45 It wasn't until Minho got in the bathroom that he realized he had an extremely inappropriate problem. He made sure the water of his shower was especially cold as he cleaned up. He spent a lot of time scrubbing over his scar, fascinated still by the unbroken skin.
By the time he was done in the shower, his mother was awake. When he stepped into the kitchen, fully dressed for the day, she gave him a surprised look.
"Do you have somewhere to be?"
Something was nagging at Minho's mind, and he just knew that he shouldn't tell anyone about Onew. The logical thing to do would be tell, right? Or not. Maybe anyone who he told would think he was crazy - maybe he was crazy. He decided he'd have to check under his bed very shortly.
"I'm going to the library." Minho said, making the abrupt decision that research was in order.
"But the library won't even be open yet." his mother responded, raising a brow.
"Later.." Minho said, "I woke up from a nightmare, I think I needed a shower.. the heat was left on."
It was weird, how ordinary their conversation was after that. Minho still felt strangely exhausted, but better after he had breakfast with his family - throughout which he was quiet, and thankful that his older brother had a very interesting dream to talk about. As he listened to his brother talk, it almost made it seem likely that what happened before was a nightmare.
"Honey," Minho's mother said to him as he was helping her clean up dishes. "You're not going to the library by yourself, are you?"
"Hm? Oh, yeah. By myself."
She frowned at him, "Why don't you invite Taemin?" then she smiled, seeming to like her idea very much. "Then you two can come hang out here, play video games."
Minho smiled at her falsely. He wished she wouldn't worry about his social life so much. Ever since they made the move closer to Seoul, he'd been a bit too busy to do the hanging out thing. Taemin was his younger neighbor, and while he was perfectly cool, they were probably not likely to become the best of friends. Taemin was into weird things... and anyway, Minho would make plenty of friends when he got on his school's soccer team.
"I'm just gonna be studying. Taemin wouldn't have fun."
"You're studying? During Spring break?"
"I don't want to get behind, mom." Minho paused, then said with a laugh, "I'll play video games when I get home, promise."
She laughed, and soon enough the dishes were done. Minho walked back to his bedroom, and opened the door just a crack, peeking in.
Beneath his bed, he could plainly see Onew's sleeping face. He quickly closed his door again.
Somehow, he felt like the "library" wasn't going to help him with this problem. No, he should tell his parents what happened, and have Onew taken away to the mental hospital he belongs in.
Yet when he thought of that actually happening, his spine tingled unpleasantly. Okay, well then... library it is.
