I did go out shopping on Black Friday, but only thrift stores. I don't get the rabid frenzy of it all, especially the weirdos with the matching team t-shirts saying "Shop 'til you drop." Nocturna was great. There were about 600 people again. The costumes weren't that great. GG Allin was the best costume IMO, but dumb Edward Scissorshand won again. So cliched. How Come 90% of the bicycling assholes in Chicago all ride fixed gears? These are the people who ride in the middle of the street, on the wrong side, on & off sidewallks, blow off stop signs, lights, and then get indignant when they almost get hit. darkcreachr & I did the Muddy Buddy 2009 race this morning. It was so much fun! It's a 7 mile race of alternating biking & running through a wilderness area between you & your muddy buddy. I'm back at kung fu, the 1st time since my European excursion. Strangely, I didn't lose anything in that month, and even made gains in the Chinese (side) splits.[1] I think it's from doing isometrics in the doorway every day (lay down put the sides of your ankles against the frame and push out for 60s).
