Onew didn't flaunt his wealth at the hotel as he did at the shop. Minho vaguely wondered if he'd pulled some kind of weird mindtrick on the shopkeeper and the credit card was a fake... but he also wondered why he didn't do that here.

So as they walked out of the hotel, he asked. "Couldn't you be in some suite or something?"

"Yeah. I could be a lot of things." Onew looked annoyed, but Minho could tell it wasn't at him. He considered questioning it, but thought better of it. If it was a subject Onew didn't like, he'd probably just say something smart anyway.

"You should go home." Onew suddenly said.

"Now? Already?"

"I have clothes and a place to stay~. There's a lot of people around tonight, so eating won't be a problem."

Minho cringed. "You won't bond with anyone else?"

"No."

"You won't kill anyone either?"

Onew straightened a bit, saying, "Probably not."

"Then," Minho said the opposite of his thoughts, "Promise you won't come back."

"No."

"But if we want the bond to fade.."

Onew finally gave Minho his full attention, and Minho realized that was such a rare thing that he was surprised by it. Especially when being looked at with those soft eyes...

"I'm yours." the vampire said, "And you're mine."

Minho nodded, "You said that.."

Onew's voice was quiet, though not a whisper. It was just soft, like his eyes, and even caring. "I can't promise that I won't check on you. To make sure you're not getting into trouble, if nothing else. I don't want to abandon you."

The clenching in his heart, the feeling that rushed over Minho, it made him want to throw his arms around Onew like a girl and yell for him to stay with him. He resisted, of course, in fact he wasn't sure if he could bring himself to move at all. He stood there awkwardly, staring at his vampire.

Then finally, Onew repeated, "You should go home." he turned away, looking towards the crosswalk. He added, quietly, "Be careful." and then he walked away.

Minho couldn't bring himself to move right away. He stood there on the sidewalk, getting funny looks from anyone who passed by. He wasn't exactly sure what else to do. Just walk home? Now of all times? Everything would go back to normal, except for maybe getting the occasional visit from a vampire?

He didn't know how long he stood there, but he realized when he looked at his watch that he had plenty of time to spare before his curfew. Somehow, that made the aspect of walking home now seem even more empty.

He looked around, but Onew was nowhere to be seen. He didn't even have a cellphone number to contact him at. Nothing.

It made him feel lonely, to say the least.

It was with that horrid feeling that he walked the way home, hating that every step was one step further from his vampire.
