#221 - stolenatalanta - Northern Saw-whet Owl

All of my choices were avian in nature, and I was happy about this, because I have always felt a particular kinship to birds. I have also always wanted to fly without the aid of anything else, just myself flying. After careful examination of all of the choices, I have chosen for my Animagus form the Northern Saw-whet Owl.

Physically the owl is like me. It is petite, it has large eyes. It has great vision, and I have twenty-twenty. Like me, it prefers a nocturnal sleeping pattern. However, even in the daytime it is very difficult to spot, which I was attracted to because of safety reasons. It is rarely seen in the wild. However when it is spotted it is unafraid of people, which reminds me of two things. My social behaviors in which I prefer to be alone, but don't really mind being in groups. Second, I have the ability to stand my ground around others.

In "social" situations it tends to small groupings of others of its kind, but it is mostly solitary and slightly secretive. I'm the kind of person that likes to hang around in a social group of my choosing (I'm kind of choosy, yes), but I really need my solitary time to function the way I desire. Sexually they are monogamous, which suits me. Er, I've only had one partner, and I'm completely, totally satisfied with him.

The Northern Saw-whet owl is native to deciduous forests, which I love. While I'm sure alpine and other types of forests are great, I have grown up around a deciduous, temperate climate is one that I feel very at home in.

Overall I just think there are too many similarities between my animagus and I, and I have begun to feel a real kinship towards the animal after I considered it as my own form.

#222 - silveredaccents - Northern ribbon snake

While not large, nor poisonous, the northern ribbon snake is nonetheless an amazing survivalist. It has adapted to every environment it inhabits, though due to its specialties, it remains close to water. Like the ribbon snake, I'm a survivalist. I choose my encounters carefully, finding no shame in a strategic retreat. However, while in my element, my confidence and abilities are exceptional. Like it, I am resourceful, willing to climb or swim through any situation.

Brightly colored with stripes, the ribbon snake is striking, though easily misidentified. Quite often, I am also misidentified, being considered much younger than my actual age. This also is in part why the ribbon snake and I are alike. It is small and unobtrusive, but at the same time, it can stand out given the right circumstances. I chose the northern ribbon snake as it is black/brown with white or very pale yellow stripes.

I love sunning myself, especially after being in the water, and ribbon snakes frequently bask near their marshes. Yet, when the weather is too cold or too hot, I'm often hiding in my home, burrowing under blankets or at least in the safety of darkness.

While I've been accused of having a nasty bite, like the ribbon snake, I'm far more prone to making things politely unpleasant when I feel I'm being manhandled. The snake does so by scent, I do so in words and actions.

In all, I think the fit is very good. I'm not an openly aggressive individual, but I'm very good at getting my point across. I prefer to work in stealth and through avenues in which I excel, retreating when I feel overwhelmed.

#225 - potionmistressm - Sarplaninac

I chose the Sarplaninac as my animagus (even though I don't know how to do the accent that goes over the S). On a strictly physical level, these dogs and I share a few qualities. We both have dark eyes, and though I would love to be able to say that I'm a more delicate girly girl, I am strongly built, compact, and muscular like these dogs. Sarplaninacs tend to have different shades throughout a monochromatic coat, and recently my own hair has begun taking on new shades as well (totally naturally).

I think the most striking similarities between myself and these dogs are to do with temperament. They are described as being independent, reliable, protective but not snappy, incorruptible, and devoted, and I doubt I could describe myself any better than that if I tried! So many points of the description of this animal match what I wrote in my application so perfectly- being aloof with strangers, especially, but I also feel I share these qualities with the Sarplaninac: being calm unless threatened, being highly intelligent (if I do say so myself), intuition, being stubborn, and being undemonstrative. In fact, I decided on the Sarplaninac because of the way it fit me in ways that couldn't even have been gleaned from my application. I felt that this animal was that perfect!

On a last note, I was known in high school as "Mighty Mary" due to my stubborness and my surprising strength. When I read that the Sarplaninac had been known to take down wolves, lynxes, and bears, and that it had been gifted to Alexander the Great for the purpose of taking down lions, elephants, and bulls, I knew that it was the right animagus for me.

The Sarplaninac is a sweet, hardworking, unassuming dog.

That can kill you. :)

#226 - bubba_rum - Costa Rican Cougar

The animagus form I would like to choose is the Costa Rican Cougar. I chose this animal because, obviously, we have a lot in common. There is not a lot of information on the Costa Rican cougar in any one location, which I find also fits me. This Cougar subspecies usually hunts at night and may sometimes travel long distances in search of food. I am very much a night person, I do my best work at night, on top of which I usually don't work at night so I can feel free to relax. One of my loves is eating, and very much like the CRC, I have been known to walk about a mile or two simply to find a Subway's :) The average litter size tends to be three cubs, ironically enough I only want two or three kids (I used to want more, but after becoming a nanny I realized I couldn’t handle the stress). The CRC is also the second largest cat in Costa Rica, and I find myself to be one of the tallest people in any given room. I also love to travel, play in the water (call me a maniac if you will), and at the risk of tooting my own horn, am very fast and quiet. All things the CRC embodies.

#227 - angelofstrange - Clouded leopard

After some thought I have decided that the clouded leopard would be the proper animagus for me. Giving the fact that not only is it rare but also very unique. I like to think I’m unique but not always but I know I’m the only one that’s me hehe. I like to be different though. I’m not one that fits in with the crowd and being that the clouded leopard is literally the only one of it’s kind seeing as when it was discovered it was given it’s very own genus!

I’m like the clouded leopard in that it likes to drop from trees on to it’s prey like I like to sneak up on my friends and pounce them with hugs. It’s also a very secretive animal, just like I like to keep myself guarded. Stemming from it’s secretive ways it is also not likely to be found in a pack like I’m probably not going to be found surrounding myself with a lot of friends. I like to keep my core people around for safety. They’re also not likely to be found during the day >.>. I’m truly a night person, I don’t like to leave the house before 7 PM, I think this stems from living in a big city most of my life and nothing really good started before then, look at when school starts, it’s WAY too early for me.

I’m a very passive person and in the wild these leopards are also very passive. They also need a time from when they meet their mate until they actually mate. I’m like that not just with my mate but also just friends an acquaintances. I like to think I put them through a little trial before I know I can trust them. But once I’ve thoroughly evaluated them, I get close quickly.

I also need to be emotionally stimulated like the clouded leopards are with their enclosures. I need room to roam and understand the world around me. So in essence, I think a lot of the characteristics of a clouded leopard apply to me, so name me clouded leopard! J

On a side note: It’s funny since I thought this would come up for me since me and the husband have a habit of watching Animal Planet in the mornings and one show they have is called “Growing Up…“. A few days ago when I was watching it was “Growing Up…Clouded Leopard”, so it seemed destined! :P

#229 - classical_wolf - Somali

My choice for Animagus is the Somali (cat):

The temperament of the Somali is seen as "smart and lively, but also alert and curious", which I can relate to. I would say that I am smart in various ways besides academics, and I can be lively, but a large part of my personality is curious and alert. I’m always looking to learn and explore new things. I can be quite alert to new things, sounds, and sensations, though I’m usually alert as a sense of being on guard for personal protection. In terms of the Somali loving freedom and exploration, I have found that I am similar in terms of needing my own space to feel more comfortable, as well as learning about my surroundings. One place I love to explore is New York City because of how many things there are to do and see, as well as the freedom to do as one pleases, and yet they’re sure to fit in somewhere in NYC and find people just like them.

Another element that made me relate to the Somali is the ticking. I consider ticking in this cat to be like highlights of hair in humans. When my hair was longer and when I was younger, I had natural highlights with various shades of brown. I can also relate to their fluffy tail because for the longest time, I had a ‘fro, if you will (I made the mistake once of cutting it to my chin in 5th grade and all the hair went out to the sides - it horrible).

#230 - lunar47 - American Black Bear

I definitely feel a connection to the American Black Bear. This type of bear is large compared to other animals but is actually the smallest of the three species found in America. I’m pretty large in size even though I only stand at 5’4. The bear’s size makes her able to protect herself and is used to intimidate others. I don’t seek to intimidate others but it sometimes comes across that way. Most of the time however they are pretty shy and timid towards humans. I’m not shy per say but I’m not open with strangers that I meet in person. Appearance wise the black bear can range in color from dark brown to honey colored. I have thick dark brown hair, furry eyebrows and I wrote in my application that I hate shaving my legs. Which is still true.

Black bears prefer living in heavily wooded or forested areas as opposed to open spaces. This appeals to me in two aspects. Every year since I was little my family and I went camping in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I’m in love with that area and one day I hope to live somewhere nearby. In a forest and out of the suburbs and city. Also, open spaces would make me feel vulnerable as I’m sure it would make a bear feel the same way. Like the black bear I tend to prefer being on my own most of the time. Bears are really only social in the family setting. While bears are diurnal they do most of their feeding and activity around twilight. I’m more of a night person but I prefer twilight to the early morning hours. When it comes to food I am exactly like a bear. I follow my stomach. Black Bears are omnivores but since they get a lot of carbohydrates in their diet they seek out proteins and fats. Much like I do.

Some of my favorite bear qualities that I share are their intelligence and curiosity. Plus they’re good swimmers. And I better be able to swim after years and years on a swim team.

Overall I think the American Black Bear is a very good match for me.

#231 - heureviolet - Magpie

There is an old English saying associated with magpies: One for sorrow, two for joy. What seems at first like a simple folk rhyme, however, yields eventually to a multiplicity of meanings under closer scrunity - one magpie, for example, is considered an ill omen, but a pair signifies its very opposite: a great blessing. It's this very contradiction that implies the contradictory nature of the bird in general, and that appeals to my own often conflicted identity.

Upon first glance, the magpie seems a harmless creature; small and pretty, with attractive plummage and a distinctively long tail, but appearances are deceiving - the magpie is a far more aggressive creature than its unassuming frame might suggest, known for its confidence, cleverness, and cunning. Other songbirds, for example, ought to remember never to leave their nest unattended when a magpie is around. The magpie sits, waits, then swoops in on the other songbirds' nest to take both eggs and chicks for its own diet. As somebody who has not-so-accidentally stolen more than one latte sitting unclaimed on a Starbucks pick-up counter, I think we can safely assume the magpie and I have (at least) predatorial feeding practices in common. That, and the fact that out of a line-up, I'd probably be the person who looks like she'd least break the law in any way whatsoever, a quirk that I won't pretend I don't often use to my advantage.

While Westerners generally consider the magpie a sign of bad luck, Easterners take the magpie as an auspicious symbol, one that suggests a variety of blessings, such as luck in one's love life, studies, and friendships. Thus, the magpie can seem an enemy to some and ally to others - is the magpie good or evil, one might ask; I would answer that it is neither. The magpie is only ever itself, possessing attributes that may seem fortunate from one angle and entirely disastrous from another; yet where the magpie herself is concerned, these characteristics are one and the same, and whatever attempts to categorize them may only prove misleading. Like the magpie, I represent many different things to many different people - to my best friend I am the sweetest girl in the world, and to my worst enemy, perhaps the most dangerous. To harm me in any way, however, would certainly prove misfortunate to whomever dared to try, just as injuring or killing a magpie is generally regarded as extremely bad luck.

Moreover, the idea of being able to spread one's wings to fly away from the confines of daily life is an extremely attractive one to me, and I am almost convinced I would absolutely abuse the privilege because of my profound need to occasionally escape the concrete jungle. The magpie has a reputation for being a gregarious loner for a bird, and I would not hesitate to say the same thing about myself as a human being.

Lastly, the magpie is commonly associated with witchcraft and wizardry and its great love for shiny objects. The magpie's attraction towards that which captures the eye and spurs the imagination may reflect my own admiration of the beautiful and superficial, yet I have always been able to dig deep within myself and seek out the patterns of the universe as well. Magic, however, includes both the physical and the metaphysical, and it is the culmination of these depths and surfaces that may finally empower any witch or wizard to reach his or her full potential.

#232 - pretty_liquor - Saarlooswolfhond

My choice is Saarlooswolfhond.

First of all this breed was created for a purpose; it was intended to a be a breed that was immune to distemper, and generally sturdier and healthier than a German Sherpard. Anyone who has read my other applications, or stampings at HiH knows that I believe myself to be and enjoy being purposeful. I suppose it's in the Slytherin nature to be quite specific about a path in life, and what is wanted from any given situation short and long term.

I will admit that when I saw this suggestion I wasn't too keen at first. I equated wolves and dogs with an inherently Gryffindor-eqsue nature, but then I took my own advice for a moment. In my view Slytherin and Gryffindor are personalities bound together, reflections of one another, so I gave a closer look to the suggestion.

It seems that Saarlooswolfhonds are not easy animals to keep. In order to have one as a pet, you must be very firmly the Alpha Male, or they'll become the dominant one in a flash. I think this is true of me - if given the opportunity, the slightest window for an influence, I will take advantage of the situation. I am naturally given to 'ordering' people and organising them. I can be very bossy, and I will take full advantage of people if I'm allowed to do so. I will generally chose two catagories of friend - people to keep me in check, and people who I know I can walk all over.

I was very happy to read this sentence in the wikipedia article on Saarlooswolfhonds: Isolation intensifies anti-social behavior, and the dogs panic if locked in an enclosed space. I find this to be exceptionally true of myself. Although I like my own company I do tend to become very strange when alone for periods of time, and I'm claustraphobic.

I said in my Animagus app that I wanted my animal to be able to communicate with humans. Initially I did not think that this choice had taken that into account, but then I realised that wasn't the case - the breed rarely barks, alerting the owner in various, other ways. I really like that as an animal I could communicate with people in subtle ways, that they would understand. It also says that the Saarlooswolfhond builds up close attachments. I think that's true of me too - I tend to have lots of acquantences, but not many really close friends. I like that I'd be able to communicate well with people I chose to, without broadcasting it all over the place.

I very much feel like this Animagus form would suit me in terms of personality and functionality.

#233 - corky_dork - Saluki

After expanding my research beyond Wikipedia, I feel quite foolish for how excited I was when I read about the American Foxhound. While the breed and I do share many characteristics, the Saluki also exhibits many of the same straits and then some.

It is true that, given enough space outside or in (such as a stage), I will run around freely, I am relatively inactive when in a smaller indoor area, preferring to sleep, read, or laze about online. Salukis are also known to be energetic but “behave quietly indoors”. They are actually quiet in general, not barking just for the sake of barking. I myself don’t generally waste words unless necessary. They enjoy being active, but can be quiet and people around them should respect their need for privacy and peace when they want it. I found myself smiling at this because it rang very true for me.

One of the other familiar traits they are known for is their attitude when outdoors. They are easily distracted and will not pay attention to the calls of their owners if they are chasing something. I have a tendency to wander off when I see something cool or just get bored and zip off with no real regards to my surrounds. Speaking of zipping off, because of the tendency to wander off and their one-track mind when on the hunt, it is advised to keep Salukis on a lead. However, it is not advised to attempt to jog with them as they run faster than humans. Although I am not necessary fast, my movement instructor does like to point out my natural stride at every possible opportunity. This is relevant because my natural stride does not fit my height; that is, I am about five foot and two inches and can easily keep up with a six-foot-four man. I simply can’t help it and outpace people. Everyone’s just too slow for me.

Salukis are highly sensitive to stressful situations and cannot be trained using harsh discipline, much like myself. I cannot take harsh words and am frightened by confrontation. I want to know and do what is expected of me, but the person telling me what to do must be gentle and patient or else I will be afraid of them and stress out.

A trait I was interested to learn about was their tendency to drift toward shy/suspicious attitudes if they are not socialized enough. My friends and I rarely hang out (understandably. We all hold busy schedules) and, although I can entertain myself perfectly well at home, I sometimes become paranoid about my social ties to them and to other people. Years of failure to socialize properly have instilled in me a wariness to new people and old friends.

Honestly, there are so many more things in the Saluki that I see in myself (true, it’s not a perfect fit but, really, if we were basing these on perfect matches our forms would be our own human bodies, if that. Maybe I’m not a perfect match of myself), even their tendency toward destructive chewing when they’re bored (okay, I don’t destroy things, but I do make noises and chew on anything from pens to people when I get bored). All-in-all, I think whoever nominated the Saluki hit it pretty dead on considering the information provided and would be honored to have this form.

#235 - dawnfarie - Roborovski Hamster

After much consideration, I have decided to choose the Roborovski Hamster as my Animagus form.

It was initially a choice between the Hawaiian Monk Seal and the Roborovski Hamster, but upon helpful points provided by fellow HiH’ers and after going through all four of the selected animals again, it was finally down to the Belgian Shepherd Dog (Groenendael) and the Hamster.

Upon comparison, I have decided to go with the Roborovski Hamster because it is just too cute to resist and not forgetting the points we have in common.

The Roborovski is the smallest of all hamsters to be kept as pets. I am only about 1.53m and the shortest one among my siblings. Also it can be found in parts of Northern China which technically makes it Chinese and I am one too! (Hehe hope this point makes sense and counts!)

Other characteristics of the Roborovski includes: ~

very curious / easily startled / generally timid / very active / will nip in attempt to escape / fast / enjoy being together with other Roborovskis / extremely vicious / constantly entertaining / require less personal handling / generally nocturnal / do not like direct sunlight / generally play, eat and sleep together in the same spot and prefer to live in a large habitat

I am a curious person by nature, but I do know when it is the right time to butt in. Unless it concerns me or my friends, I would usually try not to get involved. I am also easily startled and timid when it comes to horror films and other sudden scares (e.g. People who suddenly appear behind me). Although I do enjoy watching scary movies but if there are two many scares (like those in Japanese horror films) I am pretty sure you will not find me watching it, even if there are others there with me.

I also like to be kept busy with activities. Should there be none (which is quite rare), I would try and find new things to do. Keeping me active not only helps pass time quickly, it also gives me a sense of accomplishment in the things I can do and complete within a given time frame.

Roborovskis are extremely social and generally play, eat and sleep together in the same spot. I love company and I would usually hang out with my friends whenever I am free. Also as a couple, my husband and I do lots of stuff together. Especially eating meals together because both of us love eating!

Because Roborovskis are very active, they prefer to live in a large habitat which gives them lots of space to move around. I do like the idea of spacious living with furniture evenly distributed so as to give the area a fresh free flow of air.

Finally I can be found constantly entertaining my love ones, especially my friends. I feel it is my duty to keep them happy, sometimes at my own expense. I do believe laughter is the best medicine and by giving them a reason to, keeps me happy too!

#236 - devils_sidekick - American Robin

For my anamigus I chose to become an American Robin.

I feel that I am alike the American Robin in many ways. The robin loves to be in the air, I love being in the air especially flying becuase I get to go someplace new, a new destination. The robin also usually goes back to the same place each year, I to do that to, after I travel I always look foward to returning home, back to the familiar, where I am comnfortable. Going back home to my family and friends.

The robin is very active during the day and at night goes and spends the night with the family. I too am also very active during the day, I go to work and do what I have to do, then at night I go back to my family, relaxing at home. The robin is a loner at times, but when his family needs them they are with them, I am like that also. I love being alone, going places especially movies. I love to have alone time, but when it is time to be friends and family, I am happy to give up that time and be with them.

I have read somewhere that the American Robin like to start breeding in the springtime. I was born in the springtime, during the month of May, which is mainly when robins breed. Also robins eat earthworms and fruit, I like to eat fruit and vegtables, basically things that come from the earth, except for the earth worms of course. :) Robins are also mainly from North America and is abundant there, I am from New York. The color of a robin's egg is blue and that is also my favorite color. I am starting to think I was an American Robin in a prior life. Hmmm....something to think about.

#237 - equalupstairs - Panther chameleon

The panther chameleon, like myself, values its privacy above all other things. Regardless of its surroundings, it will make sure it can blend in- a defense mechanism I deem of great importance. The panther chameleon is bright, bold, and blatantly refuses to drink bottled water. Cute, right? We have that one in common as well.

While I am far from a violent person, I have absolutely no qualms with expressing myself if I feel my personal space is overcrowded. I'm curious, but have a sense of boundaries and don't mind sticking to the same areas much- most of my exploring is done inside my imagination! I'm an incredibly picky, moderate-sized eater, though my diet doesn't generally (ie: ever) include insects, but I suppose you could find similarity in high-protein approaches!

I'm a bit of a loner. I don't mind companions, but they can't be in my face all the time (guides dictate that while mild-mannered, panther chameleons are best be housed individually). I'm easy to please and not very difficult to take care of- ask my mom, she'll be proud to say I very rarely ask for shopping money- all I need's a bit of food and water XD

We even have similar ideal habitats- no less than 75 degrees or higher than 90 degrees F. Also, though I work well with males I generally get along much better thrown in with other women. Okay, this has been probably the worst essay you've ever read. I researched, I swear. But this whole, seriousness thing doesn't really become me.

#238 - avocado_love - Striped hyena

I have to say… I had some very good choices given to me by the voters. All four of the animals fit a part of my personality, but the one that first stood out and continued to stand out was the Striped Hyena.

At first, I was like, “Why not Spotted Hyena?” They’re bigger, more intimidating, and more of the traditional type. All hyenas are intelligent, and I don’t mind saying that I am as well. I have always been a masculine female, and several subspecies of hyenas are matriarchal. And as I researched the striped species I found it was like looking in an slightly warped, uncomfortable mirror.

The thing about striped hyenas is that they are adaptable. They’ll eat anything, from fruit to hunting small animals to chasing other predators off their kill. They like to work alone, like I do, but can be seen forming packs when the need is there. I’m a naturally outgoing person - I would go insane if I was alone all the time, but I would go equally crazy if I had to be confined to a group-structure (like the spotted hyena). The striped forms alliances as it sees fit. I dig that. It can have a loose family structure with several generations pitching in, or a band of similarly aged hyenas, or work alone.

These animals are nocturnal or diurnal -- whatever is needed to get food. Also, the striped hyena has a really cool mane that stands straight up and can increase how big the animal is by a third. I’ve won most of my confrontations as a kid and a teen by acting tough - most of the time the other person will back down before there is any bloodshed.

Another thing about hyenas, including the striped hyena, is that there is a lot of myth and folklore about them being evil and ridden by witches...ect. I’ve dealt with a lot of misconceptions about myself in my life for my religious beliefs and hey I am a Slytherin - it’s not like my house has the best reputation.

From a practical standpoint I might be able to get away with the form of a striped hyena in a suburban place. It doesn’t have the traditional hyena “look” like the bad guys in the Lion King. From a distance, it might be mistaken for a really big, freaky dog. Up close there wouldn’t be any mistake it's a hyena, but I like the idea of a form I could use in the city and in the forests.

I see myself in this animal for its adaptability, for it’s loose-yet-vital family structure, for its ability to rise above persecution, and for its natural secretiveness (not a lot is known about this species, still to this day).

But I think this picture http://www.predatorconservation.com/images/stripedhyena1.jpg did it for me. I don’t know why, but when I imagine myself with an animagas form I imagine this look; easy, confident, graceful, dangerous… yes, but at the same time very alert and in tune with its environment. I could walk through the forests with this form, or over a desert, in a savannah... along the coast. It’s made to fit and to adapt. It's a survivor and an opportunist. It’s totally me.

#240 - lost_in_dreamz_ - Bottlenose dolphin

I've always felt a strong affinity with dolphins, bottlenose dolphins in particular. They're not my favorite animal, nor among those I find the cutest, but I've been inexplicably drawn to them since I was a little kid. Every summer along the DelMarVa shore, at morning and dusk, I've watched schools of them feeding, playing, and leaping. And I never fail to feel this deep tug within me, this incredible urge to swim out and join them. I've come pretty close, often getting within 20 feet or so, but I've never let myself go so far as to invade their natural space. I've always just been awed by their grace, their character, and their seamless bridging of the world both above and under water.

There are uncanny similarities between myself and bottlenose dolphins, representative of both my personal character and some of my deepest desires. The most undeniable is my connection to water, having always felt more comfortable in the sea than on land. On land, I'm clumsy, overweight, out of shape. In land I'm weightless, acrobatic, and bold to the point of fearlessness. Dolphins are the utter embodiment of this emotion.

My communication style closely mimics that of the bottlenose. I have a high, sing-songy voice and infectious laughter, which is quite similar to their vocalizations. I'm also well known for making animated hand gestures corresponding with my speech, while Bottlenose dolphins further communication with their tails.

The bottlenose is known for being one of the most intelligent animals. Intelligence is of the utmost importance to me and one of the things I value most in life.

The bottlenose is inherently a group animal, however the size of these groups (pods) can greatly vary, ranging from 15 to 100 dolphins, with frequently changing members - though they've also been known to travel in solitary. I am a social creature by nature, but also strongly value my independence. I prefer to keep my groups on the small side, and often travel between various groups, with a history of my friends changing (sometimes a bit more than I'd like). I also greatly enjoy my independence and love going off on solitary excursions and explorations.

I'm in law school because I have a saving people thing. I want to be a champion of justice, and save the world one person at a time. Right now I'm doing pro bono work with domestic violence victims, so its a start. Dolphins too have a saving people thing, and have been know to rescue swimmers from sharks or from drowning. By taking on a bottlenose form, I could embrace my love of the underwater world without giving up my connection to the people I love, and people in general while in animagus form.

On another, more simplistic yet appropriate note, bottlenose dolphins' preferred food is tuna. Tuna sandwhiches are pretty much my favorite food. Even our eating habits are similar! I'm also from the Mid-Atlantic, so we share similar territory.

In sum, the bottlenose dolphin is my ideal animal form. We share similar mannerisms, especially in communication and social routines. This form would allow me to freely experience the underwater world, a long-standing dream of mine, without completely severing my ties to the human world. I can have my exploration and my heroics, while embracing the sea.
