Twenty third scent ~ Madness
The alley was ugly and dirty but this didn’t stop the little boy from trashing it even more, trying to take a little revenge on what the world had made him. He kicked the trash bin and squealed loudly when his foot connected with the hard form and made him weep because of the pain. He threw it a dirty look and looked mad at it as if the trash bin was the one responsible for his misery.
It took him five minutes to realize that no one was going to retaliate for what he had done - or tried to at least - and five more to finally move his feet, dragging them to the corner of the street. He sneaked a glance at the people passing by and then hid himself again as some of them began to notice him. He didn’t want to see them, he didn’t want to be in their world. They made him hurt and cry and the little boy didn’t like that, he hated the pain. He just had to run away and hide from the rest of the world until he would be old enough to emerge from his hideout and take care of himself.
“Are you okay?”
He flinched from the voice and ran to a bigger trash bin, thinking that this would make him invisible and the bad man would disappear from his sight when he’ll see that there’s no little boy to hurt here. Instead, the man smiled and took a step closer.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” He said with what he wanted to be a gentle voice.
“You all say that!” the child replied, revealing himself for a second and then hiding again. “All adults lie and they never keep their word!” he added with a frustrated voice, raising the little hand to his swollen cheek and gulping when he thought again of all the red marks from his body.
“And you are going to hide yourself for the rest of your life?” the man laughed, angering the little boy and making him come out for another couple of seconds.
“I am and when I’ll be old enough, I’ll show them that I can be the same with them!!” he replied, his eyes glimmering with unshed tears and being hurt by the man’s mocking. He wasn’t just dreaming, he already had a plan. He was going to live with the dog he had found a few weeks ago and for which had built a shelter because he knew he won’t be thrown away from there. And after that, he’ll grow big in a couple of days and will come back to his parents to remind them that they shouldn’t treat a kid like that and make them apologize and really mean it this time.
“You’re just weak.” The other said with a scoff and rolled his eyes at the boy’s naivety. “You’re pathetic if you think you will manage to accomplish something by doing this.” He continued and pointed his surroundings with a flap of his hand.
“I’m not weak, I’m strong!!” the six-years-old jumped out from his hideout, yelling the words with all the strength he had. The man seemed to be impressed by this and his small eyes studied the boy’s figure for a moment. He looked like he had been beaten a lot and his clothes were dirty, his figure slim and malnourished. He was covered by dirt and in a few spots he could see the dried blood from where his wounds had been. He really looked pathetic, but his eyes were totally different. They were glowing with confidence and the older could see in them the wish to be the king of the world, to have the power to do anything he wanted to and force the others to submit to his will. They were intriguing and powerful and the man couldn’t help but feel mesmerized by them.
He knew he hadn’t made a mistake when he had chosen to enter this alley and talk with the boy.
“Then prove it.” He said and the boy flinched from the sudden change of the man’s tone. “Prove that you’re not weak and that all the others are wrong. Prove that you can be something else than a used piece of cloth.” He dared the child and his voice sounded expectant and almost hoping.
The boy looked taken aback by this sudden proposition and for a moment, he seemed like he wanted to run again and hide from the older. But he didn’t and he stayed in the same place, studying the man and trying to reach a decision. It didn’t take long as he stepped forward and looked at the man with a determined expression. He knew what he had to do and Jin was sure he wasn’t making a mistake when he said his final words to this conversation.
“What do I have to do?”
∙
“Jin, I want you to meet my son, Tomohisa.” The man smiled and pushed forward a boy who didn’t seem to be much older than Jin was. Even so, it was clear how different he was. He was clean and wealthy and had a big smile plastered on his face, one that gave Jin chills and made him back away in disgust. Those kinds of people were the most dangerous, he had found it the hard way, because they were always laughing and telling jokes and then stabbing you in the back.
“Nice to meet you, Jin!” Tomohisa said with a cheerful voice and grabbed Jin’s hand into a forceful shake. “I’m Aoki Tomohisa and I’m five years old!” he added and Jin’s whole body trembled.
“Hi.” He finally decided to answer, even if his voice was colder and not friendly enough. But Tomohisa’s smile didn’t disappear from his lips even as his dad left them alone.
“Nee, want to see something?” the younger said with a half-whiny tone, like he was expecting Jin to refuse and was already trying to persuade him. But Jin had no intention to do that because he knew his time there was limited and he would have to go home eventually, to go back to his own parents and the hell that was waiting for him there. He had already decided to take full advantage of the opportunity Aoki-san had given to him and learn as much as possible to finally be able to defeat his parents one day. He won’t be the one to regret his whole life, Jin thought and nodded his head in acceptance.
Tomohisa smiled and grabbed Jin’s arm, leading him to the house and his room, laughing and smiling and telling jokes and soon enough, Jin forgot why he had been so afraid of him at first.
∙
His first love was when he was eight. He still didn’t know how it happened but it did and Jin felt mesmerized by the feeling of his fast beating heart whenever she was close. It always brought a smile on his face and Jin’s visits to the Aoki family had become more entertaining since his feelings had changed for the daughter of the house.
“She’s my baby sister!” Tomohisa had opposed this when he first found out even if Jin already knew that he wasn’t that mad because this was the expression his friend made when he was feeling ignored or left out.
“But, Tomo, it’s better if it’s me than some other guy, right?” Jin explained with a laugh, seeing the six-years-girl eavesdropping at their conversation and giggling by herself in the corner. Her laugh always managed to give Jin goose bumps.
“I guess…” the other sighed in defeat and raised his head to look firmly at Jin. “But if you hurt her, you’ll have to pay!” he added, feeling proud of himself and ignoring the fact that Jin had become stronger than him in just two years.
Jin just smiled.
∙
It didn’t last long and his love for her died in the cruelest way. He was already nine when he came by and heard screams from inside the house. He closed his eyes before entering the unknown territory and braced himself for what he was going to see. He had noticed the signs on Tomohisa and Rina’s bodies since he first came in that house to train under Aoki but he had chosen to ignore them, thinking that it wasn’t that different from the treatment he was himself receiving at home. Tomo was already a big boy and he could defend himself, exactly like Jin had begun to do with his own parents. Besides, it was easier for him because his mother seemed to be away all the time so he had to take the wrath of only one parent, not two like Jin. Somehow, it seemed difficult to trust Tomohisa’s words and believe that his mother was gentle and she would help them if she saw them being beaten by their father.
It couldn’t be. Jin didn’t know any other way to live than this.
He gulped when he opened the door of the kitchen and saw the image that was unfolding in front of him. Rina’s screams were unbearable and Jin had to support his body on the door’s frame to be able stand on his feet. Tomohisa was above her and trying to shield her tiny body from their father’s merciless hits but failing badly. They were only both getting hurt and the hell didn’t seem to end any time soon. Jin tried to move but found himself incapable as the man’s furious eyes rested upon him and he threw the fainted body of a bloody Tomohisa into his arms.
Jin fell to the ground with the weight of his friend on him and clutched his arms on the filthy clothes, trying to keep his anger controlled and not snap at the man. It wasn’t going to bring them any good, they would just all get killed. He had to keep his calm and not let even one tear appear to not make Aoki even angrier than he already was.
“Jin, are you afraid?”
The cold voice made his blood freeze but Jin still found the courage to look up and stare into those cruel eyes without flinching and without giving any sign of weakness. “No.” he answered with a determined voice, ignoring the whimpers of his friend who was starting to wake up, the pain being too unbearable for him to take.
“Good. Then you’ll receive a reward if you clean this up.” Aoki said and exited the kitchen, closing the door behind him.
Jin didn’t dare to breathe or to move for a long time. He forgot the time as he stood there and hugged his friend tighter at his chest, tears spilling from his eyes as Tomohisa was starting to regain his consciousness. His eyes couldn’t look anywhere else then the dead body of his first love.
∙
“Jin, please help me!” Tomohisa pleaded but Jin didn’t budge, not when he knew that they were being watched. “I can’t stand this, I hate that man, I hate this house!” he yelled and his hands grabbed Jin’s collar, shaking him but not receiving any reaction.
“Tomo, calm down.” He said with a low voice, trying his best to not let others hear them.
“How can I calm down when I know that that man killed my sister?!” his friend snapped and his hands clutched even tighter Jin’s shirt. “I want him dead, Jin, I can’t bare living this nightmare anymore…” he added through his tears as he let his head fall down on the older one’s shoulder.
“I’ll help you.” Jin whispered and Tomohisa’s body stiffened but he didn’t dare to move. “I’ll help you kill him at the right time so please trust me and never say a word about this.”
∙
“Sir, can I talk to you?”
“Oh, yes, Jin, what can I help you with?” Aoki smiled as he saw the ten-years-old entering his office with a grave expression.
“I need to tell you something.” The boy continued and bit his lips in nervousness, not daring to look into the man’s eyes. He didn’t receive an answer but he could feel the man’s eyes on him so Jin took the liberty to continue. “Tomohisa has turned against you. He asked me to help him kill you.”
Silence fell over the room as Jin’s eyes found Aoki’s and faced him into a direct challenge. The man didn’t seem disturbed by his courage or the news of his own son wanting to kill him, but seemed rather delighted by the turn of events. He put his elbows on the table and joined his fingers in front of his chin, his eyes never leaving the younger’s. “You’re a good boy, Jin, better than my own stupid son.” He said and his voice seemed overjoyed by this fact. “Instead of Tomohisa, I’d rather make you my heir, what do you say?” Aoki proposed and Jin smiled.
This was what he had been waiting for.
∙
“How are you enjoying life?” Aoki asked Jin as he saw the now twelve-years-old preparing his gun and pointing to a distant target. His smiled only widened when Jin hit the middle of it and his heart puffed up with pride. This was the boy he had raised, this was the boy who was going to make him known in the entire world. Jin was his only successor now as he had announced to his loyal subjects only a few days ago, after he had gotten rid of Tomohisa and had actually given Jin the pleasure to kill him.
“It’s good.” Jin replied with a shrug and shot again.
“Good, good.” The man said and it was obvious from his stance and tone that he was still considering Jin a weakling even if he had come a long away. It wasn’t enough for him, Jin was still not good enough to be considered his rival. He smirked as the thought that Jin might one day turn against him sneaked in his mind again. He knew that and he was waiting for the time anxiously.
His only mistake was that he hadn’t foreseen that it would be so soon.
“You handle the guns perfectly!” Aoki cheered and Jin shrugged again.
“I still prefer knives.” The boy answered and turned to look at the one who had taken care of him better than his own father. “But guns are useful sometimes too because they’re quicker and they also don’t make a sound.” He grinned widely and pressed the trigger. “I really hate you, you know?” he said with a sweet smile and tilted his head a little, watching the man in front of him falling at his feet.
He really despised men like Aoki.
*
Kazuya listened to Pi’s story and he couldn’t believe his ears. How could a twelve years old boy have planned all this? With what heart he had been living with, having to commit murder to such a young age? Kazuya couldn’t believe that the person Pi had been talking about was Jin. He saw the reason, he saw beyond the murder, but he couldn’t completely understand it. To really kill someone, something must have killed you too. And Jin - like him too - had been killed from young age. But there was a difference between them, Kazuya at one point had been saved, Jin… he hadn’t.
The younger hid his face in his palms, trying to understand and trying not to judge what he had just heard. It was hard to accept such a reality, but he couldn’t avoid it. Whatever Jin had done when he had been young was already in the past and even if it hurt Kazuya inside to know such things, he had to see it through the end. Because he was going to save Jin - he had to.
“Why?” Kazuya suddenly asked, looking at Pi. “Why didn’t you stop him from becoming a murderer at such an age?!” he continued and there was anger in his voice. After all, he couldn’t completely understand this situation and he had to blame someone that wasn’t Jin. And most certainly, there were people to blame for Jin’s crimes.
“To stop him?” Pi laughed. “I wanted Jin to kill him, to stop that man from killing other innocent people.” He said with a simple shrug. “And don’t fool yourself, but after he had to deal with my father, this was the only way for him. Jin would have been the same today even if I had stopped him that day to kill that bastard.”
“You will never know how Jin would have finally turned out.” Kazuya growled, his eyes sparkling with more anger. “And you should have killed your father yourself if you wanted him dead. You shouldn’t have been a coward and let Jin deal with your problems!” He accused and stood up, unable to keep himself controlled. “He was twelve-years old!!” Kazuya shouted as he looked accusingly at Pi. His chest was rising fast from the fury that had taken over him and from the pain that he was feeling for the boy that he had never known. He had always wondered why adults were so blind in their way… but hearing Pi, he realized that children must be the same. After all, everyone was human.
“He trusted Jin.” Pi replied with a small voice, as if he didn’t want to admit that truth. “I tried to kill him too but he never trusted me so I failed every time. It seemed that I was entertaining him actually.” He laughed and then spit on the floor, disgusted at the image of the one who made him covered in Rina’s blood. “And I was younger than Jin if you want to know.” He added as an after-thought, looking straight into Kazuya’s eyes.
Kazuya bit his lip, fighting all of his emotions to not resurface once more. He passed a shaking hand through his hair and let out a heavy sigh. “You could have done this differently.” He said with a low voice as he leaned against the desk. “How can you live with this?” He then asked and looked back at Pi, his brown eyes no more accusing but pitiful. Just like Jin, Pi was a victim too - Kazuya could understand this as much.
“This isn’t your business anymore.” Pi replied simply as he stood up, his back turned to Kazuya. “I said I’ll answer your questions about Jin, not myself.” He proceeded to remind the younger, his voice a little harsh and suppressing the need to tell Kazuya that he wasn’t that different from Jin.
After all, they had been raised by the same person.
“But -” Kazuya said and made a small pause, in search of his words. “- don’t you wish to have known a different path? Didn’t you talk with Jin about this? Are both of you satisfied with how things have gotten? Can you really say you’re happy this way?!” The younger continued and went to Pi, turning him around to face him.
“I already said that it’s none of your business!!” the older barked, obviously annoyed by Kazuya’s courage and gut. “Don’t make me forget that I promised Jin to take care of you and say that I was gone for a while only to find the office empty when I came back!!” he then threatened, the words rolling off his lips with hate and anger and… helplessness.
Kazuya took a step back, but only because of surprise, not because of fear. “Can you really do that to the man who murdered your father at your pleas?” he asked with a low voice, though there was no accusation or anything in it. “And it is my business. Because your friendship with Jin had led him to do such things. So I’m trying to understand you too in the same time.” Kazuya replied, a bit more defiantly than normal. It was clear from Pi’s attitude that he was kind of regretting this present self and that he had thought of a different path too. But just like in his father’s case, he had felt coward and helpless. Kazuya could understand these feelings very well and the funny thing was that they both were now gravitating around Jin who wasn’t regretting anything up till now and was blind to any different path. Jin was still trapped in the web of his parents’ wrong doings and all of the adults in his life. Could he really save Jin?
“Don’t waste your time.” Was the only thing Pi said before once again turning his back on Kazuya and searching through the room for some cigars. He found them and hurried to light one, taking a long drag from it and breathing relaxed as he felt that warm sensation in his mouth and soul. “Don’t leave this office if you don’t want to get attacked.” Pi added and then headed to the door to leave.
“Wait!” Kazuya grabbed Pi on the shirt to stop him. “I’m going with you.” He added and there was a sudden plea in his voice. “I can’t stay here alone!” The younger said and he thought if he was going to be left there, then he’ll go out of his mind. It had been enough the days he had stayed in his apartment, but if he were to stay in a small office… then he’d be dead of boredom by the time Jin or Pi came back. Besides, he still wanted to know about Jin.
“I’m not going to take you anywhere with me.” Pi spitted the words with disgust as he freed himself from Kazuya’s hold. “Don’t make me lock you here.” He then threatened with the same cold voice he had used since the younger had become too forceful.
“I’m not staying here!” Kazuya raised his voice with a stubborn edge to it and rushed to the door, not letting Pi get out of there too. “Jin told you to stay with me, not to leave me alone.” He said as a reminder. Really, what was all this again?! He didn’t ask Jin to bring him to where he spent his time just to argue with Yamapi!
Pi groaned. “You’re really crazy.” he said, referring to the fact that Kazuya was getting himself involved into this, he didn’t want to give up and even wanted to know better a criminal like Jin. “Look,” he continued with what seemed to be a calmer voice as he remembered that Jin would probably kill him if he got even angrier and dared to hit Kazuya, “I told you this isn’t the world for you. So go back to your own because Jin isn’t the one for you.”
Kazuya laughed. “Then you’re the crazy one for still believing that I’ll back away just because this world doesn’t suit me.” He replied with a tint of amusement in his voice. “Besides, even if I really wanted to go back to my own, as you said it, Jin wouldn’t let me.” He said with a shrug, like it wasn’t that much of a problem if Jin was holding him back. “I said it before, I’ll come into this world of yours no matter what.” Kazuya added with the same defiant tone as before. Call him crazy or whatsoever, but love wasn’t a normal thing either.
Pi sighed. “Do whatever you want, it’s not like I care. But don’t complain when you’ll remember my words and realize that I was right.” He said as he went back in the room and threw his unfinished cigar into an ashtray.
Kazuya couldn’t suppress a smile of triumph as he watched Pi give into his persuasion. He hopped back into the room too, feeling much better than before. But then all he had learned about Jin’s past came back to him and his freshly bud happiness faltered soon. He pursed his lips and cursed the silence that was kind of pressuring now that they had come to an agreement, well, mostly Pi gave up because Kazuya was like a crazy person. He sighed and looked at Pi thoughtful.
“Why did you say someone will attack me if I go outside this room?” Kazuya suddenly asked, feeling that this subject was safe as the one named Jin had kind of become taboo. Also, he despised silence too much.
“Because the others like to bully the newcomers. And with your big mouth, they would easily get mad and beat you to death.” Pi explained with a shrug, taking another cigar from Jin’s packet. “After that they’ll remember that they weren’t supposed to touch you because Jin had forbidden them.” he added as an after-thought, sitting back on the couch.
Kazuya pursed his lips. “So… they won’t use reason, but fists to try and close my big mouth?” He asked half mockingly half serious. If fists would have solved things every time, then there would be less people living on this planet, Kazuya thought to himself with a grimace on his face.
“Yes.” Pi said without adding anything else.
Kazuya sighed and licked his lips nervously. “But if you were with me?” he asked, knowing the answer already, but still wanting to ask.
“I wouldn’t bother to interfere.” Pi said honestly, grinning widely at the boy.
Kazuya scoffed. “Why? Do you hate me?” The younger said with a serene voice as if it was natural if Pi would have hated him.
“I don’t care enough to hate you, kiddo.” Pi replied with a playful voice. “And you’re wrong if you think you’ll receive the same treatment from others as you do with Jin.” He added and lifted his feet, settling more comfortably on the couch.
“Do you doubt my talents?” Kazuya laughed and leaned against the desk. “But I’m glad to know that you -” Kazuya paused and seemed to think. “- what was it? Ah, right. That you don’t care enough to hate me.” He continued with a smile. “Then… do you care enough to fancy me?” He asked with a laugh.
“Why? Do you have a proposal for me?” Pi hurried to ask, the smirk on his face more than obvious for his perverted thoughts.
Kazuya narrowed his eyes and a mischievous gleam was in them. “Do you want me to have one?” He replied with another question. He was kind of playing with fire, but for now he was bored and there seemed to be something that didn’t allow him to shut his mouth.
“If it includes me and you and any kind of sex, I’d be more than delighted to hear it.” Pi answered without flinching, cocking a curious eyebrow as he waited for the younger’s reply. Now this should be interesting because Yamapi wasn’t the kind of person to back down. And Kazuya… well, he’d have to see.
Kazuya licked his lips as he obviously checked out Pi’s body, feeling a little playful and like he wanted to have the fun he had been denied of the time he had spent locked in his apartment. “You’re not bad.” He remarked and detached himself from the desk, slowly approaching the other. “You’re quite tempting.” He added and leaned a bit, slipping his hand in Pi’s hair and grasping tightly around his light brown locks. Kazuya looked into the other one’s eyes, a smirk adorning his moist lips which were now so close to Pi’s, slowly breathing over them. “But I love Jin.” He then said and pulled away from the other, wanting to head back to the desk but the older was faster and caught his arm, pulling on it and forcing Kazuya to fall on the floor, Pi immediately jumping from the couch and topping him.
“You should know better than to play with fire until now.” He whispered with an alluring tone, a smirk dancing on his lips.
Kazuya glared at Pi, obviously bothered by the turn of events, though he couldn’t deny that his heart skipped a beat at Pi’s attitude. “And here I thought you weren’t interested in boys.” The younger mocked and tried to wriggle his way out from Pi’s body, but it was a bit difficult. “And you aren’t a fire worth of me.” He then added with poison coated voice.
“Honey, I tried to hit on you since the first time I saw you.” Pi laughed, trapping Kazuya’s arms above his head to be sure that the boy wasn’t going anywhere. “I wanted to fuck you the minute I laid my eyes on you.” He then whispered, moving his hips a little along Kazuya’s body as he raised himself to get to the younger’s ear.
Kazuya’s eyes widened at such words and he tried to flatten his body as much as possible, to keep Pi from touching it anymore. “What?” he asked with a surprised voice. “Better let go of me.” He then added, feeling that maybe he wasn’t that much in control of things and he couldn’t keep Pi away from him if the man didn’t want so.
“What’s the problem now?” the older laughed as he sipped his teeth into the younger’s ear lob, pulling on it painfully slow. “You seemed much more courageous earlier when you were flirting so openly.” He smirked and tightened a little his hold on Kazuya, showing no intention of backing out.
Kazuya cursed in his mind as he hissed at Pi’s actions and words. “Yeah, that was when I thought you weren’t into guys.” He replied with anger in voice, now seriously moving under Pi, trying to get away. “And besides, you wouldn’t dare to touch something that’s Jin’s.” He remarked and hoped that it was good - for his own good.
“Well, I’m touching you now.” Pi pointed out as he freed one hand and let it slowly brush on Kazuya’s face, caressing his forehead, cheek and then lips with his index finger. “I tried to hump you in Jin’s apartment.” He reminded the younger. “What do you think I would do now that we’re alone?” he asked with a low and arousing voice, his breath entwining with Kazuya’s as Yamapi brought their lips close.
But Kazuya turned his face away, now looking at a wall. This was getting dangerous and he didn’t want another incident like Hiroki’s, though he wasn’t sure if Jin would really kill Pi, especially since half of this was his fault too. He tried to calm himself down and to gather his words to make Pi stop this crazy situation. It was clear that he couldn’t stand being straddled and pinned to the floor.
“You’ll do nothing.” Kazuya finally said, his face still turned away from Pi. “Because if you do anything more than this, you surely know that it will not end well.” He continued, talking fast and a bit insecure. “I don’t know what will happen to us if Jin ever finds out about you hitting on me. I may get away with a rough fuck and being locked away, though I’m not sure about you…”
Pi laughed again. “Sweetheart, who says that Jin needs to find out anything?” he said with a taunting voice, kissing softly Kazuya’s cheek and fully enjoying the situation and having the younger under him. Oh, he could understand why Jin was so obsessed with this boy because Yamapi also was feeling his blood on fire because of this close proximity.
Kazuya gritted his teeth. “He’ll find out.” He said and turned to look at Pi with fierce eyes. “I will tell him.” He then added, determination in his voice. Playtime was over, Kazuya thought, it needed to be over because his body liked to have a mind of his own and the kiss on his cheek had sent shivers down his spine. He wasn’t risking anything else, he needed by all cost to make Pi back away.
“You won’t tell him anything.” Pi said with a smirk and a confident voice as he once again leaned over Kazuya’s lips, looking like he wanted to kiss him and then backing away at the last second. “You know what Jin would do if he finds out and you don’t want to be responsible for my death or yours, don’t you?” he continued, his hand back on Kazuya’s cheek and going lower this time, roaming a little on the boy’s chest and wandering more on his nipples.
Kazuya bit his lip and moved frantically to get away from Pi’s touch. “And what makes you so sure?” He said with his breath hitched. “Jin killed my mother and I don’t even care. So if you die, why should it bother me? Another one off my back.” Kazuya added with a smirk and looked defiantly at Pi.
“This doesn’t mean you don’t feel guilty.” Pi said with the same confidence dancing on his words. “Your mother was one. That Uchi guy - two. Me - three. How many people are you going to let him kill because of you?” he continued with a mocking tone, laughing into his ear. “You have the nerve to accuse me because Jin killed one person because of me. There are two already, Kazuya…” he lingered on the boy’s name, enjoying the tremble of his body.
Such truth hit Kazuya deep as his eyes hardened. “At least, I tried to stop him, unlike you.” He said, though his voice was a bit broken, the confidence from before gone. “Now I can’t stop him. So better get the fuck away from me!!” Kazuya shouted the last words, now struggling even more to get free from Yamapi.
“Wow, angry cat.” Pi joked as he released Kazuya and moved next to him, now not touching him at all but still laughing as he looked at the boy who seemed to have lost his cunning words from earlier.
Kazuya hissed and got up, as far away from Pi. “You bastard.” He swore, narrowing his eyes dangerously.
“Some have said that.” Pi answered with a thoughtful expression. “But I never tried to pretend to be someone I’m not, you are the one.” He said, his voice sounding a little angry. “And you’re the one who can’t accept Jin as who he is and wants to change him.” He continued, now clearly accusing Kazuya for what he was doing.
Kazuya smirked. “I accept who he is.” He replied with a drawl. “I want to change his future, not his present. I’ll stand by him each and every time, but I won’t accept to see him destroying himself.” The younger continued, his eyes flashing with determination. “And if I’m pretending to be someone else, then you are the same. You don’t even admit that you aren’t happy with the way things are right now. You don’t even want to admit that you wish another life, one that isn’t dirty and pressuring like this one.” Kazuya accused back, his tongue rolling out the words like a whip.
Pi started to laugh even harder, looking like a madman. He couldn’t believe he was hearing those words. “And you realized all that with your psychologist skills?” he asked with a sweet and baby-like tone, pursing his lips a little to have the effect of mocking more powerful.
“I didn’t even need psychologist skills. You yourself admitted when I questioned about this.” Kazuya replied calmly and wondered if everyone around Jin was the same as Pi. Lost, grieving and convinced that there hadn’t been another way. Kazuya had been the same too.
“Think what you want.” The older finally answered after a short moment of silence, deciding that it wasn’t worth it and that he wasn’t interested to change Kazuya’s opinion about him. “But if you think that Jin will change just by you being here, you’re wrong. But let me tell you something.” He hurried to add, sounding awfully cheerful as he sat up and went to the bar to pour himself a drink. “Do you know what Jin is actually doing now?” he asked and the evilness was clear in his voice.
Kazuya gulped and looked warily back at Pi. “Definitely not making a move on a girl or guy you like.” He replied mockingly, not wanting to be affected by Pi’s words.
“No, he’s doing something more interesting.” Pi shrugged and took a big gulp of his whisky, but didn’t show any intention of telling Kazuya anything else or even wanting to.
“If it’s that interesting, he’ll tell me.” Kazuya replied confidently and went to the desk, taking Jin’s seat and suddenly opening drawers and looking through them.
“Sure, he’ll tell you.” Pi said with a voice that clearly spoke instead of him that he didn’t actually believe this shit was going to happen any time soon. “Please do ask him when he comes back.” He added with a too much satisfied tone as he went back to his seat on the couch, not seeming bothered at all by what the other one was doing at Jin’s desk.
Kazuya glared at Pi before a sweet smile adorned his lips. “I prefer to ask him when we’re alone. He’ll be keener to tell me as…” The younger made a moan-like sound, looking all devilish. “…as I persuade him a little.” He completed and licked his lips not at all subtly.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea.” The other one replied, wriggling his nose in disapproval. “Jin loses his mind in bed and can’t really think at anything but his release, so he’ll probably not tell you anything coherent then.” He said like he was an expert on this matter and like he knew every kink of Jin’s.
Kazuya stopped from his rummaging and looked at Pi with a quirked eyebrow. “Did you fuck with Jin too?” he asked as a matter-of-factly. If it was true, then he would have to talk with Jin about his relationship with Pi too. Apparently, they were more than best friends.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Pi replied with a smirk on his lips, enjoying the change of pace between them.
“Well, whatever.” Kazuya shrugged and resumed his search until he came across a drawer that apparently didn’t open. He pulled on it stubbornly, shaking the desk with it in the same time. So there was something that Jin had locked away in his office, Kazuya mused and then looked again at Pi. “But I have to tell you - there’s a difference between you and me.” He said with a pleased grin on his face. “Just like if you were to fuck me, you wouldn’t be able to make me feel more than Jin does. I can easily bring you to your release, but you’ll have to work hard to bring me to mine.” He continued and stuck out his tongue cheekily. As he talked, Kazuya was thinking of a way to open that drawer.
“Who said anything about your release?” Pi asked with a really confused expression. He kept glancing at the drawer that Kazuya was pulling on, silently wondering too why it wasn’t opening. He had no idea of such a drawer - not that he often rumbled through them or anything - but he thought he had access to all of Jin’s stuff concerning work. Then… that wasn’t about work? Then what? “As long as I’m satisfied, I don’t need anything else,” he said as he lifted his legs and dropped them on the table in front of him, “though with Jin was always an exception.” He added with a small voice, thinking that the older was more than cranky if he wouldn’t get his release too.
“Then you don’t even know how to make one have his release.” Kazuya laughed mockingly. “You’re just a nutcase that only knows to play with his dick and that’s all. I pity you.” He added, frustrated that the drawer wasn’t opening and Pi’s presence and words were adding to his frustrations.
“Don’t know, ask Jin about my skills.” Pi shrugged like he wasn’t interested in that matter. “He should know better.” He then added, a playful hint in his voice as his eyes found Kazuya’s again.
The younger narrowed his eyes, displeased by the fact that Pi had touched Jin in ways he had done it too. “If it comes to skills, yours are nothing compared with mine. You can ask Jin about that.” He shrugged and he was now looking for something sharp on the desk.
“Are you jealous?” Pi chuckled, fully aware of the effect his words had on Kazuya. “You are if you are starting to compare yourself with me and soon you’ll say things like Jin is still with you because you’re the better one in bed.” He chuckled again, obviously mocking the younger. “Oh, and don’t bother.” He quickly added as an after-thought. “That drawer won’t open if Jin doesn’t want it. Or it will open but it will also cut your hand, so stop right now.” He said with a lazy voice, like he wasn’t interested in what could happen with Kazuya.
“Fuck you.” Kazuya replied with a drawl, not bothering to take in account Pi’s advice. He found that something sharp he had been looking for and crouched to open that drawer. He had tried this before and at some locks had worked and at others hadn’t. And if at Jin’s drawer won’t work, he’ll try until he succeeds. But for now, he ignored Pi and his words, totally concentrating on his task.
“Kamenashi, I’m serious.” Pi rolled his eyes but still didn’t bother to move from his spot. “If that drawer is locked by Jin, then it has a trap that might even kill you for all I know.” He said, trying half-heartedly to convince the boy to give up. “It wouldn’t be the first time this happens.” He then added with a yawn.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Kazuya said from under the desk and continued further with his task. Really, why was that lock so stubborn to open?!
Pi groaned and sat up, wanting to stop that idiot from hurting himself or Jin would have his head on a plate. But that was the only thing he did because exactly in that moment, a loud sound was heard and something exploded right into Kazuya’s face, the force of it sending him back and making him fall on the floor. Pi looked curiously at the boy for a few seconds but then he saw him moving and shrugged, not caring about the consequences. “Well, at least he didn’t make it that powerful.” He said, turning his back on Kazuya and going back to his place. Pi had to be thankful to Jin for that because he was sure that the older had thought Yamapi would be the one to discover the drawer and hadn’t made the bomb that dangerous exactly because of this. It didn’t mean that there weren’t others, Pi mused as he glanced at the still closed drawer.
Kazuya blinked a few times and saw small blotches appear on his hands, apparently the skin got irritated from the sudden explosion and had a reaction to the contents of that bomb. He looked at the fucking closed drawer and cursed through gritted teeth. “I need a medical skit. Is there one here?” He asked Pi who was sniggering at Kazuya’s failure.
“Don’t know, maybe there’s one in that drawer that you want to open so badly.” The older replied with a laugh but still stood up - ignoring the fact that he just sat down like two seconds ago - and went to a closet to retrieve what the younger needed. “Need any help?” Pi added with a more than cheerful voice as he looked at Kazuya from above.
“Yeah, kiss it and it will heal.” Kazuya retorted mockingly as he took the medical skit. He felt an immense urge to hit Pi, just to see him cringe in pain.
“Okay.” Pi replied easily and before Kazuya had any chance to react, he leaned over and kissed those lips that he had been trying to taste since he had first seen them. Of course, in the next second he backed away quickly, not wanting to face Kazuya’s anger. Or Jin’s.
Kazuya looked at Pi with a confused and what-the-fuck expression on his face. Then it turned into a mischievous one as his freshly kissed lips curled up in a sarcastic smile. “You’ve been dying to do this, weren’t you?” Kazuya asked with a mean chuckle.
“Yeah, since I first saw you.” Pi replied without blinking and not feeling ashamed at all because of this. After all, if he was attracted to Kazuya, what good would it be to deny it? “I’d actually do a lot more if you let me.” He added with a bright smile on his face, even if he already knew the answer.
Kazuya laughed as he took out some lotion and spread it on his bright red skin. “Then do it.” He said with a casual tone, humming along as he put some more lotion on his fingers. “That… if you have the courage to deal with the consequences later.” The younger looked up at Pi with an angel-like smile. It was just an innocent teasing and Kazuya knew that it wouldn’t lead to anywhere, but it still felt a little bit exciting to be having this kind of conversation with Yamapi. Strangely enough, the man reminded him of Jin and of the way he used to be when they had first met - the light teasing, the immense confidence and the determination to make Kazuya his. It made him tingle and think of all the good times with Jin, forgetting about the bad times and leaving him in the past.
“And you have?” the older asked with a curious voice as he took one step forward, already getting ready to accept Kazuya’s invitation. “To cheat on Jin and then not say anything?” he added, feeling that he might be pulled into a trap and feeling a little too excited to care about it.
“Nope.” Kazuya replied cheerfully, seeing Pi sway in front of him. “Jin always found out if I were with someone.” He then shrugged, thinking of the unlucky times when he had been misunderstood. He finished taking care of his hands and stood up, somewhat this making the distance between him and Pi shortening.
“He finds out because there’s always someone watching you.” Pi said and raised his hand, catching Kazuya and pulling on it to bring the boy into his arms. “But now I’m the one who’s supposed to tell him and I won’t say a thing if you don’t.” he smirked and tightened his hold to have their bodies glued to each other, their lips almost touching and their breaths becoming one.
And Kazuya’s heart beat a bit faster as he looked at Pi and saw desire in his eyes. It was a different sensation than when Hiroki had tried to approach him. He felt that Pi won’t be that clingy and won’t ask more than he had to give. And he kind of liked how those strong arms held him without hesitation and how those lips seemed so close that he could almost taste them. But there was something tugging at his heart, something that didn’t let him wholeheartedly do such a thing.
“I can’t.” He breathed the words and grabbed Pi’s hands to make him let go. “As much as I enjoy this cat-mice play, I don’t want to regret what I’m doing.” Kazuya added and smiled gently. It was quite tempting to let himself fall into the charms of the other one and to let himself believe that he was back in time and that he was again with that Jin that had made him fall in love, before all these hurtful things had happened. But as he said - he couldn’t, not when he still loved Jin.
“Too bad.” Pi replied with a smile but still didn’t let go of Kazuya. “Oh, well.” He then added and smirked, in the next second leaning even more and catching Kazuya’s lips again but this time with no intention of backing down and nibbling on those lips like his life depended on it.
And it did. Too much.
A spark - that’s all it was needed to light a fire. And that’s how Pi’s kiss was in that moment for Kazuya, the spark that ignited fire in his body and have its own mind. And although there were bells ringing inside his head, Kazuya couldn’t shake off the feeling of those soft lips on his and the sensation of how wrong this was. And his light grasp of Pi’s hands turned into a total grip, the only sign he was trying not to yield to his own passion.
But he gave into temptation and he had to taste the forbidden fruit, that’s why his tongue darted out slithery like and teasingly wetted Pi’s lips. All this time he was starring into his temptation’s eyes.
Pi smirked into the kiss, letting his hands roam on the younger’s body to bring him even closer if that was possible, tilting his head to deepen the kiss and letting his tongue explore even more of that hot cavern that was making his body tremble. His hands settled on Kazuya’s ass and pinched him hard, grinding his hips into the boy’s and searching for more friction. “You drive me crazy.” Pi confessed in that second when their lips parted to breathe for air and then attacked them again, needier and more desperate.
Kazuya answered with the same need and passion though Pi’s words were ringing in his head, making him remember Jin’s voice each time he had said such words. They were alike too much and it tugged even harder at his heart as he clutched onto Pi, letting the other touch him like Jin had done it. It was wrong and in the same time, he wanted such a thing to happen. He wanted to forget about Jin and whatever he meant for him, even if this meant to drown in lust with another man - Jin’s best friend.
So that’s why he slipped his tongue deeper into Pi’s mouth, wanting to taste everything that was so unfamiliar and so wrong. His body shook of pleasure under Pi’s hands and unwillingly it made him yearn for more. But as the kiss deepened, the touches became needier and their desire grew, Kazuya knew that it had to stop otherwise… So he pushed Pi away, detaching from his arms, breathing with difficulty. He looked at the other with a guilty expression, though the lust was still swimming in his liquid brown eyes.
“I hope that this satisfies your curiosity about me.” Kazuya replied with what he wanted to be a joking voice, though it came out more like a shackled one.
“Excuse me, but do you think I’m Jin?” Pi snapped, clutching his hand on Kazuya’s arm and bringing him back into his arms, now both of his hands holding tight on the younger. “Do you think you can play with me like you do with him?” he asked and his anger was full with poison mixed with lust. “That idiot loves you, that’s why he allows you to treat him like shit, while I…”he smirked and buried his nails into Kazuya’s arms, “Ï just want to fuck you.” He admitted and kissed Kazuya again, more forceful and less gentle.
No, he was different from Jin because we wouldn’t yield to Kazuya’s temptation and to his charms. Jin was an idiot for falling in love with him and for forgetting whom he was, ditching his real self and trying to become someone else for the boy’s sake. He had forgotten that he was a cruel criminal and that he was supposed to be ruthless, taking care of his enemies and not making love with someone that didn’t matter. He had changed too much and even if Yamapi could vaguely see why he had done so, he couldn’t accept that the one person he admired the most had become so different from the one he knew.
Kazuya was surprised at this sudden attack and until his mind was on the right track again, Pi was already devouring his lips, taking his breath away and giving him no other way than to accept his kiss. And his hands were hurting, Pi’s hold being much stronger than he had expected and much tighter than he had wanted it to be. But in the end, everyone needed to breath and when their lips parted, Kazuya seized his chance. “Sorry, but you can’t fuck me.” He breathed and pulled himself away, Pi’s nails managing to scratch his skin as the older one refused for a moment to let him go. “And it’s your fault for wanting me in the first place, I never said you can have me.” He added and backed away as fast as he could from Pi. Things weren’t going in the right direction and Kazuya had just created a big mess. Oh well, it wouldn’t be the first time.
“You told me to have you and even dared me to do it if I have the courage to face the consequences.”Pi growled, obviously not happy that Kazuya had slipped through his fingers again. He couldn’t believe it! Did that son of a bitch really think that it was going to be the same as with Jin? That Pi was as understanding as that idiot? Well, he was going to be proven wrong. And soon, Pi thought as he took a step forward, the anger and fury written in his dark eyes. “And guess what,” he continued with a pleasant smirk on his lips, “I’m not that type of a person to back away on his word.” He said and took another step, his intentions clear like crystal.
And the door opened.
