2006 in review.
January - March

Veronica Mars arrived on the island on January 18th, 2006. She was greeted by Ariel and William Bush; the latter invited her to join others in attempting to build a boat and leave the island, and she agreed. Certain that her father would find her sooner or later, Veronica refused to settle into island life. She took a room in the compound which she shared with Hermione Granger. Still thrown by some aspects of her new location, Veronica canon-punctured Hermione without realizing what it meant. She would never make that mistake again. During these first two weeks, she met Dr. Robert Chase.
In February, a small crew set out on the boat they'd built in what became known as Boatplot. They were less than successful, however, and were turned back by a storm. Back on dry land, Veronica was lucky enough to miss the effects of Bread Day. Island karma, apparently, made up for this by giving her jury duty on the Voldemort trial. On the 22nd of February, Veronica received her first item, a series of photos taken on the night of Homecoming in 2003, mere weeks before the break up with Duncan and Lilly's death. It was at the end of this month that she first met William de Worde.
March found her starting to accept island life despite herself. She met Johnny Storm early on and developed her first island crush, although she never did anything about it, still entirely devoted to Duncan. She also met Sam Seaborn, who would, for a time, prove to be one of her closer friends. Other important friendships were formed in April. On the 21st, she Jim Halpert; on the 22nd, she met Arya Stark and immediately began her lessons in water dancing. She met Padme Naberrie and Maladicta, as well.
This was also the month when she underwent her first Crackplot weekend, Genderswitch. It continues to rank high on the list of things she's disliked about the island, and she point blank refuses to talk about it to most people, although she later made an exception when Dr Toshiko Sato spent a weekend in the body of Lilly Kane.
April - August

April began with the continuation of Veronica's least favorite April Fool's prank, Genderswitch. Although she took a few days to herself to recover from its effects, she was back in full form on the 8th for the first Snarkfest, the unofficial name used to designate a joint post featuring Veronica and Maladicta.
After taking a week off from compound life, Veronica returned to find that the island had brought her someone from home. The arrival of Logan Echolls started a series of unfortunate events. Her growing sense of belonging on the island was shaken by seeing him again, and by the easiness with which they settled into the old pattern of banter and hurting each other. It was also the first she had heard to make her believe that some form of her was still in Neptune, since Logan came from a time after Veronica; he told her she'd been accepted into Stanford University, a college she'd longed to attend since elementary school.
It only got worse the next day, when Logan received his item - the sex tapes of Lilly Kane and Aaron Echolls - and accused Veronica of bringing them to the island. What started as a fight about Lilly ended with Logan kissing Veronica in the rec room. Although she broke it off, it somehow still led to making out in her bedroom. Logan was the one to walk away, a fact that didn't sit well with Veronica.
In the week that followed, she had Maladicta cut her hair and met River Tam for the first time.
May opened with Veronica and Logan making up and out. After some tentative attempts at being friendly, they wound up on the roof of the compound, quietly coming to terms with their feelings for each other. It was the start of Veronica's first on-island relationship.
It was on that day as well that Veronica was canon-punctured when Jim found a copy of TV Guide that mentioned both their shows. Determined that no one they knew should find it out by accident, they burned the magazine. From that afternoon, Veronica and Jim were much, much closer.
Five days later William and Jim were kidnapped. Veronica joined the search parties, relieved when the men were found soon after.
Homeplot happened not long after.
In June, Veronica ran for a position in the Council and lost. She also joined the IBI. On the 20th, she and Logan broke up when Logan told her he'd slept with Alcuin no Delaunay. Apparently they'd had different ideas about just what the relationship was, Veronica's more serious than Logan. The end result was that Veronica didn't speak to Logan for over a month. Despite the feelings that surged up for him again from time to time, she would never get back together with him. Each was convinced the other had ended the relationship.
July saw Veronica spending much of her time in isolation, visiting only her closest friends and doing little. There are no logs for this time.
On August 6th, Veronica found Duncan on the island. The two were back together at once, as if nothing had happened in the meanwhile.
August 10th, Wallace Fennel arrived on the island. He was just in time for Veronica's 19th birthday, which she celebrated with Jim and birthday pancakes. She attended Bennet Ball 06 (at which Pam told Veronica that she and Jim had become engaged), met Becky and her decapitated head, and signed up for the pirate crew of the Black Pearl.
Her relationship with Logan continued to be difficult. They made bad bets over pool and he told her she was kissable, neither of which exactly made things easier. She also met Neil McCormick for the first time.
September - December
September | October and November | December
September started with Veronica's second canon puncturing, when she stumbled across Wallace watching footage of episode 2x20 "Look Who's Stalking." Watching the episode, she discovered she might have chlamydia, a fact she later verified through a private appointment with Chase. They never saw the end of the episode - Veronica had Wallace turn it off shortly after the infamous "Epic" speech.
The month also brought two more from Neptune, arriving back to back. On the 9th, for better or worse, Veronica was reunited with Dick Casablancas. The next day, Weevil arrived.
Opposite!Plot started in the middle of that month. For the space of a weekend, Veronica was turned into a sweet, innocent little girl, naive and adoring, certain of the beauty of the world. She held a tea party attended by Anamaria, Buffy Summers, Dr. Greg House, Joe Dick, Miho and Voldemort among others. Carter Duryea spent the weekend as rough, cruel gangster stereotype, choosing Veronica for his dumb blonde moll; it went a little too far at the tea party, but Weevil cut in and a fight broke out.
A few days later, Veronica and Logan set out to burn the lacy dress she had worn during the weekend. It accidentally came out that she had known about their fictionality before he had and never told him. Logan told her that if she didn't let Duncan know before a month was out, he would tell him himself.
In early October, Veronica found out she had made Captain Jack Sparrow's pirate crew, but the pleasure of that discovery was obscured by memories of Lilly's death. On that day, she sat down with Duncan and told him about the chlamydia and their origins as a TV series. Neither went over too well with him.
Distraction came quickly, however, when she and Wallace went for a walk on the beach and came across Lilly Kane, arrived on the island exactly three years to the day of her death. Life on the island was completely changed from that moment forward. The realization that she was suddenly the older of the pair shook her.
On the 12th, Veronica met Sam Winchester. It didn't seem like much to her at the time, but the meeting would wind up effecting her greatly in later months as the two of them became closer. She was present, later in the month, for his canon puncturing.
On October 22nd, she attended the wedding of Jim and Pam Halpert, where she acted as the maid of honor.
In November, Veronica Mars was elected to the second Tabula Rasa council. She spent Thanksgiving with the Halperts. She also attended the island's first theatrical production, The Tempest.
Snowplot began in December. Jim taught her how to play in the snow, using Pam as a target. Logan informed Veronica that he and Neil were engaged, a conversation which ended badly. Veronica was more upset about the engagement than she would have expected or liked, a fact that set in motion her eventual decision to break up with Duncan Kane.
Much of the month was spent enjoying the snow - and the warmth indoors - as well as the hot cocoa in the kitchen one day. She met] George Lass, which resulted in getting hit in the face with a squirrel. On the 18th, Pam told Veronica she was pregnant.
The best present the island could give Veronica, however, was the arrival of her father in time for Christmas. Keith's being there was the last thing Veronica needed to finally think of the island as her home. Although she continued to miss some aspects of the world she'd grown up in, including her dog Backup, she finally had everything she needed to be content with life on Tabula Rasa. Christmas was spent with her father and the Halperts. Jim gave her a wooden horse he'd carved.
The day after Christmas, Veronica kissed Sam beneath the mistletoe. Although she initiated it, she chose to blame the kiss entirely on tradition in later weeks. After, Sam told her about the deaths of his mother and his last girlfriend Jessica; Veronica told him, in return, about Lilly's murder, but left out a number of important details (for example, how she had thought she was Duncan's sister and how she'd spent a year and a half not knowing how she'd lost her virginity).
On the 30th, Veronica broke up with Duncan. It was the end of a relationship that had been on again, off again for the better part of four years, despite murders, fauxcest and islands. The thing was, the intervening four years had changed them both. Although Duncan remained her first love, the Duncan she loved no longer quite existed, and the Veronica Mars he loved was long gone.
Later that day, she was present for the canon-puncturing of Mimi Marquez, offering to be friends with her. The following day, New Year's Eve, was marked by an island-wide party. Veronica took the opportunity to eat ridiculous amounts of ice cream and film blackmail footage of various karaoke performances. She ended the year with a kiss from Sam at midnight.
