Out of Olvoski, into Splendor
MAY 2011
• Arrival. He meets a
man, bloodied and smiling on his earliest trek through the city. (15+)
• Home.
Edel arrives just in time to explore with him (15+), soon finding an
under-the-weather Luke in one of the many rooms.
• A
woman's voice rings out of the seal - the first of many to come.
• His second foray into talking with the seals starts with
a young Yamamoto.
• Confident enough to try and speak to the community as a whole,
Alex offers a pleasant greeting and asks for help, earning
Edel's name (15+),
a funny misunderstanding from Suzaku,
free answers from Church (15+), and
a bit of clarity from Natalia.
• Not long after, Alex veers into the Metropolis district and encounters
Makoto and her pitching machine. A conversation ensues (6+)
• He spares a moment to
grate Edel's nerves some more before going off to explore more. Along his way, he comes across
Rapunzel, happily enjoying the paint bubbles in play, and strikes up a curious conversation (15+).
• Returning home all a mess, he has a confrontation with housemate
Arabia, resulting in a brief paralysis and foray into property damage. He's not too happy about that (15+).
• So bothered and itchy for further damage, Alex
takes to destroying his room and wishing its recovery repeatedly, interrupted by housemates now and then (6+).
• Not long afterward, he comes across
a swordsman and his companion, strangely alluring but completely disengaged. Alex decides to try and change that, only to endure his first round of magical violence buzzkill from the Witch and Splendor's nonviolent ways. It's not a fun revelation (15+).
• So it's back to the castle to regroup a little. At that time, he encounters castlemate
Rob, stricken by a troublesome blue bean projecting his thoughts. It's funny for a moment, but grating for the long run. Who cares about rhubarbs, anyway (15+)?
• Only a couple days later,
some weirdo crashes into his room. Huh!
• The rest of the month is littered with shadowing and stalking, trying to sniff out what's really foul about the city and its citizens of all shapes and sizes. He's getting antsy.
JUNE
• Aforementioned stalking patterns are interrupted when Alex
discovers the ocean - a massive, terrifying presence that reeks almost as bad as the rest of the place. He is followed by
Sync, stumbled across by
Firo (15+),
Raki, and ultimately subduedaccosted by
Jast (15+). Later,
Edel finds him and puts a close to the beachside antics for the day (15+).
• Unsettled, Alex resumes stalking. In the night, he starts tailing
Jack and Cerbos, at last finding someone(/thing) so blatantly wrong, that it shouldn't be any trouble to bleed it, right? But things have not come to pass just yet (15+).
• That's not to say he hasn't been trying since his Splendor-smackdowns against the Witch and Jast. He
returns to the Gilded Castle with his face a beat-up mess after trying to kill a few magical critters that make up Splendor's fauna, his wounds ultimately tended to by his now somewhat-friend Edel (6+). Complaining ensues.
• Said complaining warps into a
conversation starter with the rest of the community who will indulge him.
Edel,
Cerbos (15+),
Agent Washington and
Zelos indulge, and
Arabia is on-hand to taunt (15+).
• After a few good days of bloodying himself up and ruining his attire,
Edel takes him to get a new shirt, and...somehow earns himself friend-status (15+)?
• He later decides to
advertise his new friend-thing to inquiring voices, as well as finding time to
scrutinize Luke for his occupational ambitions.
• The month ends rather tamely, though there is plenty to keep his mind occupied. Too many strange contradictions...
JULY
• In the earliest days of July, Alex encounters
newcomer Kaori, looking for a little entertainment and finding...well, a little (15+).
• He's not bored long, however. The entire city is blackened in an eclipse, and Alex, invigorated by the very distinct decrease of magic in the air, goes
stalking and walking. He encounters
Lloyd and
Agent New York briefly (15+) for brief moments, though he took more interest in tailing
Riku and
Ruca (15+). He
gave Edel a scare on the way back to the Castle, naturally, because all friends must be abused (15+). He exchanges
spooky information with Rapunzel before much of his activity during the long dark is done (15+). Even so, he does not let the opportunity of a changed environment keep him from experimenting. Throughout the long dark, Alex took to trying to harm the Splendor fauna he'd been forbidden to, only to find...he still couldn't. Life sucks!
•
And then Alex planted a black bean.CORE EVENT: BLACK BEAN MASSACRE
• Alex manages to slay one of the forbidden animals, and in his idle victory, winds up summoning his familiar, Fexis, who goads him onto a spree to bring bloody death to those suspicious creatures he'd tailed in the past.
• It all beings in the
Golden District, where
Tsuna is injured and
Riku killed.
Black Saw and
Lloyd cross his path for scuffles before the scenery changes in retreat.
• In the
Alpha District,
Trunks is accosted on the way to killing
Ruca (15+) and
Rin (15+).
A small fleet of fighters and healers alike show up to engage before Fexis drags Alex along again.
• They move to the
Wonderland District, where
Firo is killed as Rion watches and
Prince Siegfried is strangled by the fountain (15+).
Juvia discovers and engages the boy and mongoose until their escape.
• They wind up in the
Metropolis District, where
Makoto is assaulted along the way and
Shirley killed.
Trunks takes on the fight until Fexis pulls away (15+), completely investing itself in Alex until a last fight with
Hiruma and Tsuna (15+), ultimately resulting in its downfall.
•
Cerbos encounters the body and takes it with intent to eat, but Edel finds them and gets to confiscating. He
steals Alex away and is witness to his death and revival (6+), and takes it upon himself to hide the body and help him recover safely.
END EVENT
• As Alex recovers, he and Edel get into on-and-off
spats about the killings, his shitty attitude, and all sorts of flustery things (15+). Alex spends a few days more recuperating until his feet are well enough for him to climb, and then it is
to the roof to address the listening world.
•
Chii provides rather unexpected questions, while Alex finds an interestingly familiar facet of home (with a twist, as is the case in Splendor) in
Black Saw (15+). Edel returns
with ice cream and tries to urge Alex to present himself before an upcoming congregation to make his case (15+). He also hears word from
Agent New York, while being a dumbass with on-hand law enforcer
Trunks.
