The place that Sephiroth brings his alt to is, while neither his version of Gaia nor the Nexus-base of his assorted fellows and friends, at the very least in a relatively quiet part of the Nexus and far away from where Zack's would likely be able to overhear. When one likes to hang around in the Nexus and haven't told your coworkers back at home about the Nexus, having a good place to hang out and wait out the LOLs is a very good thing. The fact that there's a Sephiroth in the Nexus is hardly any surprise - as there's anywhere from one to five there on any given day, but this one is still comparatively new to the Nexus.
And for the moment, he'll just be busy trying to get a feel for the contained chaos of the place, as he wanders idly through.
