20 Mississippi

I've never actually slept overnight in Mississippi. Four of the times I entered the state were during the two times I drove from Cleveland to Louisiana; in some of those cases we stopped for food and gas but I can't really say I did anything else there.

Fortunately, as alluded to in my discussion of Tennessee, I attended a wedding in Northern Mississippi. Our hotel was in Tennessee (at least as far as I remember) but the wedding and the reception were both in the backyard of the bride's grandparent's house. I had plenty to eat and drink, so I think that's full credit right there.

But that's it. Five visits, less than 24 hours total. I have no idea what sort of cultural attractions are in Mississippi that might justify additional visits. Certainly the music might have enticed me, but all the old bluesmen are long dead. So can anyone else justify a trip to Mississippi?
