Woohyun perved on him every chance he got.

Sungyeol appeared out of nowhere with a raspberry lollipop in his mouth. ‘Do you like Sunggyu or is my intuition tapping in on some cheesy summer romance movie?’ he spat out all at once, an unreadably blank expression on his face.

The question made Woohyun think. He’d never actually thought about Sunggyu in that way. In his opinion, Sunggyu was attractive. He was a goddamn tease, he was intelligent, he was never boring… But did that mean Woohyun liked him? Maybe he did, but then again maybe he didn’t. Woohyun didn’t know what it felt like to actually like anyone seriously.

‘I don’t know,’ he concluded.

Sungyeol narrowed his gigantic eyes and growled, ‘Don’t be complicated. I’ll eat you.’

‘You’ve tried before, remember? You said I tasted bad and used half a bottle of my mouth wash,’ Woohyun deadpanned.

‘Dongwoo tastes better. You taste like trash.’

They began walking to class slowly, Sungyeol dreading the thought of going to accounting.

‘I wonder what Sunggyu-hyung tastes like,’ he pondered out loud, making Woohyun almost shit himself.

‘What?’

Sungyeol did the hallelujah face. ‘So you do like him! You’re jealous that I want to eat him,’ he exclaimed in excitement, the lollipop falling out of his mouth.

Woohyun furrowed his brow at how insane his friend was and pinched his cheek again. ‘I’m not jealous. It’s just insane that you want to taste different people like they’re laid out on a platter for you,’ he muttered matter-of-factly.

Sungyeol commented, ‘Your grammar is a lot better since you’ve been talking to Sunggyu.’

‘Myungsoo calls you Sungyeol, not Yeol,’ Woohyun changed the subject, sick of hearing him and Sunggyu being paired up when there was no inkling of a relationship there to begin with.

Sungyeol almost collapsed just by hearing Myungsoo’s name. ‘What does that have to do with anything?!’ he shouted, acting like he was picking a fight with the older student.

‘He addresses everyone by their second syllable. Why do you think he calls me Hyun and Sunggyu Gyu? He’s that lazy,’ Woohyun explained uncaringly, ‘He calls every teacher Teach, so why does he bother to call you Sungyeol or skyscraper?’

Sungyeol blinked rapidly at that.

‘Before you get your panties in a knot, remember that I’m not good at this stuff and it’s not anything big, but it’s something.’

-

‘Myungsoo,’ Sunggyu called, shaking his brother to wake up.

The younger brother rolled around, muffling himself with the pillow. ‘Hyung, I have a free period. Can’t I come to school later?’ he groaned, throwing the duvet over his head.

Normally, Sunggyu would say no to such request and demand Myungsoo to come to school and at least study in the library, but he knew Myungsoo probably couldn’t sleep last night and let him off on condition. ‘Make sure you wake up though. If you come late, I’ll kill you,’ he threatened.

Howon was standing in the doorway, waiting. Sunggyu approached him, muttering, ‘Let’s go.’

‘Wait,’ Howon said.

‘For what?’

‘Breakfast.’

And then Sunggyu realised he was hungry because he hadn’t eaten in ten hours and probably should have if he didn’t want to pass out. ‘Why do I always forget to eat?’ he grunted to himself, storming to the kitchen.

-

After a quick but fulfilling breakfast, the two boys began walking to school. As they were walking down the footpath in silence, Sunggyu suddenly felt Howon pinch at his school blazer and pull him towards the other side of the path - the side furthest from the road. When Sunggyu realised why he did that, he rolled his eyes and huffed, ‘Why is it that everyone thinks I’m fragile? You’ve seen me handle delinquents double my size before.’

Howon could be overly protective of him when the time didn’t call for it. Not only was it annoying, but it was absolutely unnecessary, in Sunggyu’s opinion. What exactly did Howon possess that he didn’t?

‘Yes, but I’ve never seen you handle a truck,’ Howon countered merely.

‘You’re absurd. I’m not going to be hit by a truck.’

‘I’m sure someone would think that two seconds before being hit by a truck.’

Sunggyu decided to ignore him because he knew his friend could be unrelenting at times - especially recently since Dongwoo had somehow gotten Howon to talk more… which meant argue more. He instead started talking about a different matter. ‘Howon, I predict Myungsoo is going to be very gloomy for a few days, perhaps even weeks, or so,’ Sunggyu informed. ‘Be nice to him.’

Howon rose an eyebrow. ‘I’m always nice to him… You’re the one who needs to be more understanding,’ he retorted.

Sunggyu scoffed, ‘Well, I’m sorry that I have not been in love before to have empathy towards the horrid brat.’

‘And so the episode starts?’

‘Which episode is this?’

Howon cracked a little smile. ‘The episode where Nam Woohyun changes all of that.’

‘Lunatic,’ Sunggyu spat in disbelief. When the hell would Howon leave him alone about that idiot, Nam Woohyun?
