event timeline
Every so often, something...strange occurs within Somarium. Some are created by the characters, others by the world itself. This page will detail all of the important past events that have occurred. For another look at the more recent events, refer to the Moon Cycles page.
Note: The Timeline has been arranged from oldest to newest.

Signal Post
Not so much of an event as really just the first official welcome the Overlord gave to the first group of people who had arrived into Somarium. Not much was really known at the time. Just that the place was old, abandoned, dilapidated, there were moving scarecrows, a floating castle, and ghosts. However, they did learn who the Overlord was...sort of. She could not say much and claimed she could not remember anything.
From that point on, everyone started exploring.

Nothing really too important. Just forgot that technically it was no longer summer so had an official "Hey it's autumn!" notice. The Overlord was hovering around in case anyone wanted to talk to her. She was also thinking about Halloween. Foreshadow much?

The Overlord thought it fit that the people of Somarium celebrate this spooky holiday. It was unknown if Somarium itself actually celebrated the "holiday," but the Overlord had managed to find bits and pieces about the special day and had come up with a three-day fun-filled event.

For the first day, everyone found themselves in an isolated carnival all dressed in various costumes //not// of their choosing. Most of the people just enjoyed themselves and went on the rides. It seemed that the event would go without much of a problem. [ Signal post]

For the second day, everyone was trapped in a haunted mansion, filled with ghosts, zombies, and illusions. They were grouped off into different teams and had to make their way through, but even then there was no escape. This was a day full of terror, and some groups had worse experiences than others. The third day, however, allowed everyone to relax a bit more. There was a bonfire and food laid out in a field and everyone could just let out a sigh of relief. [ Signal Post]
❦ winter: 11-14-08
OOC Announcement
This wasn't so much of an event than a time of when winter arrived into Somarium. With a blizzard. One morning everyone awoke to find the ground covered with snow and the lakes and ponds frozen over. Everyone quickly had to find some winter clothing, which were thankfully readily available by the various empty stories. It was officially kicked off with snowball wars provided by Kamina.
Yes, Autumn only lasted for like a month. No one ever said Somarium had normal seasonal changes.

OOC Announcement
Again, not so much of an event than an introduction to the various cards that were available within Somarium. The two that the characters suddenly found themselves with were the Body Switch and Gender Switch ones. A lot of confusion was stirred up as people suddenly found themselves as the opposite gender or in another body.
The trick with the cards was that it was like they become possessed and are practically forced to swipe the card into the Dreamberry. More cards would be later introduced.

Overlord's Nightmare; OOC Announcement; Signal Post; OOC Announcement: Aftermath
Things turned dark as everyone suddenly saw a nightmare appear on their Dreamberries, and it was from the Overlord herself. No one had ever seen a dream of hers before, so this was a bit of a surprise, particularly the gruesomeness of it.
The next night, however, the characters found themselves inside the dream itself. It was a warped, twisted world and everyone found themselves fighting against strange monsters, both from their own worlds as well as everyone else's.
And then there were the noctaere. Strange creatures that had no real shape or form and would attack anyone. Worst of all, they could not be killed. They were not invincible, but how to destroy them was beyond them.
Everyone basically tried to defend themselves and hoped that the nightmare would soon end and release them. Death was not option. They could not die. Literally. Sucked for Vamp.

A bit of cheer was in order, and the Overlord, still feeling a bit guilty for having to put everyone through that horror, decided to try to liven things up by dressing Somarium in festive cheer. She even had a Secret Santa project and the introduction to some other ghosts were made as they left messages on everyone's Dreamberries.
Tamaki threw a festive party where everyone could get together and mingle, and he and Euphemia directed a play: A Christmas Carol. However, the play turned out to be disastrous as everyone who participated got different scripts. There was a bit of a hullabaloo when Duster's Rope Snake went down Raven's pants as well.
But otherwise, it was a good time for everyone to get together, meet new people, and relax until...

The Post.
A fight occurred between Vamp and Raiden during the festivities, which ended up with Raiden's death. The Overlord did not hear about it until later, however, so the punishment for ruining the holiday cheer would come later. And it did.
Why is this listed? You don't kill during the Christmas holidays, that's like a taboo! And such things will of course not go by unpunished.

OOC New Years Announcement; Signal Post
The end of the long Christmas event. Flying horses attached to carriages could be found around Somarium, and when people got on them, they found themselves being whisked away to the floating castle itself, a place that many have wondered how to reach but never could. There a giant party was being held, and the characters could explore certain parts of the castle.
Many relationships were formed, and it ended with a giant show of fireworks. LOTS of fireworks.

The Post
Sometime after the New Year's party, the Overlord did release her wrath upon Vamp. She turned him into a mouse.
...However her magic went a little awry and Raiden was caught in it. He got turned into a bunny. A cyborg bunny, but he was still rather cute.
They eventually turned back to normal.

For a while, everything had been relatively calm...until during the middle of one night, a large earthquake went through Somarium, causing great distraction around the outer parts of the city. Immediately after, a relentless storm of //warm, black// rain thundered through the city and for a week it stayed like that. Some areas were starting to flood, and those who managed to survive the earthquake sought shelter in three places: Tamaki's café, Raven's Tavern, and the Courthouse.
It was a dark time of chaos, but it should have served as a warning for a new threat...

With no warning, the rain suddenly stopped. An eerie silence fell upon the city and village, until a ghastly wail broke it.
The invasion of the noctaere had begun.
The creatures had been introduced before in the Nightmare event, but now this was for real. All aspects of the noctaere carried over, and everyone, having only just been through an earthquake and freak storm, now had to battle these creatures who seemed to be invincible.
What would happen next?

The noctaere disappeared just as mysteriously and suddenly as they appeared. Things were still a mess due from the damage from the earthquake, but mostly everyone made it out alive somehow or another.
But something was amiss. A mysterious ship was approaching the city from the desert and the barrier had also gone down. This allowed the characters to go out and explore freely. Many went out to the ghost ship to see if they could try and stop it, or at least figure out what it was doing out there to begin with.
Eventually, however, it would land and arrive into the industrial district and sit there for a few days doing...nothing. But it wouldn't stay there for long.

I'M ON A BOAT Whether or not they intended for it, those who were still on the ghost ship would suddenly find themselves adrift at...the desert? By the time they realized they had left the city, the ship was already several miles out. The unwilling passengers were left to see where the ship would take them, partly in hopes to find out more about the mysterious and unknown world. Many explored the ship, discovering the skeletal remains of its original crew and various, but unreadable, documents.
It would be a few days before they eventually arrived at their destination...

The ghost ship suddenly dropped the explorers in front of a ruined town, though it looked more like some kind of military defense camp. The characters were free to wander around and wonder what the hell was going on. Unfortunately, they weren't alone. Noctaere were also lurking around, which made information gathering a bit difficult. They were eventually randomly sent back home.

Spring has arrived into Somarium. Even though it was still a little brisk, the days were getting warmer and after everything they had been through, this was a nice, refreshing time to try and relax and get back to what they were doing.

Since no one could celebrate Valentine's Day due to the previous events, Tamaki had it in his head to try and fix that. Or rather he had a dream about the Host Club being designated butlers for a day. And that's how the White Day Auction came to be. Couples came together, some tried to kill each other, but it was quite a magical experience.
And yes, the men were auctioned off and the women bid on them.

Warning - Not for those who get squicked by cannibalism The Log; The Video Broadcast
Somarium got a rude awakening when many people found themselves watching someone getting eaten. Well it was Vamp, so nothing was really lost, but it did strike a wave of paranoia for the residents.
Fortunately, it was all resolved when Washu, the greatest scientific genius of the multiuniverse, stepped up to the plate and created a supplementary diet that the Embryon Tribe could eat in place of real humans. It took some time, but eventually the rest of Somarium learned about their situation and were able to live relatively peacefully alongside them.

The days have slowed down, as well as got warmer. Summer time had officially arrived into Somarium. Somehow, despite being surrounded by a desert, it wasn't really that scorching hot.

The Thread
So Kamina encountered Hades, who was by the fountain. Upon seeing the god's hair on fire, and not knowing it was supposed to be like that, he did what any other normal person would do: drench it with water.
Of course this made Hades rage and he kind of threw fireballs at Kamina. He then did a fire pillar that ended up destroying the fountain.
Many mourned. Particularly Lelouch and Suzaku since it was their emo fountain not really, but the players did so that counts right?

The Notice
All right, technically the fountain was already sealed/taped off when it was first destroyed, but we kind of forgot to actually put an official notice. So one was put.
Anyway, the important thing was that the fountain was still missing and a small barrier was placed around it so no one would could fall in.
But why was this important? That would be because...

There were tunnels underneath the village of Espoir the entire time. And the fountain was actually a secret entrance to it. Well what do you know, destroying something can reveal hidden treasures!
After a public broadcast by one of the ghosts beckoning for help, several people went down for some reason or another and found themselves falling into random rooms and with random groups of people. From there they worked together and tried to figure out what was going on and what was in the tunnels.
They weren't alone though. A couple of minotaurs were roaming about...
They eventually were teleported out and the entrance was once again sealed with a new fountain. It was in homage to the ghost "Precious"'s bunny.

Main Post
A little late, but Tamaki and Rena threw a large fiesta celebration in honor of being in Somarium for a year. It brought about mixed feelings amongst the populace, mainly because some people have been there a year and have not returned home, or at least found a way out. It also dawned on them that they still have no real idea what kind of world they were in.
Unfortunately, that was going to change.

Not unlike the surprise earthquake that hit Somarium a few months back, a large, freak sandstorm ravaged through the populace, destroying almost everything in its path. Well the majority of the cottages in the village were wiped at least, and several buildings within the city were severely damaged.
Residents had to frantically find shelter, either in closets or basements, wherever it was safe. There were random one hour lulls in which it was safe to go out, and some took advantage of this time to try and assess the damage as well figure out where everyone was.
Dreamberries were relatively dysfunctional, with text communication being the best way to communicate.
Why did it happen? No one knew, but that wasn't going to be the end of it.

Before the sandstorm even disappeared, the desert monsters made their way into the city and pretty much wreaked serious havoc among the inhabitants. It seemed like it would never end until the Overlord finally appeared.

The Overlord herself finally appeared and with all of her power she destroyed the monsters and restored everything. The village and the city had quite a big makeover, and new additions were even created, such as a very large lake and a mini pseudo-canal system. The barrier was also set four miles farther out than it had been previously, and this was actually where the barrier had been originally before anyone arrived.
Autumn had also officially arrived into Somarium. Pay no mind that this is a month earlier than the previous one.
But her work was not done. After restoring Somarium as much as she could, she then descended down and made herself available to the people so she could try and answer any questions they might ask. Some more successful than others.
In the end, however, it is evident that she is very weak, and the truth about dream energy is revealed. But what will happen next?

For the whole month of October, Somarium underwent yet another setting change. This time it resembled Halloween Town from A Nightmare Before Christmas. The Halloween Carnival also returned, thought it was apparently creepier than usual what with the fog surrounding it and not being accessible for a while.

The Halloween Carnival officially opened...with creepy clown announcement. The Credits System was also introduced on October 21, and missions began October 25.

One of the ghosts, Precious, was murdered up in the floating castle. It wasn't a pretty scene. Clues were left behind as to how it happened and everyone was brought up to help solve the mystery. On October 30, they were also donned in costumes to fit with the Haloween theme. The mystery has yet to be resolved.

As a sort of "American Thanksgiving" themed event, residents suddenly found themselves rather hungry. It was particularly strange as they did not need to eat before this event occurred. But it wasn't just for food. Residents found themselves craving anything. Knowledge, power, shoes. Also to note is the fact that this occurred during the new moon. That's right, the moon cycles were soon at hand.

The Secret Santa event returned-with a bit of an incentive to join. Residents were told that whoever gave the best present would have a chance to return home. A trick? That's not all. Signs of a strange floating mountain could be seen making its way toward Somarium. Huh, so that's what that black dot was.

Moon Cycle 00 (New Moon). Yep, it had been a trick after all. Instead of visiting home, residents had realistic visions and hallucinations that the area surrounding them was their home world. Others could interact with them, but they would be following their own delusions. Worst part was that what they saw was basically a "worst case scenario" where their world was ruined. There was an antidote, however. But it wasn't cheap. Those who bought the antidote had to pay with nightmares. In addition to the event, on December 31 the floating mountain "docked" right above the lake.

Moon Cycle 08 (New Moon). Due to the frigid weather, the Dreamberries were knocked out of commission. This unfortunately meant that the translator that enabled everyone to understand each other no longer functioned. Yeah, one can imagine the chaos and confusion that caused. But that's not all. Residents also had the lovely misfortune of having recurring nightmares of their worst memory or fear. And that still wasn't the worst of it.

Still during the Moon Cycle 08, residents found themselves in a mirror version of Somarium. Well, more like a nightmare version. Best of all, they were stuck in a warehouse where noctaere crawled and attacked others at will. Fun times.

Up until this point, it had only been the current residents populating Somarium. One could imagine how lonely that would get. However, during the Moon Cycle 09, "ghosts" suddenly appeared within Somarium and essentially took the role of NPCs. They weren't rather complex; in fact they were more like sheep. Creepy sheep. This was also the end of the Dream Credits System and instead an implied currency was installed in its place. Things were no longer free for the taking-Somarium was becoming more and more like a modern society.

Moon Cycle 12 (Full Moon). Residents suddenly found themselves able to interact in dreams. That's right. They could enter into the dreamer's dream and in some ways affect what happened within the dream. It was essentially an out-of-body experience, only in the dream world. They could only go one level- The inspiration for Inception-

Moon Cycle 16 (New Moon). For a week Somarium turned into Jurassic Park, including the dinos. The NPCs had turned into tribesman who had the potential to provoke and attack everyone else. It was definitely a fine example of survival of the fittest. On April 23, residents suddenly found themselves able to shapeshift into any animal.

Moon Cycle 20 (Full Moon). Somarium's first AU event. The world changed to back when Somarium was a real bustling city high in its prime. It was optional, but those affected also believed that they were part of the scene. They had jobs and lived their life as if they had been born and raised there among the populace. They even made families with one another (you can just imagine how that ended when everything turned back to normal). This was the first time where residents had a chance to learn how their world worked, especially those lucky enough to work in the research facilities. This was the time where the concept of dream energy was introduced, and that people from other worlds were actually a common occurrence, in fact considered normal. There was even mention of a "Dream Gate", but it was out of commission. Everyone retained all of these memories.

Moon Cycle 24 (New Moon). At first, residents would find themselves falling victim to a variety of traditional superstitions. If they stepped on a crack, some person's back would break. But the most troubling part of this particular cycle was when residents were physically affected by their dreams. For instance, if they were injured or changed into something in the dream, residents would wake up to discover that extra limb or injury.

During the Moon Cycle 27 cycle, residents awoke to strange crystals in their possession. The crystal represented something that either represented themselves, or something that they cherished most. For this particular week, it also had the bonus effect of making one feel either extra nice or extra bad. Each time a certain deed was performed to that effect, it would glow purple.

Moon Cycle 28 (Full Moon). Those crystals weren't apparently just for show. They gave residents a super power! There was also a strange broadcast made by someone called "The Doctor" who seemed willing-if tersely-to dish out some information for those who bothered to ask.

During the Moon Cycle 31, a strange broadcast was made across the network. It featured two girls who addressed themselves as "Chelsea" and "Sweet Pea." Stranger still was the fact that they were inside the floating castle. And apparently there wasn't much in it; at least according to them. But why were the up there to begin with...?

Moon Cycle 32 (New Moon). Without any warning whatsoever, the floating castle suddenly fell from the sky, through the barrier, and into the desert. This would set up a series of events that would change Somarium.

During the Moon Cycle 33, as a result of the castle crashing down there was a massive blackout that lasted for several days.

The floating castle eventually sank into the desert sands, creating a massive sink hole. A large, black statue rose from the depths and rested upon the now sealed sink hole. Power was also restored.

What better way to get back into the swing of things after a castle crashing into the desert and a weird, creepy statue showing up than going back to school? All right! Schools were opened up and anyone could join or even take over if they so desired.

Moon Cycle 36 (Full Moon). As if to try and raise everyone's spirits, the locals decided to throw a festival in honor of their hard efforts (may whatever Somarium dream gods bless them). There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing, a lot of eating, and definitely a lot of partying and drinking. But it was a nice change of pace and it ended with a bang. Literally. There were fireworks.

Apparently that giant statue with the spinny knives was growing impatient and tried to push the residents along in trying to figure things out. It read aloud the little inscription found on its base and the rabbit fountain in the central plaza of Espoir rose to reveal the secret entrance to the tunnels. The tunnels were now open for exploration.

Moon Cycle 40 (New Moon). This was one heck of a week for the residents. Throughout the whole week they were once again stuck in costumes-only this time they were able to use whatever abilities the costume represented. But as usual, that wasn't all. A mysterious train arrived and those who boarded it were taken down into the sink hole and into the world itself. That's right, they saw the actual core of the world. There they discovered the floating castle, half sunk in the mysterious goop. Upon entering, however, the explorers found themselves fighting for their lives in an extreme haunted castle. There nightmares became all too real-and dangerous. Back on the surface, residents weren't having it easy, either. Once again the Dreamwalker ability was granted and anyone in Somarium could enter others' dreams. Which was probably a good thing since they tended to be their worst nightmare. Will there ever be an actual "Happy" Halloween? Probably not.

Moon Cycle 43 (Full Moon). Yet another "American Thanksgiving" themed event, only this time the food came alive. And attacked. Makes one look at vegetables in a whole new light when they pull something like this. Okay, not exactly, but they were tenacious little buggers and were willing to sacrifice themselves to defend their fooddom! And who would want a giant pumpkin flying toward their head? Seriously.

A Coliseum (yes, it's spelled that way) appeared on the eastern side of the floating mountain for those who may want to train or hone in their skills. Weapons could also be purchased there, if for a price.

Moon Cycle 44 (Full Moon). Wait a minute-wasn't it just the full moon with the veggies attacking? Apparently the moon wanted to stay shiny. Really wanted to stay shiny. For the whole month of December, the moon remained in its full moon status. Was this normal? Come now, is anything in Somarium ever normal? For the first week of December, Somarium became decked out with the traditional Christmas decorations and little "tricks", like the mistletoe that made you kiss, hug, or high five the person you met under there. It was also the start of the traditional Secret Santa.

Moon Cycle 45 (Full Moon). Somarium's first setting change was into Candyland. Everything except for living creatures turned into candy. It was even edible. There were also giant nutcrackers to harass everyone.

Moon Cycle 47 (Full Moon). Surf's up, Somarium. Summer suddenly hit the winter scene this week as all the snow just disappeared and the bright summer sun warmed everyone up. Of course anyone still wearing shorts at the end of the week found themselves freezing, but it was a nice respite after those freezing temperatures.

During the Moon Cycle 50, another dream came to everyone. This time it focused on the floating mountain, hinting that something could be inside it. But everyone would awake to the sounds and sight of black ice converging upon it and dragging it outside of the barrier and to the sink hole. The statue rose in the air, also entrapping in some strange black goo.

Moon Cycle 51 (New Moon). Throughout the week a giant yeti popped out of the desert and ravaged the city, village, and the floating mountain. It first focused on the floating mountain, beating on it as if trying to destroy it. It was only until later that it attacked the rabbit fountain in the village. Thanks to everyone's efforts, the beast was finally killed and destroyed. It took a while to recover, but eventually Somarium returned to normalcy.

Moon Cycle 59 (New Moon). Those special cards disappeared and were replaced by one vintage looking card. The picture displayed images of the residents in 1920s Prohibition-Era America clothing and sepia toned. They didn't really do much, but they were just yet another clue to what was to come.

Moon Cycle 62. Overnight, Somarium's cityscape changed to reflect the 1920s of the United States. Clothes were changed, everything had a strange sepia tone to it, and even the locals were completely altered. It was of course the final hint of what was happening next.

Moon Cycle 71 (Full Moon). After a brief lull and a prolonged heat wave, Somarium was struck by a sudden torrential storm, followed by an even more sudden flash flood. Of course there was nothing "normal" about it. With strange black rain and murky waters infested with monsters, the residents were hard pressed to survive.
Finally, after the waters had reached their height, the barrier finally broke and the waters receded into the sink hole, forming a huge, turbulent whirlpool. Dark, nightmareish creatures soon inhabited as well.
The city itself suffered great damage. It took a while, but eventually the city recovered-except for the Industrial District.

Moon Cycle 75 (New Moon). For the past several weeks, strangers and military personnel had been slowly gathering into Somarium. Where they came from, no one knew, but that was about to change. First, a guy named Ryan Tassit made a Broadcast giving a bit of an explanation of what was going on. At this point in time, the Industrial District had been experiencing a lot of heavy activity due to the flood. Ryan warned them not to go near it, but wouldn't explain why.
Apparently it was because some kind of outbreak happened, causing the local residents to go berserk and appear as if they were possessed. Those who had been contained finally broke out and started to attack everyone. Their key features were the purple eyes and purple gemstones that they were dead set on implanting on everyone.
Eventually, more military and medical reinforcements arrived. But what cured everyone was a brilliant flash of light that appeared from the floating mountain and the barrier. The barrier mended itself and the whirlpool outside experienced its own cleansing.

Moon Cycle 79 (Full Moon). The Autumn Festival was back again! A month earlier than the other, but it seemed like the season was already starting to change. The traditional events were held, and Tamaki hosted the grand finale this year with the floating lanterns. Sirius Black and James Potter also helped by providing special fireworks. But there was a bigger surprise in store for everyone at the end, one that no one could have predicted.

Moon Cycle 79 (Full Moon). The Autumn Festival had been a hit but there was an even grander finale when the one who had always been called "The Overlord" suddenly appeared. Many did not know her, but those who did were shocked. She revealed herself to be "Sylvani," a Dreamwalker stationed to guard Somarium's location. She revealed to everyone that they were Dreamwalkers and began to tell them more about their world. There was still one large mystery hanging in the air, but she promised that it would be revealed later.

Not so much of an event as really just the first official welcome the Overlord gave to the first group of people who had arrived into Somarium. Not much was really known at the time. Just that the place was old, abandoned, dilapidated, there were moving scarecrows, a floating castle, and ghosts. However, they did learn who the Overlord was...sort of. She could not say much and claimed she could not remember anything.
From that point on, everyone started exploring.

The Overlord thought it fit that the people of Somarium celebrate this spooky holiday. It was unknown if Somarium itself actually celebrated the "holiday," but the Overlord had managed to find bits and pieces about the special day and had come up with a three-day fun-filled event.

For the second day, everyone was trapped in a haunted mansion, filled with ghosts, zombies, and illusions. They were grouped off into different teams and had to make their way through, but even then there was no escape. This was a day full of terror, and some groups had worse experiences than others. The third day, however, allowed everyone to relax a bit more. There was a bonfire and food laid out in a field and everyone could just let out a sigh of relief. [ Signal Post]

This wasn't so much of an event than a time of when winter arrived into Somarium. With a blizzard. One morning everyone awoke to find the ground covered with snow and the lakes and ponds frozen over. Everyone quickly had to find some winter clothing, which were thankfully readily available by the various empty stories. It was officially kicked off with snowball wars provided by Kamina.
Yes, Autumn only lasted for like a month. No one ever said Somarium had normal seasonal changes.

Again, not so much of an event than an introduction to the various cards that were available within Somarium. The two that the characters suddenly found themselves with were the Body Switch and Gender Switch ones. A lot of confusion was stirred up as people suddenly found themselves as the opposite gender or in another body.
The trick with the cards was that it was like they become possessed and are practically forced to swipe the card into the Dreamberry. More cards would be later introduced.

Things turned dark as everyone suddenly saw a nightmare appear on their Dreamberries, and it was from the Overlord herself. No one had ever seen a dream of hers before, so this was a bit of a surprise, particularly the gruesomeness of it.
The next night, however, the characters found themselves inside the dream itself. It was a warped, twisted world and everyone found themselves fighting against strange monsters, both from their own worlds as well as everyone else's.
And then there were the noctaere. Strange creatures that had no real shape or form and would attack anyone. Worst of all, they could not be killed. They were not invincible, but how to destroy them was beyond them.
Everyone basically tried to defend themselves and hoped that the nightmare would soon end and release them. Death was not option. They could not die. Literally. Sucked for Vamp.

A bit of cheer was in order, and the Overlord, still feeling a bit guilty for having to put everyone through that horror, decided to try to liven things up by dressing Somarium in festive cheer. She even had a Secret Santa project and the introduction to some other ghosts were made as they left messages on everyone's Dreamberries.
Tamaki threw a festive party where everyone could get together and mingle, and he and Euphemia directed a play: A Christmas Carol. However, the play turned out to be disastrous as everyone who participated got different scripts. There was a bit of a hullabaloo when Duster's Rope Snake went down Raven's pants as well.
But otherwise, it was a good time for everyone to get together, meet new people, and relax until...

The Post.
A fight occurred between Vamp and Raiden during the festivities, which ended up with Raiden's death. The Overlord did not hear about it until later, however, so the punishment for ruining the holiday cheer would come later. And it did.
Why is this listed? You don't kill during the Christmas holidays, that's like a taboo! And such things will of course not go by unpunished.

The end of the long Christmas event. Flying horses attached to carriages could be found around Somarium, and when people got on them, they found themselves being whisked away to the floating castle itself, a place that many have wondered how to reach but never could. There a giant party was being held, and the characters could explore certain parts of the castle.
Many relationships were formed, and it ended with a giant show of fireworks. LOTS of fireworks.

Sometime after the New Year's party, the Overlord did release her wrath upon Vamp. She turned him into a mouse.
...However her magic went a little awry and Raiden was caught in it. He got turned into a bunny. A cyborg bunny, but he was still rather cute.

For a while, everything had been relatively calm...until during the middle of one night, a large earthquake went through Somarium, causing great distraction around the outer parts of the city. Immediately after, a relentless storm of //warm, black// rain thundered through the city and for a week it stayed like that. Some areas were starting to flood, and those who managed to survive the earthquake sought shelter in three places: Tamaki's café, Raven's Tavern, and the Courthouse.
It was a dark time of chaos, but it should have served as a warning for a new threat...

With no warning, the rain suddenly stopped. An eerie silence fell upon the city and village, until a ghastly wail broke it.

The creatures had been introduced before in the Nightmare event, but now this was for real. All aspects of the noctaere carried over, and everyone, having only just been through an earthquake and freak storm, now had to battle these creatures who seemed to be invincible.

The noctaere disappeared just as mysteriously and suddenly as they appeared. Things were still a mess due from the damage from the earthquake, but mostly everyone made it out alive somehow or another.
But something was amiss. A mysterious ship was approaching the city from the desert and the barrier had also gone down. This allowed the characters to go out and explore freely. Many went out to the ghost ship to see if they could try and stop it, or at least figure out what it was doing out there to begin with.
Eventually, however, it would land and arrive into the industrial district and sit there for a few days doing...nothing. But it wouldn't stay there for long.

I'M ON A BOAT Whether or not they intended for it, those who were still on the ghost ship would suddenly find themselves adrift at...the desert? By the time they realized they had left the city, the ship was already several miles out. The unwilling passengers were left to see where the ship would take them, partly in hopes to find out more about the mysterious and unknown world. Many explored the ship, discovering the skeletal remains of its original crew and various, but unreadable, documents.
It would be a few days before they eventually arrived at their destination...

The ghost ship suddenly dropped the explorers in front of a ruined town, though it looked more like some kind of military defense camp. Since no one could celebrate Valentine's Day due to the previous events, Tamaki had it in his head to try and fix that. Couples came together, some tried to kill each other, but it was quite a magical experience.
And yes, the men were auctioned off and the women bid on them.

Somarium got a rude awakening when many people found themselves watching someone getting eaten. Well it was Vamp, so nothing was really lost, but it did strike a wave of paranoia for the residents.
Fortunately, it was all resolved when Washu, the greatest scientific genius of the multiuniverse, stepped up to the plate and created a supplementary diet that the Embryon Tribe could eat in place of real humans. It took some time, but eventually the rest of Somarium learned about their situation and were able to live relatively peacefully alongside them.

The days have slowed down, as well as got warmer. Summer time had officially arrived into Somarium. Somehow, despite being surrounded by a desert, it wasn't really that scorching hot.

The Thread
So Kamina encountered Hades, who was by the fountain. Upon seeing the god's hair on fire, and not knowing it was supposed to be like that, he did what any other normal person would do: drench it with water.
Of course this made Hades rage and he kind of threw fireballs at Kamina. He then did a fire pillar that ended up destroying the fountain.
Many mourned. Particularly Lelouch and Suzaku since it was their emo fountain not really, but the players did so that counts right?

The Notice
All right, technically the fountain was already sealed/taped off when it was first destroyed, but we kind of forgot to actually put an official notice. So one was put.
Anyway, the important thing was that the fountain was still missing and a small barrier was placed around it so no one would could fall in.

There were tunnels underneath the village of Espoir the entire time. And the fountain was actually a secret entrance to it. Well what do you know, destroying something can reveal hidden treasures!
After a public broadcast by one of the ghosts beckoning for help, several people went down for some reason or another and found themselves falling into random rooms and with random groups of people. From there they worked together and tried to figure out what was going on and what was in the tunnels.
They weren't alone though. A couple of minotaurs were roaming about...
They eventually were teleported out and the entrance was once again sealed with a new fountain. It was in homage to the ghost "Precious"'s bunny.

A little late, but Tamaki and Rena threw a large fiesta celebration in honor of being in Somarium for a year. It brought about mixed feelings amongst the populace, mainly because some people have been there a year and have not returned home, or at least found a way out. It also dawned on them that they still have no real idea what kind of world they were in.
Unfortunately, that was going to change.

Not unlike the surprise earthquake that hit Somarium a few months back, a large, freak sandstorm ravaged through the populace, destroying almost everything in its path. Well the majority of the cottages in the village were wiped at least, and several buildings within the city were severely damaged.
Residents had to frantically find shelter, either in closets or basements, wherever it was safe. There were random one hour lulls in which it was safe to go out, and some took advantage of this time to try and assess the damage as well figure out where everyone was.
Dreamberries were relatively dysfunctional, with text communication being the best way to communicate.
Why did it happen? No one knew, but that wasn't going to be the end of it.

Before the sandstorm even disappeared, the desert monsters made their way into the city and pretty much wreaked serious havoc among the inhabitants. It seemed like it would never end until the Overlord finally appeared.

The Overlord herself finally appeared and with all of her power she destroyed the monsters and restored everything. The village and the city had quite a big makeover, and new additions were even created, such as a very large lake and a mini pseudo-canal system. The barrier was also set four miles farther out than it had been previously, and this was actually where the barrier had been originally before anyone arrived.
Autumn had also officially arrived into Somarium. Pay no mind that this is a month earlier than the previous one.
But her work was not done. After restoring Somarium as much as she could, she then descended down and made herself available to the people so she could try and answer any questions they might ask. Some more successful than others.
In the end, however, it is evident that she is very weak, and the truth about dream energy is revealed. But what will happen next?

For the whole month of October, Somarium underwent yet another setting change. This time it resembled Halloween Town from A Nightmare Before Christmas. The Halloween Carnival also returned, thought it was apparently creepier than usual what with the fog surrounding it and not being accessible for a while.

Others could interact with them, but they would be following their own delusions. Worst part was that what they saw was basically a "worst case scenario" where their world was ruined. There was an antidote, however. But it wasn't cheap. Those who bought the antidote had to pay with nightmares. In addition to the event, on December 31 the floating mountain "docked" right above the lake.

Still during the Moon Cycle 08, residents found themselves in a mirror version of Somarium. Well, more like a nightmare version. Best of all, they were stuck in a warehouse where noctaere crawled and attacked others at will. Fun times.

Up until this point, it had only been the current residents populating Somarium. One could imagine how lonely that would get. However, during the Moon Cycle 09, "ghosts" suddenly appeared within Somarium and essentially took the role of NPCs. They weren't rather complex; in fact they were more like sheep. Creepy sheep. This was also the end of the Dream Credits System and instead an implied currency was installed in its place. Things were no longer free for the taking-Somarium was becoming more and more like a modern society.

Moon Cycle 16 (New Moon). For a week Somarium turned into Jurassic Park, including the dinos. The NPCs had turned into tribesman who had the potential to provoke and attack everyone else. It was definitely a fine example of survival of the fittest. On April 23, residents suddenly found themselves able to shapeshift into any animal.

Moon Cycle 20 (Full Moon). Somarium's first AU event. The world changed to back when Somarium was a real bustling city high in its prime. It was optional, but those affected also believed that they were part of the scene. They had jobs and lived their life as if they had been born and raised there among the populace. They even made families with one another (you can just imagine how that ended when everything turned back to normal). This was the first time where residents had a chance to learn how their world worked, especially those lucky enough to work in the research facilities. This was the time where the concept of dream energy was introduced, and that people from other worlds were actually a common occurrence, in fact considered normal. There was even mention of a "Dream Gate", but it was out of commission. Everyone retained all of these memories.

Moon Cycle 24 (New Moon). At first, residents would find themselves falling victim to a variety of traditional superstitions. If they stepped on a crack, some person's back would break. But the most troubling part of this particular cycle was when residents were physically affected by their dreams. For instance, if they were injured or changed into something in the dream, residents would wake up to discover that extra limb or injury.

During the Moon Cycle 27 cycle, residents awoke to strange crystals in their possession. The crystal represented something that either represented themselves, or something that they cherished most. For this particular week, it also had the bonus effect of making one feel either extra nice or extra bad. Each time a certain deed was performed to that effect, it would glow purple.

Moon Cycle 28 (Full Moon). Those crystals weren't apparently just for show. They gave residents a super power! There was also a strange broadcast made by someone called "The Doctor" who seemed willing-if tersely-to dish out some information for those who bothered to ask.

During the Moon Cycle 31, a strange broadcast was made across the network. It featured two girls who addressed themselves as "Chelsea" and "Sweet Pea." Stranger still was the fact that they were inside the floating castle. And apparently there wasn't much in it; at least according to them. But why were the up there to begin with...?

The floating castle eventually sank into the desert sands, creating a massive sink hole. A large, black statue rose from the depths and rested upon the now sealed sink hole. Power was also restored.

Moon Cycle 36 (Full Moon). As if to try and raise everyone's spirits, the locals decided to throw a festival in honor of their hard efforts (may whatever Somarium dream gods bless them). There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing, a lot of eating, and definitely a lot of partying and drinking. But it was a nice change of pace and it ended with a bang. Literally. There were fireworks.

Apparently that giant statue with the spinny knives was growing impatient and tried to push the residents along in trying to figure things out. It read aloud the little inscription found on its base and the rabbit fountain in the central plaza of Espoir rose to reveal the secret entrance to the tunnels. The tunnels were now open for exploration.

Moon Cycle 40 (New Moon). This was one heck of a week for the residents. Throughout the whole week they were once again stuck in costumes-only this time they were able to use whatever abilities the costume represented. But as usual, that wasn't all. A mysterious train arrived and those who boarded it were taken down into the sink hole and into the world itself. That's right, they saw the actual core of the world. There they discovered the floating castle, half sunk in the mysterious goop. Upon entering, however, the explorers found themselves fighting for their lives in an extreme haunted castle. There nightmares became all too real-and dangerous. Back on the surface, residents weren't having it easy, either. Once again the Dreamwalker ability was granted and anyone in Somarium could enter others' dreams. Which was probably a good thing since they tended to be their worst nightmare. Will there ever be an actual "Happy" Halloween? Probably not.

Moon Cycle 43 (Full Moon). Yet another "American Thanksgiving" themed event, only this time the food came alive. And attacked. Makes one look at vegetables in a whole new light when they pull something like this. Okay, not exactly, but they were tenacious little buggers and were willing to sacrifice themselves to defend their fooddom! And who would want a giant pumpkin flying toward their head? Seriously.

Moon Cycle 44 (Full Moon). Wait a minute-wasn't it just the full moon with the veggies attacking? Apparently the moon wanted to stay shiny. Really wanted to stay shiny. For the whole month of December, the moon remained in its full moon status. Was this normal? Come now, is anything in Somarium ever normal? For the first week of December, Somarium became decked out with the traditional Christmas decorations and little "tricks", like the mistletoe that made you kiss, hug, or high five the person you met under there. It was also the start of the traditional Secret Santa.

Moon Cycle 45 (Full Moon). Somarium's first setting change was into Candyland. Everything except for living creatures turned into candy. It was even edible. There were also giant nutcrackers to harass everyone.

Moon Cycle 47 (Full Moon). Surf's up, Somarium. Summer suddenly hit the winter scene this week as all the snow just disappeared and the bright summer sun warmed everyone up. Of course anyone still wearing shorts at the end of the week found themselves freezing, but it was a nice respite after those freezing temperatures.

During the Moon Cycle 49, a dark, strange dream appeared in everyone's minds. An ominous image of their city ravaged by some unknown creature, and a pale, beautiful dark haired woman giving the commands. Upon waking, everyone found Somarium covered in black ice. Was it a premonition of what was to come? Of course.

During the Moon Cycle 50, another dream came to everyone. This time it focused on the floating mountain, hinting that something could be inside it. But everyone would awake to the sounds and sight of black ice converging upon it and dragging it outside of the barrier and to the sink hole. The statue rose in the air, also entrapping in some strange black goo.

Moon Cycle 51 (New Moon). Throughout the week a giant yeti popped out of the desert and ravaged the city, village, and the floating mountain. It first focused on the floating mountain, beating on it as if trying to destroy it. It was only until later that it attacked the rabbit fountain in the village. Thanks to everyone's efforts, the beast was finally killed and destroyed. It took a while to recover, but eventually Somarium returned to normalcy.

During the Moon Cycle 54, cupids invaded Somarium, and they were armed with very special arrows. Needless to say, love was literally in the air and man did they want to share it.

During these three cycles, residents obtained two special cards: a Memory Card and a World Memory Card. The Memory Card stored a certain type of memory depending on the week (Random, Lust, and Twisted respectively) while the World Memory Card revealed certain visions that may have happened in Somarium's past.

Moon Cycle 59 (New Moon). Those special cards disappeared and were replaced by one vintage looking card. The picture displayed images of the residents in 1920s Prohibition-Era America clothing and sepia toned. They didn't really do much, but they were just yet another clue to what was to come.

Moon Cycle 62. Overnight, Somarium's cityscape changed to reflect the 1920s of the United States. Clothes were changed, everything had a strange sepia tone to it, and even the locals were completely altered. It was of course the final hint of what was happening next.

Moon Cycle 63 (Full Moon). Like last year, another AU event was held, this time set in Somarium's past of the 1920s. Those affected believed they were a part of the Somarium scene, either being part of the mafia or some other life. Relationships were made (some broken or changed) but all in all it was a "roaring" good time.

Moon Cycle 71 (Full Moon). After a brief lull and a prolonged heat wave, Somarium was struck by a sudden torrential storm, followed by an even more sudden flash flood. Of course there was nothing "normal" about it. With strange black rain and murky waters infested with monsters, the residents were hard pressed to survive.
Finally, after the waters had reached their height, the barrier finally broke and the waters receded into the sink hole, forming a huge, turbulent whirlpool. Dark, nightmareish creatures soon inhabited as well.
The city itself suffered great damage. It took a while, but eventually the city recovered-except for the Industrial District.

Moon Cycle 75 (New Moon). For the past several weeks, strangers and military personnel had been slowly gathering into Somarium. Where they came from, no one knew, but that was about to change. First, a guy named Ryan Tassit made a Broadcast giving a bit of an explanation of what was going on. At this point in time, the Industrial District had been experiencing a lot of heavy activity due to the flood. Ryan warned them not to go near it, but wouldn't explain why.
Apparently it was because some kind of outbreak happened, causing the local residents to go berserk and appear as if they were possessed. Those who had been contained finally broke out and started to attack everyone. Their key features were the purple eyes and purple gemstones that they were dead set on implanting on everyone.
Eventually, more military and medical reinforcements arrived. But what cured everyone was a brilliant flash of light that appeared from the floating mountain and the barrier. The barrier mended itself and the whirlpool outside experienced its own cleansing.

Ryan Tassit made another broadcast informing everyone that the Records had been updated with some more general information about their world. Of course, this brought more questions than answers, but the nature of this strange dream world was slowly being revealed.

Moon Cycle 79 (Full Moon). The Autumn Festival was back again! A month earlier than the other, but it seemed like the season was already starting to change. The traditional events were held, and Tamaki hosted the grand finale this year with the floating lanterns. Sirius Black and James Potter also helped by providing special fireworks. But there was a bigger surprise in store for everyone at the end, one that no one could have predicted.

Moon Cycle 79 (Full Moon). The Autumn Festival had been a hit but there was an even grander finale when the one who had always been called "The Overlord" suddenly appeared. Many did not know her, but those who did were shocked. She revealed herself to be "Sylvani," a Dreamwalker stationed to guard Somarium's location. She revealed to everyone that they were Dreamwalkers and began to tell them more about their world. There was still one large mystery hanging in the air, but she promised that it would be revealed later.

After learning that they were actually dreamwalkers-whatever that meant-a dreamwalking specialist by the name of Aisling was chosen to help the foreigners learn how to use their abilities. Some were more successful than others, but those who went got a good first glimpse of what they were going to need to do.
