45 !This is possibly the chapter that I've written the fastest (and that's saying something cause I swear I spend less than a half hour on these lol), so I'm posting it kind of suddenly. XD Hope I still agree with it later.
----------------------------------------
Minho was glaring between his computer game and his window. The sun was already down, so why wasn't Onew awake?
All day, he'd felt awful. His family went on a picnic, which would have been fun even in the cool weather if only he didn't have this nagging feeling like something was wrong with Onew. What the hell kind of nightmare could be bothering the vampire this bad?
Finally, Minho got up, throwing the blanket up so he could see Onew. The vampire wasn't sleeping at all. He was glaring red eyed at the bottom of the bed, until the cover was lifted, and those red eyes turned on Minho. "What?"
Minho was shaken, and he left the blanket on the bed so he could keep watching Onew as he stepped back. "You aren't going to get up?"
Onew just sighed, looking back at the bed. "What's the point?"
"You need your own clothes and I have to show you around so you can find your own.. food, tonight." Minho stated matter of factly.
Onew glared, but crawled his way out from under the bed. "I have to find a new place to stay. It's not safe if your family finds out about me."
"I don't want you to leave." Minho said without thinking, and then blushed, but Onew simply replied, "I know." Then, Onew grinned at Minho, penetrating the serious moment. "Since you have a crush on me now."
"I absolutely do not." Minho responded, subconciously puffing out his chest and balling up his fists.
"The fact is," Onew shrugged it off, "it's not safe for you or your family if I stay here."
"You care?" Minho asked, genuinely surprised by the suggestion.
"I care very much about you, Minho." Onew replied, meeting his eyes. They were the soft eyes that he showed, in Minho's opinion, not nearly often enough. The eyes that made him look completely human.
"Because we're bonded?" Minho asked.
Onew gave a small nod, "That's how it works. You're mine, and I'm yours." His voice was gentle, a tone unfamiliar to Minho, when he asked - "Can't you feel that?"
Minho couldn't respond. He shifted uncomfortably, knowing what Onew said was true, and feeling very much like it was the equivalent to some love spell. "Can we be.. unbonded?"
Onew wrinkled his nose, returning to the demonic thing Minho had come to know. "Not unless I bond with someone else, or unless one of us dies. For the record, if I bond with someone else, or if I die - you die."
"I die?" Minho asked, horrified.
"You die."
Minho quickly sat on the bed, "That can't be right..."
He knew Onew had changed his life, absolutely, but to think now that one day he could just drop dead unexpectedly because somewhere this vampire had.. decided on a day time stroll...
"Don't consider it a death sentence." Onew said, "Your humanity is the death sentence, not your bond with me."
"This isn't fair. I didn't ask for this, in fact, I.."
"You can soon pretend you never met me, and life will go on as usual for you. For now, you have to show me around."
No, this was all wrong. Minho needed to stay with Onew. Every fiber of his being told him that much, as much as he hated it. He couldn't possibly just forget Onew existed, especially considering the way he would randomly feel Onew's emotions and--
"As we spend time apart, our bond should fade." Onew told him, apparently understanding his panic.
"In that case, it can go away, and it won't kill me?" Minho asked.
"I doubt it, but it's possible. No vampire has ever been able to spend much time away from their bonded."
Minho felt uneasy, but he decided to take that as a challenge. "Fine. Then we'll be the first."
Onew nodded, "There's no reason why we shouldn't be."
Minho seemed to calm down, and Onew decided it was the perfect time to get back on track. "So what am I wearing today?"
Minho scowled, wondering if yet another outfit would be stained with blood.
