19 Indiana

Indiana Jones is awesome. Indiana, not so much. As Ohio's western neighbor, it's pretty much always been a drive-through state for me on the way to other, more interesting, places. I've driven that stretch of I-90 along the northern border more times than I can count. Most of the my overnight stops in the state have been crashing with friends as I passed through. I've done two nights in South Bend; one with AK en route to jenny31978's wedding, another with KJF and Kitten as my sister and I neared the end of our Alaska to Atlanta adventure. I also did one night in a girl's dorm at Purdue University as I slept in stephywang's room on the way from somewhere to somewhere else.

The only trip I've made specifically to a location in Indiana was in 2007, when I attended the Phi Kappa Theta Convention in Indianapolis, very close to downtown. Jimi and I drove down from Cleveland, with stops in Columbus (Wayne & Jen) and Urbana (Neal & Rachel). Then Jimi flew home, and I drove back myself with a stop in Dayton (Ryan & Elisa). The convention itself was fine; I didn't see too much of the city but we did watch Barry Bonds break the career home run record while we ate dinner at some bar.

Most recently, Neal, Rowan and I drove through en route from Urbana to Chicago and back.

So yeah, nice enough state, but unless I'm missing some obvious attraction, I've no burning desire to go back.
