Challenge Sixteen: Second Annual Holiday Drabbles & Drawbles
Deadline: Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Midnight New York time
ETA: The challenge was closed early due to the holidays. Outstanding prompts have been reassigned, and emails have been sent to those parties affected.
Challenge Option One: Drabbles - Write a holiday drabble incorporating the precise wording of the prompt. It must be exactly 100 words, wizard-centric, het, and romantic in notion, while following the community and challenge guidelines for content.
Challenge Option Two: Drawbles - Create a holiday drawing, painting, or sketch, incorporating the idea of the prompt. It must be 300 x 300 pixels, and it can be black and white or colour, be any style, and use any medium. It cannot have a detailed background. It must be wizard-centric, het and romantic in notion, while following the community guidelines for content. No NC-17 art allowed.
Claiming Your Prompt
1) All participants should thoroughly review the Community Guidelines before beginning the challenge. You must be a member to participate.
2) You may claim only one prompt at a time. Just comment to this post with the number AND the prompt. (Example: #301 Fruitcake) This makes it easier for the moderator and helps prevent mistakes with prompt assignments. When the moderator acknowledges your request, your username will be added to the table. The prompt is then yours, and you may begin.
3) When you claim a prompt, we expect you to post your story or art by the deadline -- Sunday, December 23 at MIDNIGHT, New York time. If you cannot produce the fiction or art due to a real life crisis, tell us immediately, so the prompt can be reassigned.
Writing Your Drabble/Creating Your Drawble
1) Your drabble or drawble must incorporate the prompt and follow the guidelines of the community for content. You may set your drabble or drawble in any era: past, present, or future. Drabbles may be written from any point of view, but the focus must be on the canon wizard/canon witch and the romance. No Original Characters (OCs) for this challenge. Rare pairings are highly encouraged.
2) Your drabble must be 100 words exactly. We check the word count with MS Word, so there are no exceptions. Em dashes do not count as a word. Hyphenated words count as one word, so half-blood is one word. If it's a drawble, it must be 300 x 300 pixels. Only one response per prompt.
3) While our Proof Witches are not working this challenge, we do expect proper grammar and punctuation. Drabbles with blatant errors will be rejected. If there are minor errors, a comment to the entry will be posted noting the error. We expect you to fix it promptly.
Posting Your Story or Art
1) Post your story or art to romancingwizard by MIDNIGHT (NY time) on Sunday, December 23.
2) Use the prompt ONLY as the subject of your post. (Without the number.)
3) Do not use the 'rich text' posting option because it causes problems with our template formatting.

7) Do not modify the templates, except where you are adding information. 'X' marks the spot to insert your information. There needs to be a space after the colon (and after the html bold tag), so the 'X' is there as a helpful guide.
8) There are only three possibilities for ratings at romancingwizard: (1) G/PG, (2) PG-13/R and (3) NC-17. Use only one of those three. If a warning is needed, the moderators will remind you. Examples: PG-13/R for language and suggestive content OR NC-17 for sexual content.
9) If you must add thoughts, recognitions, and explanations, put them behind a cut. Ideally, your drabble or drawble will stand on it's own without further explanation.
After Posting Your Story or Art
1) Your entry will be moderated, but it will show up in the queue in a reasonable amount of time. Ineligible entries will be rejected with a brief note explaining what needs to be fixed. We expect complete cooperation.
